“Neal is a powerful writer, and her prose is often effortless and elegant.” Kirkus Reviews
Grab this fast paced mystery with a twist of romance, and take a trip to Hawaii with the series that’s sold more than a million copies!

It’s ok – the writing is a bit bouncy and light. It’s rather predictable and the characters don’t always seem to have motive for the choices they make.
Easy to read “page turner.”
A detective story that includes Hawaiian cultural information. Engaging characters.
great
A good read!
I have enjoyed many of the books with these characters, I hope to read more,
Great series
Disjointed writing. Poor transitions
Another enjoyable book in this series
Mystery got sidetracked. The main characters are like high school student, naive, impose, and simple minded. The book is badly formated.
Toby Neal is always a good read especially if you love the islands.
A good twist to plot, not what you are expecting
The only disappointing aspect of this book is that it finishes 1/2 way thru the action & then you need to buy the next book so you can finish the story
Easy to read ~ entertaining.
Lovethis whole series
I’ll read another of Dunbar’s thrillers
Lei and Stevens are real, intelligent and just as full of doubts as the rest of us. Looking forward to watching them develop as parents.
I like the fact that not only is this a good murder mystery, but an introduction to Hawaiian culture as well. The characters are well developed and continuing to evolve as the series continues. I found the two torrid sexual scenes in the book totally unnecessary and they were what kept me from giving it 5 stars.
Great plot. Great main characters. Love the Hawaiian setting. Twisty. Fun to read.
Loved it – looking forward to next installment of Lei Texeira’s life!
