“Hands down the best book series I have ever read. I Devour the books and coming from somebody who reads all the time this is an extreme compliment. I have never read such a well-written book where the story line develops with so many characters I love knowing what’s going on with everybody I love that you switch characters back and forth it is so awesome. Also the steamy love scenes are to die … are to die for!”
“This has been the best paranormal series I have ever read. It is better than vampire stories and better than reverse harem stories. It has lots of adventure, mystery, crime, justice, lust, love, romance–I can’t put the books down.”
“Don’t miss this series!! Wow and Wow! Roller Coaster! Grown folks stuff! Not teenage paranormal romance but complicated, complex adult relationships, intrigue, mystery, hot sex, fantasy, and romance! This is EVERYTHING you’ll ever want in a paranormal fantasy series!! It will make you cry, laugh, cheer for the heroes and heroines! All of the characters are well developed with strengths and weakness, beauty and flaws. Exciting plots! Intriguing twists and turns! You’ll enjoy the mythical, the fantasy, the history! This is a wonderful series! I’m having trouble trying to find something to keep me busy until the next book!! What in the hell am I going to do with myself!! Fates help me.”
“Ok, these are probably the BEST books I have read in a long time. The writer is extraordinarily talented in bringing her cast of characters to life. If you like mysteries and love stories that are not typical –written by one of the best authors I have read in a really long time then please pick up the first book and read them.”
“Love Love Love this book! This book had me hooked right from the beginning! This is probably the best series I’ve read and that’s saying a lot since some of my favorite Authors are JR Ward, C. Feehan and Kenyon!”
“Best in the genre I. T. Lucas pens an exceptionally well developed story. Many writers in this genre are predictable and formulaic. The Children of the Gods series is never predictable. This series stands with the best of fantasy writers – the fact that it is romance fantasy is almost beside the point. That said, even the sex scenes are well done and NOT predictable! A must read.”
“I love this series. I am a huge BDB fan. never miss a book EVER. Now I have added this series to that list. So well written and never drags on–always a page turner. And it is not typical stuff, it is very unique! An absolute must read!”
“I literally read this entire series in 3 days and now I’m going through character withdrawal waiting for the next. I.T. Lucas is an amazing writer with a brilliant mind and has quickly been added to my favorite author list.”
When Syssi’s paranormal foresight lands her a job at Dr. Amanda Dokani’s neuroscience lab, it fails to predict the thrilling yet terrifying turn her life will take. Syssi has no clue that her boss is an immortal who’ll drag her into a secret, millennia-old battle over humanity’s future. Nor does she realize that the professor’s imposing brother is the mysterious stranger who’s been starring in her dreams.
Since the dawn of human civilization, two warring factions of near-immortals – the descendants of the gods of old – have been secretly shaping its destiny. Leading the clandestine battle from his luxurious L.A. high-rise, Kian is surrounded by his clan, yet alone. Descending from a single goddess, clan members are forbidden to each other. And as the only other immortals are their hated enemies, Kian and his kin have been long resigned to a lonely existence of fleeting trysts with human partners. That is, until his sister–a neuroscience professor and a leading researcher of paranormal abilities–makes a game-changing discovery.
The Children of the Gods is a continuing saga and is best read in order.

Omg!! You have got to read this series!! I watch and wait anxiously for the next story to come out.. It’s a great overall story that carries you deep into their world , with realistic romance and sexual situations without it being gratuitous..
Fun series. I enjoyed the mixture of vampirism with mythology.
Can’t wait for the next one. Full series has me hooked!
What a great beginning to this series. At already 26 books strong, and 27 already on pre-order, this is a series that a reader could easily lose themselves in. The world building and back story are quite amazing – and the originality is refreshing and this is not a story arc that has been written over and over in this genre. Although Syssi and Kian’s story continues into the next book, this is a true page-turner of a book. You won’t want to put it down long and getting to the next book will be a priority for many.
Enjoyed the story and the characters. Thought the author ended at a good place. I will probably read the next book.
INCREDIBLE!!!! LOVE the characters SOOO MUCH and the WORLD the author invents is AMAZING!!! sooo interesting and detailed!!
No comparison to Black Dagger Brotherhood & JR Ward… I had really high hopes…but alas I find I skimmed through most of the book. Way to much clothing and surroundings description, not to mention the constantly repeated self doubt of main characters. If these weren’t on KU I would stop at 1. But giving 2 a try.
By far one of the best books I have read. A masterful way of making us live in a world where everything is possible. The characters are incredible, the stories are great. It’s like watching a television series, each chapter a different story, but the characters are still part of the plot. Kian and Sysy, spectacular. But I’m looking forward to Brundar’s story.
There are 48 books in this series so far. I am on book 32 and cannot put them down. This series is the reason I signed up for kindle unlimited.
This is a paranormal romance series and the first in the Children of the Gods series. The story revolves around descendants of Annani. With all good books there is always a base problem, for this series it is two warring clans and there ability to expand hampered by ideology. For the Children of Annani, the problem is that they want to avoid incest. On the other side, decendants of Mortdh (DOOM) see woman as nothing but slaves. To solve this the youngest child of Annani, Amanda, has gone into the human population in search of Dormants (new genetic lines). She succeeds and finds two—Syssi and Michael. Only problem is that these two are on DOOM’s radar too.
Amanda has the perfect match for Syssi, her own brother–Kian. This pair of misfits with more drama baggage than all of a major International airport. Watching Kian and Syssi both fight their attraction for each and the crossed signals, is entertaining to say the least.
Ms. Lucas is a fantastic writer and it is a pleasure to dive into her world. Reading or Listening to her books is like being a fly on the wall, she gives you just enough description without going overboard. Once you get on board with this series… buckle up and enjoy the ride.
I loved this book so much I went on to read the entire series in a matter of days. Highly recommended.
The book cover and the description was what drew me to the book in the first place. But then I started reading it. But I didn’t like the fact that every chapter was someone else’s point of view. Though it was cool to see what everyone else’s point of view was in the room, or the bad guys point of view. But, having every chapter someone else’s point of view was/is to much to keep track of. I did try to read the next book but, it was the same thing slow and too many point of views. But other than that the book was okay.
Absolutely love all of the books in this series
I liked this book an good read. But not as good as JR ward. This book was slower and you could tell the Author was dragging the story out to make it into a series!!
The concept of this story is fascinating but unfortunately, for me, I’ve found the tale a tad repetitive when I could have moved the story along at a much swifter pace that befits the genre!!
I will read book 2 & 3 as I’m interested enough to see what becomes of Syssi & Kian

This book is the beginning of a series of books, so beware. I’ve gotten through 9 of them and am on number 10 now. None of these books is an entire story, at least not in this series as provided on Book Bub. This first book, although good, I have to say was the least well written, but as I got further into the series, I realized it was better than I originally thought. There were too many points of view, but some of that began to make sense. Needless to say, I am thoroughly enjoying the series. Since this is such a monumentally long story, as a whole, there are parts that I feel are superfluous. Overall, it is an interesting concept of immortals finding their mates and waging war with evil.
