A half blood, three sexy protectors, and a death that will ignite a supernatural war.
I never fit in at high school and now I know why. As it turns out, I’m not quite human. My guidance counselor recognizes something in me—power—and enrolls me at Marcovian University where I can master my gift.
I finally feel as though I belong even though I’m only a half blood by their estimation. Since I’m … estimation. Since I’m not pure, the chancellor insists on appointing protectors for my safety which is a joke. My so-called protector, Drax, clearly wants nothing to do with me and, believe me, the feeling is mutual. Trey all but balks at the notion of watching over me. And then there’s Wyatt, lethal and sexy as hell, but he seems to have his mind on one thing. If I’m to survive potential threats, I need someone to focus on more than my body no matter how good it feels.
I know I should be grateful, but I start to think I may be better off on my own. I’ve always looked out for myself. Why stop now?
But when a student turns up dead and I’m the prime suspect, I have no choice but to rely on my protectors. I’ve already got a target on my back as a half breed, but if word gets out that I may have killed one of their own, it will put my life in peril.

Book review of Dark Magic University: A Paranormal Academy Romance by Jenna Edon
Whoa! I loved this book! It was well written, with vivid world building and awesome characters to get invested in!
I am looking forward to Book 2!
I received this as an Advance reader copy from Booksprout.
The beginning is quite the splash giving us a peek into Harper’s world before everything starts to change. As we read about her human life questions are starting to buzz around in our ahead and once she starts the new school more and more join in. The blurb feels a little off from the overall character interactions, but is easily forgiven by the draw of the story. I was surprised by a few things that did not occur such as no student attacks or hate towards her even the mean girl type crew that tends to exist in every school book ever. I expected the ex or a few to pop up and cause trouble. What feels like the overall series storyline is intriguing and can only grow from here. I can’t wait to see where it goes next; how the relationship grow and evolve, deepening the characters histories and individuality’s, and finding out what Harper is?!
We have a little mystery and suspense. Harper is starting anew, but what happens when she goes to a party and is late for school? Will her foster mom send her to Military School or will she go somewhere else? Who are these guys that are protecting her? Are they really doing that or do they hate her? What happen to my new friend? Who killed her? Will they blame me?

Beware…I found this one difficult to put down; grabbed my attention and kept it throughout. Pretty much read this in one sitting, much to my husband’s disappointment. Never read anything from Jenna before but definitely will be looking for more by her and looking forward to the next installment from this series!

This book is just getting started and already has a strong plot and strong characters. Harper discovers she is not quite human when a guidance counselor enrolls her at the Dark Magic University, recognizing her power that she will need to learn about and control. Being a half-blood, the chancellor of the school assigns three protectors, none of whom appear to want the job. Drax, Wyatt, and Trey are there to watch over her and help her fit in.
Thinking she can handle things herself as she always has, she realizes she needs her protectors’ help when a student turns up dead with Harper being the prime suspect. Will the guys step up and help her with this?
The story was well-written and pulls the reader in immediately. The story line has good pacing and strong characters to make it interesting. Grab your copy and enjoy!
A half-blood with strong magic. Harper has had a tough time in school. She is restless, gets in trouble even though it usually isn’t her fault, and her foster mom Carol has threatened her with military school. Then one night when her best friend forces her to go to a party in the woods, several students ply her with beer, but she didn’t know it’s laced with a magical drug. She has hallucinations and wakes up the next morning in the woods, is late for school, and is called to the principal. He realizes she has magic and sends her to a university for magical beings but because she has been raised human, has no control of magic, nor any that she knows of, she is given three protectors. A werewolf, a fae, and a vampire. When she finds out that the party in the woods resulted in a girl being killed and she was a supernatural, Harper is afraid because most of the school dislikes her for her human blood and if they knew she was at the party they might accuse her. She has already been targeted several times and almost died. Her three guys saved her but can they save her from imprisionment? It was a good start for this new series of Ms Ebon. The story is well written with an interesting plot. My only complain is thay Harper accept quite easily everything supernaturals, the fact that she has magic and she’s not even a bit afraid. But i still enjoyed my read and i can’t wait to see what happen next.

Wow!!!
Dark Magic had me sucked in from the start. I have sooooo many questions that I’m hoping are answered in book 2. I love that Harper is a take no sh!t kind of girl and her three “protectors” don’t scare her one bit!!!
I’m really, really excited to read the second book in this series! It was so good!!!
I recieved an ARC for my honest review.
This was captivating from the first page. Harper was a great character. She was strong and could hold her own when it counted. When she goes to a party in the woods with her friends, something happened that she can’t remember. Her foster mother was going to ship her to military school but instead, the school counselor sent her to Dark Magic University. There she meets her 3 protectors, Drax, Wyatt and Trey. Things get tricky as she tries to maneuver the school and her feelings for all 3 of her protectors. When the truth comes out about what happened that night, she is forced into a situation that she never really understood. I can not wait to read the next book.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It’s a pretty typical paranormal college rh book, but it was well done and interesting. The world building was good, the characters interesting and for the most part believable, and the plot was engaging and unique. Well worth the read and a look at the second book. There were a few grammatical errors that should be corrected.
