A supernatural war fast approaching. A young queen who may not live to take the throne. Evie can’t recall her past life, but her quest for answers revealed the truth behind local lore: wolves and dragon shifters do exist … and she’s a hybrid descendant of both. Keeping her identity as the returned queen hidden is no small feat. Especially when it’s unclear who’s friend or foe, who risked it all … risked it all to bring her back, and why?
It’s with Liam’s help that she learns to embrace and control her new abilities. Their shared past dates back centuries, an era when Liam was much more to her than just a warrior. She has no memory of their time together; however, traces of a powerful bond linger even now.
But she’s torn.
Can the choices she makes in the present override supernatural ties and legends of old? Or is her future already written in stone?
Including signs pointing toward her untimely death at the hands of Nick, the boy who stole her heart the moment she set foot in Seaton Falls?
Evie refuses to be ruled by her past.
Nick’s determined to rewrite the future that marks him as her killer.
And as for Liam, her warrior … he looks forward to stopping him when he fails.

This is a time to learn from the past, to find the roots, and to move on. What strikes the reader most is the fact that the main characters are not perfect, some far from it; however, the question that lingers is: loving someone justifies our attitudes? There’s this thin line to be crossed and up to now, we have only part of the story disclosed. Let’s see what we’ll face next.

SAME REVIEW GIVEN FOR ALL 5 BOOKS: If you’re into Young Adult/New Adult books and you’re a teenager, you will like this story. The only issues I had with the entire series, is the repetitive account of the hero and heroine’s past and present occurrences. This could have easily been one book, but like most authors these days, she chose to drag the story out. I ended up skimming just to get to the HEA ending. The premise of the story is not new, but was navigated well. If I knew that YA/NA meant, a chaste description of sexual scenes, I would have skipped this all together. The heroine, who the main story is about, remains a teenager throughout all 5 books. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was deeply felt, but the physical manifestation was a bit drab and juvenile, but only because, it’s a YA/NA book. As most reviewers have stated, the “war” was anti-climatic and there were still unanswered questions regarding the heroine’s father and her adoptive parents. Overall a good read for teenagers who like paranormal books.
This is the second book in this series and needs to be read in order.
What I love most about this series is the natural progression of the characters, how their journeys ebb and flow. Evie and Liam are starting to really come into their own in the relationship, the building blocks are there. I love how sweet and natural their relationship seems for both being supernatural. I am also loving Nick and Roz, their relationship seems genuine and real. As usual, everyone is keeping Evie in the dark about what is going on, and as a reader I am frustrated for her. Evie’s world is about rocked immensely. I love the twists and turns in this story and I am truly inspired by Evie’s unwavering faith and determination. This story was a page turner from beginning to end.
I voluntarily reviewed this book as an Advanced Readers Copy!
The second book pulls you in as easily as the first. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, sadness, betrayal, hatred, friendship and a centuries enduring love!
In this book we learn more of Nick, Liam and Evie’s past and how this could impact their futures! They are all fighting their destinies but seperately and not together due to mistrust, pride and anger.
I am looking foward to the next book in the series!
Locked in an underground bunker with the boy she first fell in love with, and her soul’s mate. And what’s worse, one is destined to kill her, and both would give his life to protect her. Liam and Nick are at odds with each other. Neither wants the other to be the one holding Evie’s hand, but Liam DEFINITELY doesn’t want Nick near Evie. He’s the destined Destroyer. He’s already killed her once and Liam won’t let it happen again. Evie is determined to survive somehow. Trapped underground, she’s learned some very surprising truths about herself. Truths she never would have guessed. She’s VIP in the underground and now she knows why. You won’t want to me this second installment on Evie’s journey of finding out who she really is. It’s an AMAZING story!!
Defying fate a girl is born, a love is forged that lasts eternally and a prophecy is challenged.
Evangeline embarks on her journey to what will become the new home to her and her friends for the duration of their schooling. Unsure of what lies ahead she draws strength from the bond she and Liam have. Liam vows that he will be there for her and with her every step of the way. No matter the hardships to come they’re in this together. While some friendships grow and become stronger others fall to the wayside. Evangeline faces lots of heartbreak and loss in this chapter of her live but she has also gained something that she never thought possible.
It was wonderful to see how much Evangeline grew and matured in this book. She’s become stronger and more knowledgeable. Evangeline and Liam make a great team. I really enjoyed Dark Side of the Moon. It was even better than the first book. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next in their story.
