Pretty good thriller.
This was a very good mystery, generational connections and twists and turns enough for anyone.
Well written with well developed characters. Twists and turns throughout the story keeps one guessing. Fast paced with a solid story line. Really enjoyed reading.
I enjoyed reading this book way to the surprising but sad ending.
Good entertainment, story moved along, easy read.
very good read tried to figure out ending , but was stumped. very surprising ending.
This book was a surprise and very well written. I highly recommend it.
One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I had no real clue who dunnit. Twists and turns mixed with darkness. Good read
Heartbreaking!
Overall, a well-written and interesting mystery. Note to author: Dogwood trees do not grow in Maine! Very interesting characters.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Unexpected twists.
This is a twisty, surprising thriller about a female cop’s broken family bonds and the blind spots we have when it comes to those we love. When Police Chief Nick Storrow discovers the body of a child in a pond at the edge of the woods, he vows to find the killer. His search for the truth leads to a chilling possibility that it could be his own son, Billy. Years later, a young woman disappears from the school for the blind where Billy works. His father is gone, but his sister, Rachel, now a detective on the Flowering Dogwood police force, gets the case. When circumstantial evidence points to Billy, Rachel decides to open the cold case that her father never solved. Billy swears he is innocent. We will learn if he is lying or if there is somebody out there waiting and watching. –This story is a little too twisted for me. It is sad in several ways, and I do not like unresolved issues.
Best I have read in quite some time. Keeps you guessing the entire book. Vivid characters and fantastic writing – not just the story, the author paints pictures, feelings and moods with her words. An overall immersive experience.
I got the feeling I’d read this book years ago, and I was right, but found it worth a second reading. This tense, suspenseful police procedural links the homicide of a young woman with a cold case that took place many years earlier.

It needed to be edited. Maine setting not authentic. Character building fell short and most of character information isn’t necessary to the plot. Tedious read to get to the creative parts of who dunnit.
A horror detective story. More then readable, but ..
I liked this book, but I did NOT like the language & sexual situations.
I grow weary of the co-workers that can’t keep their hands off one another, tormenting each other’s marriages, blah blah. Got a little heavy-footed trying to keep the story moving. Fair to medium to average, you know?
