Edgar Award-winner Harlan Coben brings us his most astonishing—and deeply personal—novel yet. And it all begins when Myron Bolitar’s ex tells him he’s a father . . . of a dying thirteen-year-old boy. Myron never saw it coming. A surprise visit from an ex-girlfriend is unsettling enough. But Emily Downing’s news brings him to his knees. Her son Jeremy is dying and needs a bone-marrow … bone-marrow transplant—from a donor who has vanished without a trace. Then comes the real shocker: The boy is Myron’s son, conceived the night before her wedding to another man.
Staggered by the news, Myron plunges into a search for the missing donor. But finding him means cracking open a dark mystery that involves a broken family, a brutal kidnapping spree, and the FBI. Somewhere in the sordid mess is the donor who disappeared. And as doubts emerge about Jeremy’s true paternity, a child vanishes, igniting a chain reaction of heartbreaking truth and chilling revelation.

I love Harlan Coben. Not in an I-want-to-marry-him way, but because he writes such reliably good thrillers and novels of psychological suspense. He’s a master who always entertains me and sometimes even moves me. His characters are quirky and real–his love for his native New Jersey comes through in nearly every book, and he’s almost peerless when it comes to creating plots and twists that always surprise. DARKEST FEAR is no different. I only knocked off a star because I felt like, in this one, he tried a bit too hard with the cornball humor and it became distracting. But still, a great read.

All Bolitar books are fantastic
Harlan always delivers a page-turner. Love his books!
I learned about this author via Netflix’s “The Stranger”, and decided to investigate. The book I bought was nothing like that series. In fact, I was very surprised by Myron, the male protagonist. I am not a sports fan at all, but Myron is such a great character that it didn’t matter. This book was well-written, smart, witty, fun, and very much a page-turner. Add Win into the mix, and it was a delight for a suspense novel. Highly recommend.
Another great book by this author.
Good story, but too much extraneous details.
Coben’s series with Myron and his cohorts is always entertaining – at times even laugh out loud – and wonderfully fast paced.
Love the author, ALWAYS writes good books!
Anything Harlem Coben writes is THE BEST!
Harlen Coben never disappoints. This touches a personal twist. Another great book.
Love anything Harlem Coben writes
One of Coben’s best.
I enjoyed the humor of the main character and his sidekicks. Putting the pieces of this mystery puzzle together were very enjoyable but the finale stretched the believable, as it all got tidied up. However, the journey was enough fun, that I was willing to forgive.,
He never writes a bad book. And he always has a good plot and a surprise ending. Love his writing.
Harlan Coben never disappoints
Harlan Cobin never disappoints.
Coben’s Myron Bolitar series is irresistible.
I loved the main character. I didn’t like the one lapse from integrity but he acknowledged it.
All Harlan Corbin’s books are gteat
