You know the saying, Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you……welcome to the world of politics, CIA, FBI, crime, paybacks, Sept 11, and power. Add to that the use of computer hackers, phone hacking, secret passwords and stolen documents.
In this day and age, papers have a harder time figuring out who is the bad guy and reporters are in a precarious situation of finding out the truth fast or lose out or get the wrong information and lose your job.
Deborah Jones, a die hard news reporter, lives on edge, always out for the next big story. Her
guy, Sam, is older, and her boss at the Miami Herald. They come off the pages as adults with some issues, lots of love, and a shared mission of getting the truth…but at what price?
As Deborah gets a phone call about Saudi Arabia and Sept 11 and our government from a young man, her life changes. The man is found dead in the Everglades. And so begins the game of whom do you trust?.
This book makes you think hard about passwords, your identity, encription,
how much of your info is being read off your computer or phone.
People in government and the paper with any information are suddenly dying or avoiding everyone.
Nathan travels to New York and back to Florida …leaving dead ones behind….watching and listening and killing under orders from someone high up.
Deborah and Sam risk their own lives as well as the lives of people they question.
I couldn’t believe how your cell phone can be remotely turned on and your private conversations listened in on…..hello paranoia!!
It gets scary as the children are under threats and parents are besides themselves trying to protect them. And who do you go to for help?
Action packed political drama and a great read for conspiracy buffs, computer geeks and political theorists.
This was a good read and truly interesting. I look forward to reading more by Mr. Turner.
It was a real page Turner. I couldn’t wait each time, to pick it up again.
Had fun reading it. Good plot twists and gov. involvement. Thank you.
Simply enjoyed it. Certainly would recommend it.
Lost track of some of the characters . Kinda slow
This was a very good read.
It was okay, better than some, worse than others.
Good story line with believable characters. A bit too “time to end so I’ll tie it all up now.”
Fast paced. Kept my interest to the end.
this was just a okay read for me. Even though I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to get through with it.
a good read, interesting storyline and characters
Very good read
Couldn’t put it down! I read Dark Waters before reading Miami Requiem and found them both suspense filed.
Definitely an easily believed story line given the current state of things in DC.
Dark Waters, was an ok book lots of action, steamy, but all of these books are short stories and leave you hanging.
Enjoyed this book immensely
JB Turner is masterful at telling the tale of corruption in the elite world. Deborah about got herself killed several times since she refuses to be bullied into letting the story go.
Could have ended a little sooner. Tended to drag on at the end
Rather amateurish and not well plotted. The potential might be there for a good book but this version is not it.
