What they don’t know is that he harbors a secret, a secret that can set him free, but also trap him forever.Refusing to give in to that which can lead him to a path of freedom, Blake Leaf allows the darkness to … the darkness to attempt to claim his soul. But there is always a shining light somewhere, and sometimes it’s just too dark to see it.
Will Blake find his way back to light, or is it too late for him?
Darkbeam Part II is about the events of Thunderlight and Frostbite (Book 2 and 3 in The Dragonian Series) told from Blake Leaf’s point of view.

This is well written and I loved it! Such amazing characters and a diverse cast! I eagerly await more!! An amazing job!
After reading the 1st part where the world of Paegeia is sketched and the students of the Dragonia Academy, I was already under the spell of this story. A story where Blake, as the Rubicon dragon, will sink into darkness and eventually destroy Paegeia unless he finds his rider. Someone of the royal bloodline but not his best friend Prince Lucian and certainly not Princess Arianne.
And who is that new girl who looks so much like the murdered King Albert? Can she really be a daughter of royal blood and ultimately his salvation from the dark?
Part 2 of a great fantasy series where a lot is happening and not so much good things. Where Blake continues to doubt who and what Elena is. Where disaster strikes and where it seems to end

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Adrienne Woods; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This story is dark ,filled with horror that may put you under the blankets while reading.
The story is complex but easy to follow.
The main character knows he is dark and evil but does not care.
The other characters are great and consistent as with book 1.
Great book you will enjoy this or be scared out of your wits.

Blake and Elenas story told from Blakes point of view. This is a dark fantasy read with bits of horror mixed in. It has situations that will make your toes curl and your breath hitch! I was a bit skeptic at first but I just could not pass up this story! This is not my usual genre that I read now do not misconstrue what I am going to say please, I have enjoyed this series from the first book and all of the novellas in between. I am looking forward to the next book and I am glad I took a chance on Miss Woods. She is very intriguing storyteller. One that I will revisit. I like that she graced us with Blakes point of view in this book. It provides more clarity and is really a remarkable read.

The darkness is eating away at Blake, can he keep it at bay long enough? Or will it take over and have him end up destroying all that he loves? I loved tormented singer Blake, who doesn’t want to turn dark (and certainly is a bad boy), and I loved Elena who has heaps of challenges too. I look forward to the next book, and what happens next.

This is the second book from Blake’s point of view
Blake is still battling his inner darkness – gets a bit overwhelming at times –
Either you do or you don’t!
Quit your waffling
I am enjoying the tension between him and Elena and the thousand excuses he comes up with when he finds himself “unwillingly” playing her white knight
As the inner darkness vs light battle continues for Blake he also finds himself embroiled in other nefarious and not so nefarious plots
The question is will he take the easy way out or will he accept the truth and embrace his destiny?
4 1/2 stars – This is the second book in this series which is this MC’s POV from the original Dragonian Series. This is lot darker and not sure I would recommend for YA but I am loving it. Lots of drama and action. Characters well developed. Can’t wait to read next one.

The darkness is still rising, or is it? New surprising twists with friends and family still proving that they will always have your back. Another good book in the series and cannot wait to read more.

So much in this book! Heartache and pain, and love, but unrecognized. Blake’s POV is so intense, his darkness, and seeing Elena sharing the burden. Finally, the claiming! So amazing to see from Blake’s POV. This whole book had me on edge. I have obviously read all of the Dragonian series so I know what to expect at major points, but kudos to the author for keeping it new with this perspective. Love this book, it really pulls you in and you can feel the pain, anguish, hope, confusion, and love.

First off I want to thank Adrienne Woods for providing me with a free sample of Darkbeam II. Blake is turning darker and I kind of really want to slap him. Like in Darkbeam I there is a lot of inner dialogue and depressive, repetitive, redundant thoughts about how big and bad he is, how evil he is, how much he doesn’t care, and so on so forth. It’s frustrating to read about him thinking that he knows best and not bothering to ask others what really is going on or refusing to listen to what others tell him. He has dug himself a hole and he is determined to stay in that hole, snapping and biting at every hand that reaches out to him. And then suddenly he thinks that Elena killing him is the answer, which I think is a little pathetic as he’s looking for an escape and not a solution. However, when that is said and done I actually quite liked this Blake that wasn’t thinking and running in circles, telling himself that he is evil incarnate when he is not. He is nothing when he could be more, and I think him not fighting himself showed us what that more could be.

Continuing Blake’s journey as he continues to fight the darkness. A new student arrives and creates quite the stir. The King of Lion is stolen and the students journey to The Sacred Cavern. This is a wonderful addition to the Rubicon’s story and provides more insight to the Dragonian Series.
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
