I love how each author brings a different flavor to this series.
Ava – A princess- A toy – Priceless – yet Worthless.
She is my hero!
She knew when to submit.
She knew losing a battle meant nothing if she still won the war.
So many secrets woven together – a shield of skeletons that both protected and suppressed her heart.
Niko – an emotionless void, death without a conscience. Not, a combination you want gunning for you. Especially if it’s personal.
Our of all the Cavalieri to date this one was wholly unique. Such a different story line. I was impressed when the various truths were revealed. Some seriously twisted circumstances.
And the betrayals – holy chit can you trust no one??
4.5 Stars
Every book I have read by this author has been been just fantastic, and this book was no different. Even the one small issue I had with it was because I am a grudge holding bitch and felt that Nico needed to do some serious grovelling after the second time he thought the worst about Ava. (lol)
Apart from the above mentioned issue, this was was a complete hit with me. The writing was excellent. I loved that it was on the longer side so the story felt suitably fleshed out. It was well paced. The plot was engaging. There were twists and turns. Murder and mayhem. Secrets and lies. Hot sex. No OW or OM drama. It was fairly light on secondary characters, but there were a couple I wouldn’t mind reading more about. Ava was an AWESOME heroine. Smart. Feisty. Strong. Nico I liked a lot, but I never 100% warmed up to him. I think he thought the worst of Ava WAY too easily at times. That said, I wasn’t expecting Mr. Rogers, and he DID have his moments, so it was just a small niggle for me. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet ending that put a smile on my face.
So yea, not much left for me to say. I loved it. I recommend it. I also what to thank Miz Kenborn for gifting me a copy of this book after a rather unpleasant run-in saw me being removed from the reviewer list for this series. She is a class act and a total sweetheart.
Darkest Deeds is dark, it’s gritty, its got twists and turns galore. A mighty impressive read by Cora Kenborn.
Ava is the daughter of a Russian Cartel Boss. Having been delivered a fate from her father, she is THE ULTIMATE badass woman. She exudes fieriness, strength and resilience and makes a formidable character.
Niko.. f*#k me sideways. He is one bad, ruthless MF. The contract assassin, hired by Ava’s father.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this Mafia book. The suspense, darkness, plot twists and the strength the characters exude, made this an unstoppable read and one that I could reread over and over again.
This book more than holds its own in what is proving to be one amazing series.
Darkest Deeds is yet another action packed, gripping instalment in the Cavalieri Della Morte series. It is the violent, heart wrenching and disturbed tale of Niko, Ava and second chances.
Oh my word this book is REALLY VERY GOOD, the plot had so many twists and turns I got dizzy! I can’t believe how many bluffs, double bluffs, lies, secrets and slight of hands the author managed to fit into this story, yet it never felt over complicated and it was never too confusing to follow – though you did have to keep your wits about you!
I haven’t read any work by Cora Kenborn before but I will certainly keep an eye out for her in future. Both her world building and character development were amazing, my attention was held throughout, I never once felt bored or meh nor was I tempted to skim whilst reading this. I absolutely adored both Ava and Niko, with their blackened and tattered souls. Both are prepared to do bad things but have good hearts at their core.
The lies and manipulations of others have kept them apart for 8 years, but a few minutes in each others company is enough to have passions running high. This pair have an explosive and savage chemistry, theirs is a passion born of violence, lust, hate, love and anger.
There were surprisingly (and pleasantly) only a few full on sex scenes. The focus was very much more on the romantic suspense/organised crime elements of the book. I wouldn’t describe this as a dark romance, but it does have dark elements in it, including some several violent scenes and intimations of abuse.
I believe this book will really appeal to those who enjoy mafia romances, romantic suspense and darker, grittier reads. It’s content makes it an 18+ read, as long as you are older than that then I do recommend this to you.
A dark book indeed! I wonder how such a beautiful sweet authoress can write such delicious love that backfires with such deep hurt, and not just emotional hurt, either. There is evil in the world and both Ava and Nico were born into families headed by the worst of Bratva fathers. And they suffered emensely: Ava watched her father suffocate her mother when she was eleven. Nico was 17 as he consoled Ava at the funeral, but he had already killed his father and worked for Ava’s father. It is no wonder they fell in love in spite of their age difference! Athough reading the story seemed like torture, looking back, some of the things I liked were the fact that Nico, an Assassin without mercy, was not a sexual deviant (nothing seemed to distract him) and Ava braved being severely used and mistreated by her father for eight more years after Nico left her father’s service. When he returned with a contract to kill her, everything she did seemed to betray Nico, but she was actually strong, intelligent and loyal! It seems these two can never make it to a HEA, but Ava’s ability to love Nico, in spite of the things she must do that seem to belie her love, allow her courage and craftiness to win out over the bad in the Bratva and in the FBI! I recommend this read and volunteered this review from an ARC.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
No one is innocent in the eyes of Cavalieri Della Morte. If you name ends up on my list, your time is up. No regrets. No mercy. No conscience. Until the enemy becomes my twisted obsession. Two days ago, I paid a prince to fulfill a vendetta, Twenty minutes ago, I threw it all away. Stolen in the night. Held against her will. Bound to a monster. I came to take her life but claimed it instead. I warn her not to trust men with sin on their lips and ice in their veins. She cautions me not to be deceived by my own eyes. Neither of us listens. What started out as a quest for retribution has become a game of survival. They say three can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Challenge accepted.
This book like most of the books in the Cavalieri Della Morte Series are dark. There may be some trigger. If you have triggers you will want to proceed with caution.
I have never read a book by Cora Kenborn before. Holy cow though she blew me away!!! This book deserves more than five stars and will be one of my favorites in this series. This is the story of assassin Niko Gaheris and Bravata princess Ava Chernova. Their story is not for the faint of heart and has a lot of violence in it. However these two have some amazing chemistry in all the darkness. You will be on the edge of your seat with all the twist and turns and will even pick your jaw up off the floor several times. I devoured this book and couldn’t put it down. You do not want to miss this book or any book in this series for that matter. I am loving this series to much and can not wait for the next book and couple!!! Thank you Cora Kenborn for writing something so amazing. I am off to discover what else you have written that I have been missing out on.
Darkest Deeds (Cavalieri Della Morte series) by Cora Kenborn is the next story for assassin Niko. His assignment is to capture, torture and kill Ava Chernova . She is not only the daughter of the head of the Bratva but a person from Niko’s past. Niko use to work for Ava’s father. Ava was suppose to hold all her first for Niko but something happened that tore them apart. Because of that incident both Niko and Ava have never been the same. He can’t wait to carry out this assignment. Ava did something to Niko that he can’t forgive her for and exacting revenge is what he wants. Ava’s life is hard. Even though she is the daughter of the head of the Bratva, her life is lived at a strip club turning tricks. She now finds herself caught between the FBI and doing what she thinks is right. I really liked this story. Once Niko gets a hold of Ava his feelings for her changes. Now they both are trying to fight against their feelings for each other while staying alive. The attraction between Niko and Ava was fire. I am still loving Arthur and hoping he gets his own book. Enjoying the series and enjoyed the way this author told this story. 4.5 stars for me.
Darkest Deed is absolutely amazing! Nico and Ava have crazy intense chemistry and the sparks, I didn’t know whether they would kill each other or my kindle would melt. I have to say their story left me breathless and speechless with every unexpected twist and turn. The writing is fabulous, the characters are well developed and the story had me on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last. Dark, twisted and a sexy 5 star read!
Author Cora Kenborn has mastered the genre on dark romance with her latest release of Darkest Deeds (Cavalieri Della Morte)!! I have been a fan of this author since her first series and continue to love each and every book she writes. As a reader of all genres, Darkest Deeds (Cavalieri Della Morte) is by far some of her best work. I am quite the picky reader and to hold my attention takes a superb writing style, a building plot as well as great character development. Cora Kenborns latest release gave me exactly what I long for in a book…..beginning to end. Although Darkest Deeds is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
Nico and Ava once had a bond they promised would never be broken. As most promises go, it was not only broken but severed in ways neither could imagine. In their world the weak are crushed, family is foe, and the strong are broken and destroyed only to reemerge survivors. As the old saying tells us, “dead men tell no tales.” Nico has a job to do and he never leaves anyone to tell ‘tales’. Ava is between a rock and a hard place with no one to trust but herself. A phone call brings them face to face, fate takes them on a ride they never anticipated.
I was spellbound by the story of Nico and Ava. The character development was superb. The pace at which the author led us on this ride was full of more twists and turn than a rollercoaster. Yet it was perfect. I didn’t feel at anytime the story stalled or lost momentum and or moved too quickly. Holy smokes the plot was beautifully executed. I am a reader that loves a ‘build’ in a book. DO NOT give me the plot early on!!! Hold that close, let it build at a steady pace. That is exactly what the author does in this book. Having read every book Mrs. Kenborn has written I will say this book not only shows her growth as an author but her unique talent to fine detail. When an author writes something that stays with you, so much so you go back just to re-read those words…..that is talent!
We don’t pretend to be anything but who we are. We’re as real as real gets……….I want real. I want every ugly and beautiful thing between us….
Let me add this as well. Thank you for the strong female lead. We see so many books with the female as the damsel in distress, needing a strong alpha male to rescue them. Ava was the perfect balance. She had a vulnerability that in no way made her weak. It actually made her character even stronger in my opinion! I looked at Ava as beautifully broken. Nico was just the pefect match for Ava. Her weak to his strong and vice versa. They were the perfect blend of broken and not to mention they were an off the charts dark hawt!
Well done author Cora Kenborn! It may seen a contradiction to say a dark mafia romance was beautifully written, but for this reader it was. A beautiful mix of sin and innocence, lust and love, friend and foe, revenge and acceptance. I cannot wait until this authors next book release!
Darkest Deeds (Cavalieri Della Morte) by Cora Kenborn
What can I say about this book that hasn’t already been said. This book is the darkest I’ve read yet by this author, but oh so good! This book is full of intrigue, suspense and of course romance. The chemistry of Nico and Ava can be felt off the pages. This is one book you don’t want to put down because Cora Kenborn has taken things to a whole new level with this mafia book! I highly suggest taking a chance and reading this book!
“A conscience can’t fracture if it doesn’t exist, and if you bargain with the devil, sometimes you pay with your soul.”
Darkest Deeds by Cora Kenborn, book #7 in the Cavalieri Della Morte series. I know I’ve said it multiple times while reading this series but I really do have a new favorite and this one is right at the TOP of the list for me! Darkest Deeds has a little of EVERYTHING, enemies-to-lovers, second chance romance, suspense, betrayal, murder, AND the mafia! This book packed a serious punch! Cora Kenborn is a new-to-me author and man does she know how to write a mafia romance! Told in dual POV there are so many bombs dropped you won’t know when the next ones coming!
“I’m a moth enticed by a dangerously deceptive flame.”
Nikolai Garetovsky, now known as Niko Gaheris (or one of the other 28 aliases that he uses) is another one of Arthur Calthorpe’s loyal assassins for the Tabella Della Morte. Niko just finished a hit when Arthur calls with another one, at first Niko wants to turn it down… but when he finds out the reason Arthur called him is that it’s a hit on someone from his past, someone he’s wanted revenge on for eight long years, he can’t agree fast enough.
Once upon a time all those years ago Niko loved Ava and would have done anything in the world to protect her, but one night when Niko needed Ava to protect him from her father who was once Niko’s mentor, she didn’t and Niko suffered horrible consequences for a crime that he didn’t commit because of it. But now, Niko has his chance for revenge.
“The troubled little girl I vowed to protect. The beautiful young woman I tried to resist. The Bratva princess I grew to hate.”
Ava Chernova the Bratva Princess and the Russian mob boss, Sergei Chernova’s daughter. While working as a stripper at her father’s club Seventh Heaven, better known as Seven because “nothing that happens in there is holy” Ava is caught in a compromising “position” when Special Agent Ethan Schaeffer decides to raid Seven while Ava is in one of the VIP rooms with a client.
Agent Schaeffer decides that Ava could be useful to him so he uses her indiscretions against her to make her spy on her own people. But Sergei hasn’t gotten to where he is now by not knowing what’s going on with the people around him and he knows that Ava is talking to the FED’s and he wants her dead.
But Niko isn’t just out for revenge on Ava, he wants Sergei dead too. But when Niko sees his Pchelka for the first time in eight years, well you know what they say about the best-made plans…
“Nothing about her has ever made me act rationally, but fuck, she’s nothing like the teenager I remember. This version of Sergei’s daughter isn’t the one from my violent fantasies. The one on stage is a walking paradox. A diabolical angel. A mind fuck with a body crafted for sin and a face carved from the heavens.”
After 8 years apart and a lot of mistrust and resentment between them, there is STILL that something that draws them to one another, and after all these years, when the two of them finally come together, it’s absolutely explosive!
“I’m not fucking you tonight, Ava.” “Then what are you doing?” “Loving you.”
Between the threat of her father and Agent Schaeffer, Ava has to make a plan and she doesn’t have very long to figure it out.
“He’ll never understand. None of them will. It’s not easy taking a step forward when you don’t know where your foot will fall. It could land on safe ground or just as easily plunge me to my death.”
Will Niko murder the only girl he’s ever loved, the same girl that he vowed to protect? Or will Ava betray Niko all over again?
You’ll have to check out Darkest Deeds to find out!
Niko is an absolute alpha! He exudes power and masculinity and I totally understand why Ava has an awfully hard time hating him. BUT Ava, Ava is hell on high heels! She’s sexy and deadly but she still has an air of innocence to her that Niko finds impossible to resist even though he doesn’t know whether he can actually trust her or not.
“You see, Ava, Sergei may have hated you, but you always knew that. But me? I loved you, and love that turns to hate is the most dangerous kind.”
I think my absolute favorite part of this one was that even though this is Niko’s story, Ava completely stole the show! I loved Niko but there is nothing better to me than a strong ass heroine who can hold her own with her alpha, and Ava, she can do more than just hold her own, she can give him a run for his money!
“I hate him for not fighting harder to save me. I hate him for letting my father turn me into a whore. I hate him for hating me. But mostly, I hate me. I hate me because as hard as I want to make myself believe all of it, I don’t.”
I HIGHLY recommend Darkest Deeds, if you like dark mafia romances that are full of betrayal and redemption then this is the one for you!
“I’ve done what I thought was right. I’ve tried to right my wrongs. But like I said, I’m no butterfly. I’m a motherfucking bee. And it won’t be the flap of a butterfly’s wings that starts this storm. It’ll be the sting no one saw coming.”
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
With each new addition to the Cavalieri della Morte series my need for deliciously dark, twisted and mesmerizing reads has grown. Darkest Deeds more than fit the bill and kept me riveted until the very last page. Gritty, full of suspense with tons of feels Nikolai and Ava’s story took me on a wild ride and I enjoyed every heart-racing moment. These two kept me on the edge of my seat guessing all the way until the end. If you love emotionally charged, dark mafia reads then Darkest Deeds is a definite must read.
Oh wow…how does one really put into words how amazing this book was? Not sure that I can. Just when I think things can not get any better, there is a story like this. Dark, gritty, mischief, mayhem, and the twists and turns that keep you turning the pages! You will want to pick this one up and not put it down. Do it! Do it now!!
Cora Kenborn does it again! I loved this book so much. It was so dark, dirty, & gritty. I loved the characters Niko & Ava, they are such tortured dark souls. You don’t want to root for them, but then you end up falling in love every aspect of their broken dark hearts. Her character development and all their hot chemistry was great. The plot was great and all the twists made me not want to put the book down. I never saw any of hits coming and I love that in a book. The mafia world that she created was so great, I felt that I was in their world and it was so addicting. This is one of the best mafia books I’ve read in a long time. If you like things dark and brutal with lies and deception this is a book for you!!
You ever read a book that pulls you in and holds your attention from the first word to the last? Well this book is even better than that!! This book doesn’t go from 0 to 100 it starts off at 100 and goes from there. Cora Kenborn went full on beast mode with this story. This ain’t no sweet fluffy love story, it is gritty, raw, powerful, and hot as hell. Watch out Val a new alpha mafia man is vying for the title, and he may have won
Niko is an alpha’s alpha, he is take no prisoners sexy. He exudes sex appeal, power, and raw animal magnetism that dives off the pages. And Ava!! Ava is nobody’s fool, that girl is smart. She is sexy, fierce, and deadly while still being soft, sweet, and kinda innocent. Ava may be my favorite heroine, and make no mistake she is a heroine, she is beautifully broken. But it’s the damaged people that somehow become the strongest. I love Niko and Ava’s story. It’s one of redemption, betrayal, and second chances.
Darkest Deeds is definitely a five star plus read, and one of my top 10 reads for the year. If you like dark mafia tales, and are following the Cavalieri Della Morte series, then you definitely want to pick up this one. Another great five star addition to the Cavalieri Della Morte series. I’m ready for more of these guys. #2019MustReadSeries
Five stars isnt even enough for this book. The author gives us raw, dark and Dirty with Ava and Nicko. She has outdone herself bringing us this book in this series. She hooks you from the first page to the last and makes you not want it to end. I want to be like Ava when I grow up

You know the stories that leave you hungover for days? This is that story! She creates a web of lies, deceit, and craziness that leaves you hanging onto the edge of your seat!!! This series has blown me away, and this books just proves it gets better and better. This was my first book by this author, and wow. I’ll be reading more of her stuff!! You never know which way the story is going to turn and it is amazing. A story and series that can be read over and over again. If you love dark mafia, this book is for you!!
The characters are sneaky and ruthless. They keep changing the plot by their actions. Seriously. Read this book!! Now!!
This story was dark, steamy and packed full of raw emotion, betrayal, revenge, twists, and blood shed. It’s the kind of book you can’t put down because you need to know how it ends. Ava and Niko are dynamic and engaging and their unpredictable journey will have you second guessing who to trust. This is another 5 Star must read by this amazing author.
I loved Darkest Deeds by Cora Kenborn. It was fast paced, thrilling, sexy as hell, and engaging. I couldn’t stop flipping the pages to find out what happens next, and all the verbal sparring had me panting for more.
Ava and Niko are dynamite together. I enjoyed all the twists and turns along the way, constantly wondering who to trust, and being shocked by some of the reveals. It was so much fun and exactly what romantic suspense should be-full of tension and surprises that leave your jaw on the floor.
I strongly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good thrill ride filled with sexy moments and witty banter. You will not be disappointed.
Cora Kenborn has grown so much as a writer. I have been following her since her debut book, Fame and Obsession. I could tell that she was something special just from that book, however, the growth that she has book to book is astounding. The way that she builds her worlds just pulls you in as a reader. I always feel so invested in her stories and her characters. I truly believe that Cora Kenborn is an author well on her way to make a big name for herself. Her stories a engaging, original, well paced, plotted, well edited, and just extremely enjoyable. I can’t wait for her next release!
Darkest Deeds was AMAZING!!! This is by far the darkest book she has written, however, it was fantastic!
I love the fact that Ava was a badass. What she went through was horrifying, but she overcame her past and holy **** she was amazing! I love a strong female lead. I have a hard time getting involved in a character that is sweet and meek, but I experienced NONE of that with Ava. She drew me in from the get go. Cora Kenborn can write a strong female and still have you wanting to be her. I never once felt that Ava was too much of a badass. Kenborn was able to straddle that line of too much/too little like an absolute pro.
Niko, Oh.. I loved Niko. I didn’t think that I would love one of Kenborn’s character’s more than Valentin Carrera, but then came Niko, and yeah…there is a bit of a fight in my mind as to who is better.. LOL. Niko was great, he was alpha to the extreme, but I felt that no matter what, he knew where the line was with Ava. Speaking of Valentin Carrera… HE HAS A CAMEO! Oh my LOVED IT! AND… the twist that came with it!!! I won’t say what it is, because I don’t want to spoil the book, but if you loved Carrera, you need to check this one out. It was almost like a continuation… could we possibly see a collaboration with Carrera and the Russians???? (I’m actually really wanting this so please can we make this happen)
I loved this book. (I know it’s hard to tell how much I love it). It started off with a bang and the twists that the author threw in were fantastic. I never knew what to expect. Just when you think you have figured something out and what you thought you knew, isn’t what is actually happening. I love when an author can have you so invested in a story that you stay up all night reading it (which I totally did). I didn’t want this book to end. I’m hoping we see some more from this world!
If you enjoy being kept on your toes, not being able to predict a book, this is the book for you.
All these books are amazing, and I can’t wait to work my way through them, though I will say, Cora Kenborn is one of my favorite authors, so I was immediately drawn to this series because of that. I was able to find some new to me authors out of this and I am looking forward to reading all these books! Keep them coming please!
