great reading
Slightly better than Gone Girl (a pretty low bar); I actually finished this one. Had trouble caring much about the main character or the story line. Finished it mostly because I was curious how it would end, not because I was enjoying it.
Flynn is getting better with each book.
Very captivating.
Better than gone girl
Read every word Gillian Flynn has ever written – great author!!!
Interesting to watch the growth of the main character. It changed what I thought of her as I read her story.
Loved this book!!
This haunting story is a page turner and interesting. I enjoyed reading it and continued to be surprised by twists and turns.
This work is very edgy and surprising, beautifully written with hidden depths.
It’s an interesting study of the contrast between film and literature. Without the writing, the plot is a hard slog (film). What makes this book is the amazing writing itself; the plot is dynamic, with deep penetration into human nature, like all her books, but I much …
Well-written, but sad.
This original story is a gem among The Who-done-it genres! It’s writer uses excellent character study to keep the readers guessing; the story is fueled in by the next reveal of persona. An excellent read!
It’s Gillian Flynn so it already has a good pedigree. Of her three novels, I think this one is actually my favorite. The main character is so unique and her voice so real. She is witty, gritty and vulnerable. The plot is a twisty tunnel slide.
The only shame is this book was the first one made into a movie and it falls very flat. If you’ve …
I love Gillian Flynn’s books, always keep you guessing
Another romp with Flynn. If you enjoyed “Sharp Objects” this will appeal also.
Flynn is a very talented writer prepared to go to some very dark places. There is an incredible amount of anger, resentment and disturbed thinking in this book, but wow is it a page turner. How does someone live their life when their family is slaughtered one night and their only surviving sibling is held responsible?
I preferred this book to Gone …
I absolutely loved everything about this book. I don’t want to give anything away, so just read it!
This book was twistingly unpredictable. A great thriller/mystery. One of the best books I’ve read in awhile. For fans of Sharp Objects and Gone Girl, this one definitely does not disappoint.
Absolutely one of the most unpredictable books I have ever read. The end will leave you speechless!
Love the twists. The characters are complex and the story line rich. A must read for mature readers.
