It’s not easy being a witch when you protect those who’d burn you at the stake.Ava López has never felt so betrayed. Looking for answers, she’s returned to her former coven, but instead of finding the truth, she’s fallen into a trap set by her own blood. The dark spell that’s been cast upon her strips Ava of her vampirism, and in the days that follow the ritual, a void grows within her. She’s more … void grows within her. She’s more conflicted than ever. After all, Ava never wanted to be a vampire. This could be a second chance at life, a newfound freedom from darkness and bloodshed—so why does she feel as though she’s lost the most important part of herself?
To have any chance at the life she craves, she must break the spell, but doing so requires the unimaginable. Unless there’s another way. Unless, by harnessing everything, she can finally set herself free.

I can’t believe the next book is gonna be the last of the series! And so far, I believe this one is the best one of all the books so far! Ava is stripped of her vampire side when her coven places a dark spell on her, which pissed me off by the way, and now she feels empty. She doesn’t feel right and to get reconnected with her vampire, she may end up having to sacrifice again. Uuugh this girl can’t get a break! The book ends on a good note but there is still a lot we need to know and I want to know more. How will it all end?? Can’t wait for the next one to release!!

This is the fourth book in the Darkhaven series and it is not a standalone. It picks up where the previous book left off and weaves its own spell around the reader. There is so much to unpack with this one and the phrase no good deed goes unpunished comes to mind. All Ava has wanted was to help those she considered her family and friends but what she got was not what she expected. As her former witch coven uses a dark magic spell on her, the vampire within, is stripped away leaving an emptiness where it once resided. Struggling with everything, at her core, Ava is a fighter but has she finally come up against something that is unshakeable? How far is Ava willing to go to break the chains that bind her? This is one well written storyline full of drama, betrayal and the strength of the family who is not of one’s blood. It puts readers on an emotional rollercoaster ride seething with anger to feeling the heartbreak of losing a piece of oneself to reclaiming one’s own power. I highly recommend this series! I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
This book was my favorite of the series so far!! Danielle Rose always finds ways to surprise us and her writing is so unique. She has an amazing way with words and you feel like you’re in the book.
Ava is going through so much in this story. There’s so much pain and emotion and I could feel it myself. Her blood family has devastated her with something so devious she can’t believe it. Her vampire family will stop at nothing to save her. We see from this book blood is not always thicker than water!!
What an amazing read this is!! I’m so excited for the final book and looking forward to what Danielle has up her sleeve. I highly recommend! This is a definite MUST READ!!
Danielle Rose brings us back to Darkhaven with Ava feeling lifeless and betrayed. Wanting and hoping she can get back to the Vampires House but needing to find Will first.
The emotions in this book will tug at your heart – Kudos Danielle
I have thought and thought about how I could review this book and NOT give away any details. This book is amazing…its not a series I would normally read, but sucked me in with Book 1 and now I’m anxiously awaiting book 5. I read this book so fast that when it ended I literally gasped out loud and said what just happened? She left us on a cliffhanger like no other. Great read, especially following the series. Can’t wait for the next installment. 5 out of 5 stars!!
I absolutely love this series! This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. I was disappointed when I realized I finished the book so quickly and now have to wait for the next one. Danielle Rose has done another amazing job of writing and I highly recommend this series!
I am loving this series and Dark Spell might be the best book yet! Ava is in the fight of her life against her former Coven. With her friends and allies she has to try and stop the battle that has been waging between them.
Dark Spell is action packed from the very beginning and will keep you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. Book 4 is heavier than the previous 3 since so much of it revolves around the battles between the witches and vampires. The author has done an excellent job of showing us how much Ava has matured through the series. Jasik and his brother have been instrumental in the series but we got to know some of the other vampires a little better in book 4. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
This is the 4th book in this series. Ava and Will have a Dark Spell put on them by The witches, which include Ava’s mother and grandmother. Who need enemies when you have family like that.
Every twist and turn in this book left me wanting more. Danielle really knows how to hold your attention. I love this series and can’t wait for the next installment.
An amazing story that grips you from the start!!! In my opinion, it is the best one so far. I absolutely loved it!!! I got lost in it and devoured it in no time. Needed more right away. Hooked.
I love this book, it’s sad at the end. Can’t wait for the next book.
This series just keeps surprising me. Every time I think I have it figured out Danielle switches it up. I can’t wait for Dark Curse to get her so I can see how Ava’s story ends.
Welp, slowly going to go insane awaiting the final book of the Darkhaven series. Without giving anything away, that roller coaster was full of grief and agony trying to send help to Ava. By far the best of the series, but then again I say that with all of Darkhaven’s books… lol 5 stars hands down.
Danielle never ceases to amaze me. The fourth installment is one of excitement and action. Ava faces one of the biggest betrayals anyone could ever imagine. Could she ever return back to the life she has grown accustomed to? Will she seek revenge?
Danielle Rose did another amazing job with Dark Spell showing us how wicked the witches of Darkhaven could be and what they would go through to hurt one who use to be their own. Ava is stripped of her Vampire side by a dark magic spell. She is filled with an empty void and a lose and longing for her sire Jasik. The vampires return for Ava and Will, but are not completely successful. Throughout the story you can feel the struggles and pain Ava is going through with the lose of her Vampire side how the family that was her blood are torturing her and her family by choice are doing everything in their powers to save her eventhough she keeps getting herself into trouble. Jasik’s bond to her seems to be growing stronger and Malik’s loyalty is above and beyond. All the vampires seem to be stepping up to help, support and save her whereas the witches are doing everything to control and bring her down. Ava finding her strength in goodness to persevere was absolutely amazing, but what will it cost her! This book was fantastic and I will be anxiously awaiting the conclusion!! Thank you Danielle for another wonderful read!!
Every twist and turn of this book, this series, makes me crave more! Each book just gets better and better. I couldn’t put it down. Loved it!
Wow! So much action and crazy family drama. Ava is tough and willing to fight for what she believes in. Talk about girl power and family are not always those related by blood. The bond between Ava and the vampires is stronger than I realized. I wish there were more to Jasik and Ava’s connection in this book but at least its action packed from beginning to end. You can not helo but fall in love with Darkhaven and all the characters. What an awesome ending but now I can not wait until the next book.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
