Cara finds herself in a world of trouble in this newest installment to the Eve Duncan series. After a charity concert she is supposed to come for a visit but instead she is kidnapped. Well of course Eve and Joe totally lose but that is nothing compared to Jock. The evolution of the story from here is an equal mix of danger, suspense, romance, and emotionally charged scenes making for a great book overall. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Good read! I do so enjoy that edge of your seat thriller. It’s always a bit far fetched but hey it’s fictional. Love these characters and the plot of this tale. Looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.
Another excellent installment in the Eve Duncan series, this one brings Eve and Joe’s adopted daughter Kara to the forefront as the main character and will not disappoint! As always the characters are extremely well developed and brought to life in a manner that makes the fast, action packed plot even more intriguing and entertaining. I am quite looking forward to seeing how Eve & Joe’s son’s character develops as the story lines progress as I think we will see quite interesting plots involving him in the future! I listened to this one via audio and the reader did an excellent job of enhancing the characters personalities very well to add a bit more depth to the characters that you don’t even realize you need, but after listening will enjoy even more!
Awesome book
Iris Johansen’s Eve Duncan series has been a favorite of mine since the very first book in the series. Now on book 24, you may think that I’d get tired of the characters, the story, and the outcomes but NO WAY! I am just as hooked on the series now as I ever have been. The storyline stays fresh, the characters are still entertaining, and I love when there is a new character introduced.
This is Cara and Jock’s story. Their friendship has been intense since Cara met him when she was young and it has only grown deeper and stronger as she has grown up. Jock is the bad boy who has attracted the good girl. For her own good, he tries to keep away, watching her from afar and keeping her safe but he can’t seem to keep space between them for long. I loved seeing them circle each other while Cara pushes for more Jock pulls back. The next step in their relationship is one I have been waiting for.
I love that in Dark Tribute we start to learn more about Michael, Eve and Joe’s son. We see what his special talents are, learn how pure his heart is, and see how protective everyone is of him. I am excited to see what will happen next and how Michael will continue to grow into the amazing young boy he already shows signs of.
I enjoy all the books in the Eve Duncan series.
Eve Duncan is once more touched by evil when the young musical prodigy she has provided a safe sanctuary is abducted.
Classic Iris, great to the last page. Didn’t want it to end.
Strong family support amounts to characters.
Great book have read everyone of her books very entertainsing good page turner
I just love all the Eve Duncan books and enjoyed seeing the characters I have grown to love continue to grow and evolve. Story was quite unique and kept me on the edge of my seat. Love, love, love the book – hoping for more!
Love all her books
I won a copy of those book from Goodreads giveaways, I was not required to give a favorable review. This is one of those books that is so good you don’t want to put it down but sometimes the intrigue is almost overwhelming. I loved it. Eve Duncan, her husband Joe, their on Michael are such a great family unit but they bring in other people into that family that may not be blood but might as well be. This time Michael is trying to bring Cara and Jock together in his own way but someone who is an enemy of Cara’s grandfather has kidnapped her and then threatens the rest of her family because he want her to be a tribute to his dead sister that was killed by Cara’s grandfather years before. But she and her family deserved it after they did to him. He is a very sick man but the intrigue in this story keeps you reading.
