A tough heroine will always rise to the occasion, and so will her heroes… years.
When Mila goes to rescue her sister from Zarblu’s sacrifice table, everything goes wrong. Lord Zarblu, stoneshifter and owner of the enormous black fortress looming over the city, turns his gaze upon Mila, and he’s a big, strong, determined male who’s had a thousand, thousand years to contemplate life and love-making.
STEEL
Doing it with orcs is taboo, but Ember is going to die so why not take every inch of what she’s always wanted and screw society’s taboos… and her half-orc guard, Hoss. When they get rescued by a psychotic cyborg called Baz, Ember begins to see the advantage in having two hulking warlike males by her side.
Correction – make that two hot males who want in her pants, her bed, and maybe her heart.
BLADE
More than sparks will fly – fur, spiky bits, and possibly tentacles – when Ledderik, a depressed cyborg, saves Thorn from death and gets sucked into the wake of her cataclysmic siren attraction.
She has such a cute … tail. There are just a couple of small problems: Led no longer owns his body, and Thorn has been declared a biohazard on most planets. The two of them cross the galaxy, with Led swapping from loaner body to loaner body. The hot ex-cyborg has one priority – make sure the downstairs department is BIG.
These are the pansy dark books you reach for when you’re all darked out and one step from seeing a therapist. They’re carnal, naughty, and twisted, and not what your mother ever wanted you to read. Also, there may be some robots that go PEW PEW.

Cari has managed to get her Dark Monsters into a boxset.
It must’ve been quite a battle getting them to comply, but here they are.
Together. For your pleasure.
Prey:
This is a delicious tale of a sassy, strong girl, called Mila, who wants to save her sister from being sacrificed to the stoneshifter lord Zarblu. Since Mila’s infected with a strange “virus” that’s slowly taking over her body,it seems only fair, right? What happens? You want to know? I’m not telling ! You need to find out….but you’ll love it,i can tell you that!
Steel:
Anything Cari comes up with, turns out só good! I don’t know how she does it….if only i could take a peek inside that head of hers!
I loved Ember and how Hoss and Baz made her see life from a different angle,as well as how she changed their lives. And i adore Ig,i wish i had a little friend like that,so adorable!
I hate CESS and what they’ve done to Baz. And those cybermonks? Can they trust them?
I absolutely loved Steel!
Blade:
Blade is Ledderik’s story. He finds himself adrift after Zarblu set him free to do whatever he feels like. He could torture and kill anyone if he felt like it,but the appeal seems to have gone with his master. He is ready to throw in the towel and enter the virtworld LoL,leaving his body for others to enjoy. When he crosses paths with Thorn,a s’kar with a surprising side causing her trouble,he finds a new purpose and decides to help her. He strikes a deal with the LoL boss, and in his loanerbody he joins Thorn in her search for a solution. What happens on their journey……you have to find out yourself,i am not telling you! Prepare to have fun, because it’s going to be a wonderful story. One you will enjoy,i promise!
Cari has created a world that’s full of possibilities, like loaner bodies with bonus parts (that i would love to try out), sweet sirens and AI’s with a wicked sense of humor.
And now you can travel this world in this boxset until your head spins, and your core burns with a need to find a Monster of your own!
Prey:
oh dear need clean sheets
Another wonderful start to an another questionable series
What can I say Silverwood is one of the few authors who can blend absolutely make your panties melt raw animalistic sex and sci-fi and come up with an engaging and exciting story with a real plot line to boot
It’s erotica on steroids
Steel:
A sexy and stimulating read that blends a bit of “prim and proper” with a dash of “man and machine” topped off with a magnificent sized portion of the “animal” inside
What can I say – I absolutely loved it!!
This is book two in the series and it just gets better
These are fun – out of this universe stories that mix together sarcasm and wit with the sexy dub con that we love and expect from Silverwood
Ember is a prin “CESS” – who, like many that are afraid of judgment and condemnation, keeps hidden her darkest fantasies and desires – until death seems to be imminent. Then all bets are off the table and all desires are going to be fed
Hoss has always admired Ember from afar – his job is to protect her – to make sure her needs are met – and he has just the tool to ensure the job gets done
Baz wants his member upgraded – he was told if he rescued a princess the upgrade would be completed – well it seems his lucky day because a princess is hailing him now and he has no intentions of letting her slip away
This was such a fun and engaging read – loved the action and the plot twist and the “puns” and – yeah -this was definitely an out of this world love story
Blade:
After searching for centuries to complete the ‘quest’ that would make him complete (previous book) Led finally was gifted with his “otherworldly” appendage – he is now complete (sort of) -but it seems his trails and tribulations may have all been for naught – Still unhappy and a bit jaded and with his trusty blade and side-annoyance Smorg at his side -he sets out to live his last day before trading this reality for a virtual one more to his liking. But as seems to always be the case for our cynical cyborg Led encounters a Thorn of a woman who he just can’t seem to displease. Unable to abandon such a “frail” maiden Thorn gallantly volunteers his “bodies” to ensure her safe filling (fleeing? filling? whatever you get the idea) And so begins the arduous adventure of body switching (snatching?) – mystery solving – snarky ship smuggling and let us not forget the all-important pleasure mapping
For those of you just tuning in to this adventure – this is a sexy fantasy tale that is filled with lots of filthy adventures and risque explorations into deep spaces not to mention the quick maneuvering and slippery escapades that seem to follow our band of travelers
If you enjoy long tails, unique tools, and new and wondrous appendages then this is a must read
I think this may be my fave of the series so far
Dark Monster is an amazing series of fantasy sci-fi books that will make you pant like their animalistic characters. They’re erotic, provocative and wild. I have all three books, and the vividly creative characters and settings are unapologetically untamed, devious, and packed full of action and heat. These were some of the first books of this genre I’ve read, and I’m now a diehard fan! I highly recommend it!
Lucky you! You can now get all 3 books in a set. I read each of these books separately but instead of you having to lay around waiting for each of the books they now come as a boxed set! I wrote these reviews as I read the books individually but I think you will be able to get that I really loved reading these books. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did. Oh and read the warnings.
Prey
Mila’s sister Tiana is to be sacrificed to Lord Zarblu and Mila must try to rescue Tiana. Mila is a mercenary-thief, star-rover, explorer of dead planets to find remnants worth selling. Prey is a novella so it is a quick book to read and I wouldn’t want to give anything away.
I want to know what world does Cari Silverwood live in? She wows you with these little worlds of fantasy and make believe. These are usually dark worlds and not for the faint of heart. Hence the warning.
Warning that Cari Silverwood has provided if you don’t like graphic books don’t read this one.
I loved reading Prey and give it 4.5 stars. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Steel
When I read Cari Silverwood’s books I often wonder how in the world did she come up with her characters for these fantasy suspense stories of hers. I am not sure I will ever know these things but, what I do know is Cari Silverwood can write! Her books are always entertaining, they can be a little dark or all the way to very dark & disturbing. They are always thought provoking and she likes to push boundaries as much and as often as she can. I guess that is what I love about her books.
Steel is the second book in the Dark Monster Fantasy. Each of these books can be read as a complete Standalone.
If you like dark suspenseful and Hot as Sin books then you need to read this book.
Steel is the story of Baz Rutland a cyborg with a lost soul. Ember is “A Principle Data extraction expert employed by CESS Industries – a princess in lay terms.” And Hoss is Half Orc, half Shag, and a hairy beast, he shaves to blend into the mass of humanity populating the galaxies.
So as far as dark books go this one is on the lighter side of dark. I love Cari Silverwood’s warning. It is oh so true and almost funny. Here it is.
Warning:
“Like PREY, this book is not gritty uber-dark such as Cari Silverwood often writes. It is the pansy dark you reach for when you’re all darked out and one step from seeing a therapist.
It’s carnal, naughty, and very twisted, and not what your mother ever wanted you to read. Also, there may be some robots that go PEW PEW.”
I loved reading Steel and I give it 4.5 stars and as per usual I can’t wait to read her next book.
Blade
Cari Silverwood – Blade. I love the cover! I think it is very telling how the story will be. Blade is the third book in the Dark Monster Fantasy series. We meet Ledderik aka Led (he was first introduced in Prey) & Thorn. In the beginning Ledderik isn’t very nice. Until he meets Thorn. Ledderik has just about used his body up and needs a new one. And, with the bodies that Led chooses he makes sure he has a priority to upsize his appendages. Yes, you read that correctly, appendages and he knows how to use them! Thorn is half sexy siren & half S’kar. She needs to choose which one she wants to be and Led has a preference for which one she chooses.
Cari Silverwood writes with humor & sarcasm! She knows how to make a book interesting, hot & sexy! This isn’t the first book that Cari has had a tentacled character either.
This is an entertaining story for sure. 5 Stars
Lucky for those who gets to read this set! I read each of these separately and am sooo glad the author has put this into a set. It’s a great deal and I couldn’t pass it up. My review for each is below.
Prey
We meet Mila as she is on her way to rescue her sister from being the sacrifice of a stoneshifter, Lord Zarblu. Somehow, things don’t work out the way Mila plans so she does what she can with whatever cards she is dealt with. However, will it be enough to save her sister or will it all be for naught?
I wasn’t sure what to think of this book at first. It’s not as dark as I thought it would be but there are still some moments that made me pause and think, “how plausible is that?” I wish that it wasn’t a short read as I would have like to read more about this world Ms. Silverwood has introduced. Hopefully she will write more as there are other characters she can cover. Overall, I did enjoy the book and if you need something to read while you are in between books, check this book out.
Steel
I rather enjoyed this second book in this series. Ember, the heroine, is smart and can pretty much defend herself if needed to. However, sometimes it helps to have BIG help. Lucky her, she doesn’t just have one, but two very BIG helpers in Hoss and Baz.
I do have to say though, having not read the blurb, I was at first confused as who was the hero. The cover picture lead me to believe it was Baz and yet Hoss couldn’t be discounted as well.
Another thing too, I may be a little naive and less sexually educated than others, but…is it possible with some of the sex scenes? I mean it was HOT as heck and I am jealous of Ember and I can surely fantasize about this and most likely will for a long while but it really has me thinking. LOL. I should not over analyze things and just go with the flow.
Blade
So…I know I’ve been waiting for this book to be dropped since the “anti-hero” was introduced to us in the first book. From all the discussion I’ve seen on the cover, I was trying to figure out how any of it would have been done. Totally was not what I had in mind at all! And yes, I had a nice chuckle at that line “Come with me if you want to live”. Considering that he did terminate beings if told too, hahaha.
Thorn was unexpected and a nice surprise. I thought it might have been someone else who was going to be the heroine, but I am glad things turned out the way they did. That “someone” got her just deserts, LOL.
The ending though…at first I was like “WTH?!?!” but then after some explanation, I liked how it ended. Im glad Ledderik got his HEA. BUT…what is Ledderik’s final result????
Prey
How to describe this book??. Well, it is a real Cari Silverwood book.
That means you get a unique world with beings you have never seen or read about before. And some kinky stuff. It is the first Stone Shifter story I ever read about.
.I really liked Mila. What I loved about her most was that she was down to earth and very realistic. She took what life threw at her, accepted it and moved on what needed to be down. And she kicked a**.
Lord Zarblu is a stone shifter. Ancient and set in his ways in a lot of things, but not oppose to change. i felt he was a philosopher. Very knowledgeable and wanting to learn more.
He and Mila made sense. They may look different on outside, but were actually very much alike.
I really enjoyed the book.
Steel
What can I say about this book? I really loved it. There wasn’t anything about this book that I didn’t love.
I kept thinking this would make such a great movie. It was easy to visualize the characters and the world that cari Silverwood created. It is a little goofy and silly and not to mention hot. It made me laugh and cheered me up while I was having a bad day..
It has a great cast of characters. Not only the main characters. Who would come up with a human, a cyborg and a half breed orc and shag. There are also unique secondary characters like the cybermonks. And there is Ig. I want one.
So if you want a fun, hot and unique read, then this is the book for you.
Blade
The third book in the Dark Monster Fantasy series. If you enjoy a witty, action packed, sexy book with lots of sci fi elements all wrapped up in one book, then this is the book for you.
I have to be honest and say that I had a bit of trouble getting into the book. There was just so much going on, it was a bit of a information overload, but things fell into place once they started their journey.
I felt that in this book the journey was not just a psychical journey, but also a journey of exploring yourself and finding out what you want and need.
Monster Mash!
PREY
What can you say about a stone monster?
A walking, talking, thinking and feeling mountain !
When Mila, scavenger Extraordinaire, rushes to the rescue of her sister, the intended sacrifice for the ruler of Dispora, she is in for a whole lot of surprises!
None of her well thought out plans for the rescue have the intended outcome. But one thing becomes very clear, the lord Zarblu intends to have his sacrifice and keep her.
Stone-clad he may be but is he stone-hearted? Can a hard monster turn into a squishy monster?
Find out!
This is a very hot, fun, inventive and surprisingly thoughtful story.
STEEL
What starts out as a well thought out “girl afraid to admit to her needs”, waffling between humping across the landscape with two, I repeat: two huuuge man/beasts, and trying to keep her job by adhering to her society’s standards, turns into a, drool worthy, tale with much deeper meaning.
Ms Silverwood’s penchant for inventing her own “language” makes for many giggles and calls for her own dictionary.
Being written as a light, funny, sexy tale, this book transports a very old adage: Power corrupts,…..
BLADE
The “male-chicken” (edited for sensitive readers) -less Cyborg? Now he has the appendage Lord Zarblu bequeathed to him to make him “whole”.
But does it make him happy, or what counts as happy for a Cyborg?
Doesn’t look like it. So he sells all his worldly belongings and commits himself to a virtual reality … Whatchamacallit?!
On his last day “alive”, left with only Smorg, his irritating sword, he encounters Thorn, Starship captain in waiting and unwitting magnet of unwanted “attention”. Including his.
And that’s when the problems start!
Ledderik and Thorn form a bond that, at first, feels bewildering to them, but grows in intensity as they hump their way across half a galaxy to find answers to their growing challenges.
With her usual irreverent language Ms Silverwood drags you into the story and I for one, followed her willingly, chortling, cackling and hesitating when I encountered profound insights wrapped in snarky comments.
This is one more hilarious, inventive and seriously sweltering … Yes it is a love story, believe it or not!
Prey was a fun read with Mila and Zarblu who is a Stone-Shifter. I won’t try to explain the situations they get themselves into but I loved the ending that I couldn’t even think of myself. Enjoy these stories, you won’t be disappointed, I promise.
Steel. Baz wants the one thing he lacks, a manly package. If Baz delivers a princess, he’s been promised the junk he’s been wanting. Ember is that princess but wants Hoss whohas some giant junk that she wants. The three get it on as Ember’s little dragon-like friend from childhood joins them in their many adventures.
Blade, Ledderick is a body-jumper, Smorge his talking sword and Thorn, an unknown siren of unknown origins with her ship Jocelyn who transforms to become a part of the adventuresome trio. Thorn experiences an apocolypse of sex that undoes her at one point in this fun, exciting, dangerous adventure story. Great books, enjoyable stories and interesting monster/lovers make this trio of stories an interesting reading experience you won’t forget easily, for some time to come.
