Complete Stand Alone/No CliffhangerNever met a male siren before? You’re about to… simple, caress.
As a male siren it’s my job to feed off emotion.
And I was happy to do it.
I am happy to do it.
What I’m not happy about? Being told I have to mate with some withering human and stay loyal to that one person for the next few centuries. There’s a war coming and being the idiot I am — I offered to take one for the team in order to help a friend.
Now my sexual appetite is taking a freaking kick in the nuts.
And I’m left wondering if it’s worth it.
If she’s worth it, with messy hair and dirty human hands.
But I have a world to save.
A job to do.
Now, if only, she would just let me do it rather than fighting me at every turn. I’ve lived lifetimes as the most irresistible being on the planet.
Only to meet my match.
With one.
Measly.
Human.
They say Hell’s hot. They’re wrong.
Because Hope, my little human, is way hotter.
And before this is over — she may just singe me alive.

: The Dark Ones Saga #3

: 3.5/5
I can’t exactly pinpoint why, but somehow I just liked this book less than the others. It might be because I feel like I could not connect with Alex as a character that well, I think I liked him better as a secondary character. That said, I did like the story it self even with a bit of disconnect. The writing, as always, is good and there was never a dull moment. However, I feel like some parts were a bit rushed. Since Alex is a siren, I expected some extra steamy scene’s and let me tell you there definitely was a lot of spice. The humor in this book was really great, it is one of my favorites parts. I am really looking forward to Mason his book! Just so curious to see where that will go. I did really like this book and it was some good entertainment.

Dark Surrender (The Dark Ones Saga #3) was a good read by Rachel Van Dyken. Alex has led the life of a king. He is a male siren who feeds off others emotions. He isn’t happy that he’s being told he has to mate with a human and stay loyal for the next few centuries. I really enjoyed reading Alex’s story and can’t wait to read more in this series.
This book was so good. I loved Alex even though he was such a douche in the begging. Honestly, he was awful and the way he treated Hope was terrible so the fact that I ended up loving him as a character was surprising. I am totally loving this world and these books that the author is creating. I can’t wait for Mason’s book.
3.5 attractive stars
I’m really enjoying this series! This kid book 3 in the dark ones saga and it’s alex and hopes story .
In order to be at his strongest In their fight again darkness alex has been directed by the king of immortals to mate. He reluctantly agrees to do it and gets more then he bargained for.
Hope has been hired to look after the plants in the immortal compound but her past is so much more then she remembers .
I won’t say much more about their story to avoid spoilers, but their story has elements of enemies to lovers , lots of paranormal stuff including demons, archangels, vampires, sirens , elves , and werewolves .
Although you could probably read this as a stand alone I’m reading it as part of the series and you get a greater in-depth understanding of the relationships between the main characters and the side characters . And the dynamics between them
As a mixed family of immortals . And I love their connections and friendships . So my recommendation is to read the series from the beginning 🙂 you’ll love it
Alex and Hope not only stole my heart but also stole the place of my favorite Dark Ones couple.
Alex and Hope had an intense epic chemistry from the moment they met. I loved Hope she was a bit shy and awkward with a fiery personality waiting for the moment to show her the depth of her strength which happens to be my favorite type of heroine.
While Alex and Hope are falling in love secrets of the past are revealed and this seemingly mismatched group of paranormals that have created their own family know that there’s something lurking in the shadows while they all prepare for the fight of their lives.
This series just get better and better. I’m ready for Mason’s story now!!!
Alex was the comic relief of the group. As a siren he has sex on the brain 24/7, I never would have imagined his story would disclose so much destiny and potential he had awaiting him, and the peculiar human he has to ate with that can resist his charm was as equally charged with a destiny just a great as his!
Superb storytelling of a fantastical world where archangels, vampires, werewolves and sirens make up one happy, dysfunctional yet strong family.
YAY! After the disappointment (for me) that was book two, I am over-the-moon happy that this series has hopped back onto the awesome train!!
Loved the new species that was introduced in this one, the humor, the history between Alex & Hope and the interactions they had with the other main characters (they were FANTASTIC)! I just couldn’t put this book down!!
Cannot wait to get my hands on Mason’s book! I don’t know when it’s scheduled for release but it NEEDS to get here ASAP; especially after that last chapter!! 🙂
Loved this book to pieces. Even better than the second. Alex and hope’s dialogs were a riot. Can’t wait to get into Mason’s story though I feel his will be the best out of the bunch
Alex could be sensitive about things, “nostrils flaring, he sat up on his knees “Did you just call me… old? Me?” Alex really isn’t one for sharing, “son of a b****!” I charged at him slamming his body against the nearest wall as cement crumbled to the floor. “You touched mine?” Alex sometimes does desperate things, when he’s well desperate, “hotel.” My eyes greedily searched down the street. “See? Hotel Monaco, perfect. Sex, room service — no werewolves or demons ***k blocking me.” I loved this book, and I’m eagerly waiting for Mason’s book
Can you seriously fall in love with a vampire, a Dark One (or two), a werewolves, and a siren all at the same time? I know it sounds like the start of a lame joke, but the Dark Ones Saga is no laughing matter. Although there are some ridiculous lines that will have you trying to hide your snickers and laughes if you are reading at work.
In each book, an immortal is tasked with mating to help make the race stronger for the coming war. Not bad right…except the whole potential for death and being stuck with someone you will never love.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
It seems Alex has decided to fall on his sword so poor Mason doesn’t have to. But it might be the biggest mistake he has ever made because life as he knows it will cease.
If you aren’t a paranormal fan, I still think that you will enjoy the series. RVD has a way with writing that seems to have demonic spell on it. Hmm, maybe it’s her siren song! Alex must be a written representation of her cunning ability. Totally think that’s true!!
Anyhow back to the awesomeness that is The Dark Ones, you don’t have to be a paranormal fan, but if you are watch out. The addictive nature and alluring words will wrap you up in a sweet caress and take your heart and soul with it!
Loved it. Am reading the set.
