Dark Wine At Dusk is Book 3 in the Hill Vampire series. I was not disappointed with this book as it continues on from Book 2 nicely. There is an exceptional plot with two dynamic main characters , Cerissa and Henry, and lots of other characters. We have an unknown foe who is killing residents of the Hill. There are lots of plots within plots as well as multiple POVs. Jenna Barwin has such a wonderful way with words (fantastic story telling) that draw you into the story, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and invested in the story line and emotions of the characters until the end which is yet to come (each book leads you into the next). I highly recommend this book and series which should be read in order so that the reader can experience the enjoyment and full impact of this phenomenal series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Dark Wine at Dusk
The characters are great and the story continues the intrigue from the first two books in the series
It’s not hard to fall in head-over on this book. As a reader I found it hard not to totally become engrossed in the story. Like the first 2…. had a hard time putting the book down. It’s got everything!!! A great plot, great characters, and a writing style that is descriptive and just flows it’s done so well. There was variety and depth to all the interesting characters. Plus the main 2…… Aye..ya. Aye!! Cerissa and Henry’s chemistry is off the charts steamy!!! It’s a bunch of plots and subplots, and more going on than just tracking down some villains and conspiracies. There was just so much I loved about this book. As Always!! Loved the multiple POVS, plus it’s headers at the beginning of the chapters that have time and location notes makes it easy to follow. Am looking forward to who is behind allllll this mayhem & dasteredly planning, BUT …… guess will have to wait!!! Although I have my own speculations…. do u!?? AND am now sucked in again!!! highly anticipating the next book. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES!!
I received this ARC for my honest opinion and review!! HAPPY READING!!
Amazing book , I love this series . It gets better and better …the chemistry between Henry and Cerissa makes you want to keep reading they are hot….must read
Lots of intrigue and suspense as the couple tries to uncover those who are targeting founders of the vampire community. Reading first two books in the series is highly recommended as this story is continuation, not stand alone. Although the complex plot makes it a fun story on its own, the romance and heat between the couple is a large plus. Can’t wait for the next in the series.
This is a fantastic read. That pulls you in right from the start. And keeps you captivated from the start until the end of the book. This grabs you and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The Author really brought out the Characters and the scenes. There are twists and turns. And If your a supernatural lover this is definitely the read for you

I cannot gush enough over this story
This is much more than just a murder mystery/love story with vampires and humans. This really hit the mark with an excellent plot as the scientist in Cerissa cannot stop looking for answers but she is confronted internally as she wars with herself because of her new found love, Henry. They have an epic love together but sometimes science and love will clash. The story is super inventive and creative and is filled with hope and love, science and power.
Henry has quite a bit of emotional baggage to work through, which does not make it easy on the relationship. I was totally engrossed in the story and had a hard time putting the book down with its great plot, Cerissa and Henry’s off the charts steam, and a writing style that is descriptive and flows so well. There was variety and depth to all the interesting characters, creatures and history. There are plots and subplots, and more going on than just tracking down some conspirators who want to take over the mortal world. There was just so much I loved about this book. It also had multiple pov’s and headers with time and location stamps that made it easy to follow. I was looking forward to the end, but we did not get there yet, and I am now highly anticipating the next book. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.

‘A gripping ‘vampire’ romance. The chemistry between Henry and Cerissa will keep you turning the page. Powerfully written and totally unputdownable!’ A ‘Wishing Shelf’ Book Review
REVIEW
So, to the third book in the set, Dark Wine at Dusk. So far, I have enjoyed all the Hill Vampire Novels, particularly Book Two, Dark Wine at Sunrise. So, I was very happy – no, delighted – when I was asked by the Wishing Shelf to look at the latest offering from Jenna Barwin.
Now, I do enjoy a good vampire adventure, and this is what this mostly is. It also has strong elements of romance, mystery – and a bucket full of sin! The author has plotted another captivating and, often, very exciting novel for adults. But not only that, she has given the reader an array of interesting characters to follow and framed everything in an accessible style of writing.
Talking of ‘writing style’, this author is adept at many aspects of writing, from character development to plot development, from helping the reader envisage the setting, to helping the reader understand the problems facing the characters (of which there are many). She is also very good with speech. I recently read another vampire novel which I enjoyed very much. But my enjoyment was marred by the insistence of the author to overwhelm the reader with three chapters of vampire history. Thankfully, this author has not fallen into that trap. Yes, there is a strong ‘vampire’ aspect to the story, but, thankfully, it is understandable, even to me, a lass from Yorkshire!
Well, I finished the novel three nights later and I did very much enjoy it. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me interested and the characters (good and bad) were interesting and well-developed. The ending was also very good and, closing my Kindle, I knew I’d be happy to open another of this author’s books.
I would happily recommend this book to anybody who enjoys ‘dark fantasy’. Although the plot is exciting, for me this is a character-led story. It’s sort of Twilight, but for adults. Also, unlike Twilight, it’s well-written and not full of endless romantic drivel. So, if strong characters and a hefty dollop of ‘sexy’ is your thing, this book – in fact, all three of them – is for you. Will women enjoy it most? Possibly. But men too might get a kick out of it.
So, had a long day at work? Feet killing you? Then curl up in your bed with a Hill Vampire Novel. But check under your bed first; it can get a little creepy!
