Ever since he was a kid from a troubled home growing up on the gritty backstreets of Cleveland, Ohio, Everett Lester longed to be somebody, to make a name for himself. He was determined to prove to his parents and the people who looked down on him that he would rise above, make it in this world — and make it big.Everett’s garage band, DeathStroke, played bars, pool halls, schools, Bar mitzvahs, … schools, Bar mitzvahs, and anyplace they could get a paycheck. Then a record label discovered them and the band experienced a thunderous and meteoric rise to the top of the record charts — and super-stardom.
Despite Everett’s unfathomable popularity and riches, he was spiraling out of control into a dark existence where everyone wanted a piece of him. He could find no privacy, genuine friends, joy, or contentment — even though, in the world’s eyes, he had it all.
When Everett begins to rely on the services of a personal psychic from L.A. for guidance and solace, he gradually finds a sinister form of evil seeping into his fractured life that threatens to end his career — and his life.
Through it all, Everett receives uplifting notes from a young lady in Kansas who claims she’s not a fan, but a friend — someone who sees his desperation and depravity — and is praying for him.
A murder trial ensues.
The eyes of the world fall on courtroom B-3 in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
Grab a front row seat and hold on tight. Dark Star is one of the wildest rides ever encountered in modern inspirational fiction.

Can a person change from a drug addict so messed up the person has no knowledge of events to a Christian who is intent on reaching those with whom he once was? This inspiring story gives hope to everyone!
Good story about spiritual warfare.
Can’t remember specifics as it’s been over a year since I read this, but as of the writing of this I have read 6 books by Creston Mapes and enjoyed every one of them!
The first Creston Mapes book I’ve read and I’m an instant fan. Great writing about a character type that is so ubiquitous in our modern world but most of us never see behind the scenes. What a great twist on the subject of Christian drama. I loved it.
Thought provoking book about spiritual warfare.
I love it. It showed no matter what our past was God still loves us. I loved the scripture that was use in the story. I tried sending this book to my grandson who is in jail but Barns and Noble did not have it.but I think it would have helped him to trust God more. It also showed how God is always loving us and His timing is always right. If he would have met karen sooner it wouldn’t work he was not ready .God is so good. God had taken 10 years to answer her pray for Everett. Everett’s sister was also praying for him. As they say God is good all the time. All the time God is good.
What a story! I loved the style.
A nice break from the traditional love story
As it started, I had to check again to see how it was classified as it was definitely not inspirational, but by the end, I could hardly wait to read the next book by Chris Mapes. Spiritual welfare is real, and this book definitely made it believable along with helping Christians realize the power of prayer.
What is NOT to like about this book??? This book was a book that I really enjoyed right from the very first page! It was easy to read….very realistic…funny yet original and yet action-packed at the same time! I also enjoyed the fact that this book was Inspirational as well and that I didn’t have to worry about any unneeded scenes that I wouldn’t be willing to have my kiddos read….I loved this book! I would highly recommend this book to anyone….you won’t regret reading it!!!
This book had a plot that made you want to keep reading and it told a story that demonstrated God’s redemptive power.
I loved this book and found I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Easy to see how easily one can get mixed up with witchcraft, unknowingly. I actually thought it was a true story.
I like that the book showed the bad as well as the good. It showed anyone can change if you give your life over to Jesus Christ.
Great author! Read all of his books.
