As always this series just keeps on getting better with each addition. Until now, It Ain’t Me, Babe remained my favourite. This has literally knocked it off its podium. I floved it so much. The secrets revealed just come right out of left field. So subtlety woven into the past stories then boom! & OH.MY.GOD! It was so worth the wait!!
My heart melted for Styx once more, I even shed a tear at the birth of his son. So emotionally written it brought a lump to my throat as I dabbed my eyes. Tanner and Adelita truly were a modern day Romeo & Juliet. A love story doomed to fail from the start. Their journey was bloodthirsty and devastating.
The whole book was emotionally charged, shrouded in darkness. Tillie really does deliver a truly gritty story, great writing & delivery. A book that will keep you turning the pages. I never wanted this story to finish.
What was with the changing of her name?!?!
Adela vs Adelita =/
I don’t know why but it really, really bothered me. Even after the bombshell.
This story wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t everything I had hoped either. The series still had me though.
OH MY GAWD!!! Tanner is freaken amazing. And awesome. And hot. And sweet. And I love him
This is Tanner and Adelita’s story. Adelita is badass
I was sooooo happy to come back to the Hangmen world.
This is an action packed and crazy read nothing less than what I’d expect from this gang. It also made my heart skip a beat or two and it was definitely hot.
Omg! This book was so mind blowing. So much revelations! About everyone it seemed!! And Lil Ash. Man… I can’t wait for his book! (Which I think will be the 4 book coming.)
I’m so glad I waited to read this book. Because now I can get to dive right into My Maddie!
I love how I can just jump back into this series and remember it all.
So much went on in this book! But my heart broke for Lil Ash. He will not be so carefree anymore. Life has caught up to him and all the messed up crap that comes with it.
The cartel and kkk war was a lot to take in. Reading Tanner’s early years was hard. He had so much hatred. Thinking his race was the superior race. And Adelita…. I loved how she broke down all his walls and opened up Tanners eyes.
She saved him. And Tanner saves Adelita from her sheltered life. She didn’t know just how much in danger she really was.
The ending of this book was sweet. Styx came to the realization that what his old man told him years ago. What he made him believe was a lie. It rocked him to the very core this new information. I can’t wait to see this new side of Styx.
Now on to my Maddie!!!
The White Prince and the Cartel Princess. Tanner and Adelina. This story had all the feels. So much passion, anger, love and violence. Their love was forbidden. They shouldn’t fall in love. They were enemies. But the heart wants what the heart wants. They had to fight for their love. For their right to be together. I loved the other characters and I can’t wait for more Flame and Maddie.
Tanner and Adelita
White Prince and Cartel Princess
Two people who were never meant to be, found in the other their soulmate. Pretty much sums up this story. I liked everything about it. I must say the most inappropriate things were said by Viking, so funny. I’m dying he had the best lines. Can’t wait for his story.
If you love dark and emotional books Tillie Cole is your author.
I’ve read the first 6th books in this series last year and loved everything about them.
I love dark and emotionally exhausting stories from time to time
This book and the whole series is devil dark and has it all. A MC Club, Mexican cartel and Ku Klux Klan maniacs. This’s the story about the worst evil of this world. I don’t even know who is the worst in the story
It’s an emotional rollercoaster of incredible heartbreaking feelings, dramas and unbelievable mercilessly emotional moments
This is Tanner’s and Adelita’s story. Tanner the heir of the Ku Klux Klan and Adelita the Mexican cartel princess. Yes, it’s something that shouldn’t never happens, but it did.
Their love is a secret that can’t be never discovered. Their relationship can only work behind closed doors.
But they want more, they dream about a future together.
How is that supposed to work?
What should they do?
They live in two worlds that hate each other.
But they did it and the consequences of their love are dead and bloodshed.
It’s like Romeo and Juliet 2.0, only in a world of devils and monsters that fight for power.
Well, did I make you curious?
Because I’m not going to tell you anymore, so read this book and enjoy it.
I loved every second of it.
I’m currently reading the 8th book in the series “My Maddie”
and it’s
Holy crap! This book made my heart want to jump out of my chest the whole way. It was basically a fucked up version of Romeo & Juliet. As if Romeo and Juliet wasn’t a fucked up story as it is right? But Tillie Cole knows how to work her twisted magic and gave us this amazing story! I don’t really know how to put into words how much I love Tillie’s writing. There’s just something about it that sucks me in EVERY SINGLE TIME! She lords over me from front to back of every book she writes. I never want to put them down!
I loved this book so much. A modern day Romeo and Juliet story, Tanner and Adelita had the whole world against them. Their struggle to find happiness ripped my heart out. This book had the same raw, gritty violence I’ve come to expect from Tillie Cole. It also had plenty of heat and emotion. I loved everything about it and can’t wait for more from this world.
The White Prince and the Cartel Princess got their happily ever after. Was there blood, was there death, was there angst and was there Viking and Rudge making inappropriate comments? That would be a big fat yes to all of the above. The things you would turn away from somehow end up being okay when written by the amazingly talented Tillie Cole. Loved Tanner and Adelita and cannot wait for more from this world!
*****SPOILERS*****
Felt so good to jump back into the Hades Hangmen MC world again! This book was packed full of action, secrets, sadness, pain & some well-deserved joy sprinkled in all the right places. It was pretty much unputdownable.
Although they’re not one of my favorite couples (Styx/Mae, Flame/Maddie will always be my favorites), I liked Tanner & Adelita together. It was hard for me to read about how their relationship started (because the flashbacks can drag at times & I’m not a huge fan of the whole “cartel princess” storyline) but it was important to know how it all began… How the hate turned into love.
Tanner’s brother was probably the most surprising part of the story for me. Beau’s secret was like one giant “HELL YEAH!” & I loved it. Total Hollywood moment from him while in Mexico.
Adelita’s connection to Styx was a bit off-the-wall for me but I rolled with it because it gave me more Styx & Mae.
My heart bled for what happened with Lil’ Ash, Slash & Zane. Talk about a game changer for them. So curious to find out the lasting effects it’ll have on Lil’ Ash & how it might change his relationship (some might say non-relationship) with Saffie because I’m dying to see them together.
Loved, loved, LOVED getting some chapters in Styx’s POV! Him & Mae reign supreme in my book so I was over-the-moon happy that we got to see so much of them!!
But please… Why in the ever-loving HELL did they let the Governor just walk on out of there? They know how resourceful he’s been in the past, so why not end him then & there?! Ugh. That epilogue spells nothing but trouble for the Hangmen. *sigh*
VERY excited that Viking’s story is up next! (Well, after Flame & Maddie’s novella.) I’m thinking that Charley is his woman! Can’t wait to see her whip his rear in gear, after he finds out where she is…
As always Tillie Cole brings us an intense, wonderful slice of life with the Hades Hangmen! I love these books and have been waiting for Tanner to get his time in the spotlight. And it was absolutely worth the wait!
Tanner’s background is clarified and the strength of his character revealed. Live conquers all, as they say, and this is true for Tanner and Adeline, but, more than that, it provided the impetus for thought and reflection leading to significant, life changing self revelations!
As always, Darkness Embraced delivers an intense, hot, heart stopping read, so characteristic of Tillie Cole. I loved every wonderful word!
Welcome into modern dark version of Romeo and Juliet but with motorcycle gangs, cartels and Ku Klux Klan. Once you start this book you won’t be able to put it down cause Tillie Cole once again did her magic and you’ll definitely fell in love in Tanner’s and Lita’s story.
This story may be little less on the darkest side but we still get what we all love. So we still have in this book amazing story, undeniably passion, impossible romance and action that will keep you glued to your reader or book.
The Hangmen that we felt in love since book one may not be fighting religious Cult yet still they have to fight to protect innocent women and children. And the enemy could be even more dangerous when there are two of them.
Tanner and Adelita were born into two enemy sides but one day they were forced to spent some time with each other and they learnt they can’t be more wrong about their view about each other. They always had to live lives chosen by their fathers in the world with no free will for either of them. Beside bigotry and hate a very stron connection and love devolps between this unlikely duo.
Tanner leaves Lita with the promise of coming back but first he must cut all the ties with the Klan and help his friend Tank who found his new happy life in The Hangmen. And he knew that he will need his new brothers to help him get his girl back.
Will he succeed? What will have to be sacrificed? Can love between Ku Klux Klan prince and Cartel princes be even slightly possible? If you want to find out you just have to read this incredible book.
I’ve read every book in this series and every one of them can be considered dark, gritty, and violent. There are triggers galore in this and every other book. But I’ve loved them all. I especially love the common theme of the strong love the H’s have for their women. Tanner is the same. The big trigger in this book is Tanner’s past association with the white supremacy group his father founded and to which he was raised to take over as the “white prince.” Tanner met Adelita in a previous book, fell in love with her and left his family and the group behind because he knew their beliefs were wrong. Tanner’s story is a story of redemption and the fact that no matter what environment you’re raised in, no matter what doctrines are pounded into you, you always have the chance to redeem yourself and change your beliefs.
I’m looking forward to Vike’s story. Another imperfect soul that I’m sure Tillie Cole will work her magic on and deliver us a good story.
This is by far my fav series and each book gets better and better. I couldn’t wait too finally read Tanner’s book and once I started reading I didn’t want too stop. Truly an amazing read that will have you glued too your kindle and pulling on your heartstrings. Another 5 Star read that everyone absolutely must read.
I am in awe of Darkness Embraced and Tillie Cole’s talent astounds me. This book is absolutely brilliant, intense, emotional and filled with the level of angst that I’ve come to know and love in the Hangmen series. The heart pounding drama had me on the edge of my seat and my anxiety was through the roof!
Tanner and Adelita’s story is the epitome of forbidden love. However, their first encounter is anything but love at first sight considering these two hate each other upon meeting. I’m a sucker for a hard hero with a tender side and reading Tanner’s transformation from the “White Prince” of the Klu Klux Klan to a man who fell so deeply in love with the Mexican Cartel Princess, Adelita was amazing and flawlessly written. Adelita along with Tanner brought so much depth, love, acceptance and hope to this story. She is the light to his dark. She helped him face his demons and see beyond the hatred and prejudice that was instilled in him all of his life. Everything about their love was all consuming and their fiery passion is a force to be reckoned with.
Tillie Cole is a master at writing sensitive subject type books with finesse and tact. Darkness Embraced’s plot is SO unbelievably good from every aspect, it sucked me in and I didn’t want to let it go. I was more than thrilled to be back in the Hangmen world again and while the majority of the story is about Tanner and Adelita, it was great to revisit previous characters and their ongoing stories. And just when you think you know everything about the Hangmen family, Ms. Cole throws in shocking revelations that you will never see coming.
Once again Ms. Cole has written another page turner that I devoured in one sitting. Darkness Embraced is a 100 % definite must read and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Tanner, the heir apparent to a branch of the KKK. Adelita, the cartel princess of Mexico. It seems highly improbable that these two, even just on paper, should ever fall in love. And when they meet, it isn’t love at first sight. How could it be when both have been forced into lives of hate and evil? But, the more time they spend together, the more they fall. They find similarities within the other. They find their soul mate in each other. So now matter how unlikely the love of a KKK born and bred heir and the princess of a cartel leader seems, it happens, it flourishes between them.
But, Tanner’s life in the Klan isn’t one he wants to lead any longer, and he has to leave it. To do so, though, it means he has to leave his Adelita. But he promises he’ll be back. Will his promises come to fruition or will she be left to live forever without her love?
Although I haven’t read any of the previous books in the Hades Hangmen series, the gist of Darkness Embraced was easy to pick up on, and easy to fall in love with. It’s not as dark as one of Tillie Cole’s previous stories I’ve read (and loved) in the past, Riot, but it has the same emotional, visceral impact on me that Riot did. Sure, it’s still violent and gritty, and the evil and hate oozed out of my Kindle, but the love that Tanner and Adelita forged, and the love all the brothers in Tanner’s crew shared, are what really stick with me even now that I’ve been done reading for a few days. I can safely say that after having read and loved this unusual, but epic, tale of love set against a background of hate and evil, that I will be going back to read the previous stories in the Hades Hangmen series, and will read any future ones to come.
This series has never let me down.
It always makes me sit back and ask myself “How do some people do the ugly things they do to other people?”
This book follows two people from totally different worlds and totally different lifestyles. Can one person break through another persons lifetime of hate, and what are the consequences of that.
The Hangmen are a family, and that is very important to them. They continue to learn more about what a real family is and what it can take to protect it.
This series continues to keep me wanting more.
LOVED. LOVED. LOVED.
I could not wait for Tanner’s story. It was everything I wanted and more. Tillie Cole is a genius wordsmith.
It’s so easy to get sucked into this wonderfully dark world of bikers and brothers and bitches and Hangmen. And I love every minute of it.
Intense moments had my heart pounding and had me scared to turn the page. Heart-achingly painful moments had tears falling down my cheeks. Feel-good moments had my heart bursting with joy and I was smiling from ear to ear.
I can’t get enough of this series and I’m so excited for the next one!
Holy shizz! I am feeling somewhat bereft as I sit here to review this book! Purely because I have reached the end of this one! I mean I wanted to know how this one would end, whilst hoping it was like the Magic Porridge Pot…..never ending!
This book broke me (I think every one in this series has to be honest!), there were tears and tantrums and the drinking of Gin, whilst making my way through Tanner and Lita’s story. This is a heartbreakingly, beautiful, dark, love story. A love that surpasses and survives all. My heart!
It’s also about family, this group of brothers will do all they can to protect and care for those close to them. My emotions have been thrown six ways Sunday! I need a nap now!
