This boxed set was amazing! After reading the first book, I had to read the other books. I wasn’t disappointed, a truly beautiful and awesome story.
Roman and Julianna were a hit.
I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving my review.
4.5 stars for Dark Romeo Trilogy by Sienna Blake.
This is a dark take on Romeo and Juliet . I am a huge fan of Romeo and Juliet , so I was a little leary when starting this story , however I am also a big fan of Sienna Blake’s book so I went for it. I am so glad that I did. I think I highlighted more quotes in this trilogy then any other book I have read. I just loved every page of it .
“My only love sprung from my only hate! To early seen unknown, and known to late! Prodigious birth of love it is me , that I must love loathed enemy.” Blake starts us off with this quote from Romeo and Juliet and I don’t anything could have described this books better.
Julianna has had a rough life. Her mother was murdered at a young age and she became a cop to try and solve the case. He father is the police chief and hates Roman’s family . Roman left his ruthless family as soon as he could for college . His brothers murder has brought him back . He thought he could come to the funeral and slip out without notice . Well everything changes after that .
“I don’t know if you ever met a women who made you crave her, who ….. Was like a drug. That you couldn’t get enough of. A woman you wanted to protect and worship always.”
God this trilogy just pulls you in . It keeps you on your toes all the way till the bitter end. It just build the drama and suspense between these families and Roman and Jules. I loved every word of this book , even the tears it made me cry. You cannot go wrong with this trilogy .
Love Sprung from hate
I would like to thank Terrie Arasin and Sienna Blake for giving me an e-arc of this box set! I’ve never read anything from Sienna Blake so I was really curious about this story, and I loved the fact it was a Romeo and Juliet retelling, truth be told I haven’t read many good ones, but this one was absolutely amazing. The writing was brilliant and the storytelling was fabulous, I will definitely be reading more Sienna Blake’s book that is for sure!
I loved Julianna she was so stubborn when it came to Roman and the fact she refused to give up on him when he’s brought in for murder, she refuses to give up on him and fights for him. Despite everyone saying he’s just like his family, I liked how she stuck with her own mind and feelings rather than being persuaded.
I loved the sniping and tension between Roman and Julianna whenever they were with each other, through this book I was on the edge of my seat, like damn what’s going to happen next! I loved their chemistry in this book as well as the sex in the story which was written very well. It was amazing how both of these characters were very similar especially in terms of their dad pushing them to do things they don’t want to. What also is weird is that their mum’s died on the same day, but how they both could connect over the pain they both had.
I have no idea how this story will end! I fell in love with this story and it’s characters and I became instantly hooked, I was so glad I had the second book because man I dove straight into it!
The Scent of roses
Wow, what is there to say about this book. Wow. wow. wow. wow. Well actually that is my whole theme for this series, I was so wow. I didn’t expect it, I didn’t expect anything in this story. I was in so much awe of this book, and again the writing was fantastic and well written.
I loved the whiplash between Roman and Julianna, how they would go back and forth, it just showed how much they were conflicted about what they should be doing compared to what they want to do. I loved how confusing it was for them because it showed to us that the characters were confused because at times I was confused by how they were feeling and the whiplash of back and forth.
Roman really didn’t think he was good enough to love and when it was finally shown, I was like no babe you are. You could tell that he really felt like that and it showed in some of his actions. Although when he could he really did still try and protective Julianna and push her away and let himself have a little bit of solace when he enjoys being with her. I loved the way Julianna and Roman are with each other and they each try and protect each other! It’s so adorable and cute.
I don’t like Julianna’s partner. I thought that in book 1 as well and even worse in this book.
It so hard not to write too many spoilery things, you guys should honestly go and read this trilogy it is amazing. Hopefully, I haven’t spoilt it too much!
Hanging in the stars
Oh, my god, this hurts my heart, I was thrown all over the place. I felt all the emotions and my heart was hurting and I just it was so perfect and I cried, and my heart oh my. I read this before Christmas and just thinking about it sends me all over the place and oh so many feelings that I still haven’t gotten over. I don’t think I will get over this for a long time. Especially as you know I did cry.
I loved that Roman stood up for everything, finally, he did. I also loved how he sacrificed everything for Julianna and was willing to lose her just to protect her and make sure she was okay.
Now, this is Romeo and Juliet retelling so if you know the original story you know there is going to be death. Now both Roman and Julianna’s fake death was so heartbreaking and heartwrenching which is when I cried. Like I kind of forgot it was a retelling until Roman “died” and I was like well damn this isn’t going to end happily. I was very depressed in that moment! But you know you go on with these heartbreaking stories. I loved this ending for a Romeo and Juliet story like I prefer this version and it sent me into a spin.
It was a beautiful ending and amazing writing. I can’t actually get this out of my head, I fell in love with this series and you should all definitely pick this up and read! I know for a fact I’ll be picking up more of Sienna Blake’s book. I did really want to go into more detail with all these books but I was trying to keep it spoiler free. If you’ve read these books let me know! If you haven’t, read them.
