Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo.
Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.
When the latest school explosion lands her in … explosion lands her in a facility for troubled teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is — leading her down a path she never imagined possible.
Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could.

I first read something by Stacey Marie Brown in Such Violent Delights Anthology and I was hooked on her words.
I was drawn into this book by Ember’s strange abilities, i was intrigued by the thrilling story that was unfolding, and mesmerised by the hot eye candy that graced us. But I really, really, really need to know what Ember and Eli are. …
A fun and engaging new-adult urban fantasy. Reminiscent of Karen Marie Moning’s fae world in her Fever collection. I’ve read the entire Darkness of Light series and thoroughly enjoyed it. Check it out!

Darkness of Light is the first book in the Darkness series by Stacey Marie Brown.
Ember Brycin thought she was hallucinating, seeing bizarre creatures, hearing voices and being able to do unusual stuff. She was then sent to an institution for the troubled youths. There she was able to meet Eli Dragen whom she met once in jail.

Not bad
I enjoyed this one so much I went and bought the other 3. Worth it.
I thought the book was poorly written. It jumped around and I had a hard time keeping interested.
Didn’t like the ending. No conclusion, prefer stand alone
Great read for young adults
Loved it
I read this book back in January 2014. I loved it! Stacey introduced me to a whole new world and I’ve been lost ever since! Or found, depending on how you look at it! 😉
I could not put this book down and I am totally exhausted from staying up so late reading.
I’m late to the party on this one but kind of psyched because I can jump right into book two without having to wait.
The author did an amazing job keeping the reader guessing about the main character, Ember, and many of the other characters in this book. …
Actual rating 3.5 stars
This is the second series I have read by this author. It took it a little while for the story to pick up and go.
I’m not a fan of Eli. I hate how back and forth he is with Ember. I can never understand what is going to happen with him. He’ll be showing interest into Ember and then suddenly he gets this disgusted look on …

I started with the Collector Series when I should have started with Darkness. So after reading this book, things make SO MUCH MORE SENSE!! This book is awesome. Ember is alone in a world full of things she thought were all in her head, and she’s not sure who to trust anymore. She finds out her whole life is basically a complete lie, and complete …
Awesome! Great characterizing!
I found this book free on kindle and downloaded it on a whim. Now, this is one of my all-time favorite series and Stacey Marie Brown one of my favorite authors. It’s an exciting, dark, and very intense action paranormal YA with a side of romance, which is exactly the way I like it. Ember is a fantastic female lead: strong, stubborn, passionate, …
