Rip Marston is a merciless killing machine. After a decade of hunting his prey, Rip joins the Zetas. The job offers protection as he practices his dark arts, but the Cartel are wary of the monster in their midst. Finding a badly beaten unconscious girl, Rip sees an opportunity. Posing as her saviour will please the cartel – and provide him with his very own helpless captive. Isabella Maria Franco … captive.
Isabella Maria Franco is beautiful, wilful and used to making hard choices. Having grown up in the comfortable but lethal embrace of the Gulf cartel, she rejected a life of violence. But when a dark presence from her past returns, her world falls apart. Betrayed and beaten, she escapes, only to find herself in a living nightmare. Surrounded by her enemies, one man stands between her and death. Terrified, she embraces his darkness, an action that leads to consequences neither anticipated.

Seeing the Zeta Cartel on iTunes was a great excuse to re-read the series, and since Dark Hunter is one of those stories i really enjoyed,i couldn’t wait to get back to Rip and Morgan!
https://books.apple.com/nl/book/dark-hunter/id1545727336
Rip wasn’t born the killer he’s become, and Morgan only wanted to live her life in peace.
These two people were both alone, and both just needed someone that really cared.
Rip was drowning in his darkness, and Morgan was his light, she made him feel!
But he was a bad man,and she deserved someone that could give her a normal life.
With his enemies closing in,he needed above all,to keep her safe,though…..
And the longer he had her,the more he felt, and the more difficult it became to ever let her go.
Once Morgan knew Rip’s background, she started to see his behaviour for what it was,a mask to hide the pain.
And thinking about the way he nursed her back to life, the gentleness with which he treated her,she knew without a shadow of a doubt he was a good man deep down…..very deep down.
In fact, after her initial fear, she started to have feelings for him……
These two may not have been Zetas, but they fit into the cartel seamlessly.
And once the Zetas embrace someone, they do so wholeheartedly.
It really is a “match made in heaven”……

Trust AJ to come up with this dark gem! Damn….i’m still in recovery….my heart’s still racing…
Rip is a coldblooded killer ever since his entire family was murdered and he’s nowhere near slowing down. Morgan is a cartel girl that wants to live a quiet life, doing what she likes, without that cartel. She gets beaten so badly when she rejects a man from her past, that by the time Rip finds her by chance, she’s near dying. Helping her heal, serves a purpose for him…it’s a way to look human to those around him….I love Morgan, sweet, strong and resilient in spite of what she went through. And Rip….oh,boy….that man thinks he’s bad news, but deep down, very deep down,he’s not….and i love him for who he is! And getting to know what the Zeta’s are up to? The best!
Ok, I have to say I was so very excited to get Dark Hunter that I had to read it right away. I am so glad I did. It was awesome! I was intrigued by Rip when I read about him in a later story and couldn’t wait to know more about him. His past is so multifaceted that he is captivating in his ability to immerse himself into his work, and still function. His meeting Morgan was cake.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book.
Rip is considered to be a monster, well a monster with rules and principals. Does that make what he does ok? It started with revenge fueled by loss of the worse kind. It changes things, changed him. He was a killer no matter how you put it, and he was vicious. How can he be loved you may ask but watch as this author makes you a believer. It’s a great game of cat and mouse for them both. But she has things to teach him as well. Like the other women in this series she shows us she isn’t a push over while showing us the monster has a heart. She sees what no one else can and does for him what no one else will do. They are a pair doing a dance and the author plays it well. It’s a great story about a man who has shown himself to be unlovable and all the way to the end of the book is marveling over the changes. From beginning to end they fight for each other even when she should be heading for the hills. It’s dark and twisted and another stellar read from this author. I can’t wait for more.
Confession: I binge read the four books in a weekend….. OMG I could NOT STOP READING!
This series is fanfreakintastic. The author has done a brilliant job writing this cartel series. The characters are all perfectly flawed, but all are strong, determined and loyal- including the female MCs! The storyline is filled with twists, turns, violence, betrayals, heat, action, drama and dark elements….deliciously dark…
Rip Marston is a killer who has always worked for himself but when he is offered a job working for Arturo Vazquez he decides to take the extra protection that the cartel offers. Yet he knows he also must gain the trust of Arturo’s men to prove his loyalty.
Morgan is a mechanic and also works at a pub. She has been “seeing” Mitch but when she declines his advances she finds herself fighting for her life.
When Rip finds Morgan barely alive he decides to keep her but will Morgan be ready to trade one prison for another?
This was such a great book and I enjoyed it from start to finish.
I thought Rip was a great and intense character. I understood why he decided to work with Arturo and I was shocked at how much Arturo knew. I liked that he wanted to help Morgan stay alive and was trying to find out what she was escaping from.
I loved Morgan and I was so mad at everything that happened to her at the beginning of the book. She was set up so badly and I hated it. I could completely understand her lack of trust of people. I liked that she gradually began to trust Rip and the other women who lived with the Zetas.
There was so much chemistry between the Rip and Morgan and I was curious if anything would change once the truth came out.
I was curious to see what Rip was going to do when he learned what had happened to Morgan and I definitely was not disappointed!!
The end was awesome and I loved that Rip and Morgan stayed together!!
Wowzers! If I thought the other books in the series were a little dark, welcome to Dark Hunter–such an aptly named title!
Rip was not born into the Cartel life or anything similarly to it. He had some major bad stuff go down growing up and it shaped him into a killing machine. Legit, he had NO emotions at all and very much so enjoyed taking his revenge. He had no loyalties just vengeance on his mind.
Morgan is a straight shooter that actually grew up in the Cartel life, but wanted nothing to do with it and just wanted the picket fence kind of life. She had a run in with a guy from her past and that all went down in flames.
Rip rescued Morgan and saw his helpfulness with her as an opportunity to not let his crazy show too much to the Zetas, who value women.
This story is not easy, but it is full of wonderful turns. If you have read the rest of the series, you are going to love this next installment that has cameos from the rest of the crew.
If you have not read the other stories, this is a standalone, but it is more fun having the background from the other books.
READ THIS RIGHT NOW!!!
This is book four in the series and can be read as a standalone but you really should read all the books in order to fully enjoy this book. It has characters from every book and it is amazing!
Rip lord have mercy Rip has had a bad life. He was young when he lost his family. He became a cold and calculated killer and hunted down his prey until he killed them all. Feeling lost in the world with no real place to call home he joins the Zetas and has an instant family. Only the Zetas don’t fully trust him because he is a loose cannon and they can’t get a good read on him. That is until one day he does an unexpected act of kindness and that changes everything for him and the Zetas.
One day Rip finds a badly beaten woman and he rescues her bringing her home to take care of her. Isabella is scared at first when she is saved by Rip because she knows he is a dangerous man but as they get to know each other things change for the both of them. They soon find themselves enjoying each others company. But one thing lingers for them both can they build a relationship or will the monsters and demons they carry ruin them?
Disturbing but oh so delightful – I loved the story of Rip and Morgan!
Rip lost his family in one fell swoop and set out to make sure those that took them from him would pay in a very big way. His actions released something dark within him that kept him busy for ten years doing what he did best – deal out death. When he saved Arturo’s live in London an offer was made for him to come to Mexico where he was offered something he had been looking for – a place to be safe and perhaps protected – by taking on a job for the Zeta Cartel. When “Morgan” washes up on his riverfront beach barely alive and badly beaten he takes her on for his own reasons but in so doing curries favor with the cartel. Morgan and Rip have a roller coaster ride that involves more than one cartel, a cartel war and a very different kind of relationship that works for both of them.
What amazes me about this series and books this author writes is that flawed people others would consider dark devils with fiendish qualities find women that provide a bright warm spot in their lives – women that see into them, see the multifaceted men they truly are and accept and love them because the men are just what these women need in all ways always. The women are always plucky, smart, often damaged, and courageous but most of all women I would love to call friend. I eagerly look forward to each book this author writes and wonder now what will come next.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest opinion.
