A Hunter with a secret. A string of mysterious deaths. And a foul-mouthed Siamese cat familiar. What could possibly go wrong? I’m the best there is at what I do, and what I do isn’t pretty. If a demon crosses over to our side of the Veil, or if a werewolf goes feral and kills an innocent—they send me. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, and the pay usually sucks. But I do what it takes to keep my … it takes to keep my belly full and a roof over my head.
When the Council, the group of angel-born who’d shunned me all those years ago, offer me a job, I have no choice but to take it. Everything would have worked out fine if the Council hadn’t forced me to work the case with Jax—the devilishly handsome and mysterious angel-born warrior.
But something doesn’t smell right. Literally. The deeper I dig, the worse it gets. Turns out these murders are not what they seem. They’re much, much worse…

Dark Hunt is a thrilling paranormal story, which will have you reading late into the night. I devoured it, and I couldn’t stop.
Rowyn is a hunter, but she doesn’t know what else she is either. Sworn to hunt demons and not be part of the Legion. She’s out on her own. I loved Rowyn she is a great character. A strong female, with a good heart and she’s not going to let anyone bring her down. I loved her witty banter, I love a strong-willed female. My favorite show of all time is Buffy. And I see a little bit of Buffy in her as well.
The cast of characters, you quickly fall in love with. I want to write this review but not give you every detail of this story.. and it’s so hard! Dark Hunt is a brilliant start to a series and Richardson never disappoints. It has so much action from the beginning and never stops. You’re left in the dark, not knowing what else is lurking around the corner. The mystery that surrounds this whole story is just excellent. I never and I wasn’t able to guess what was happening.
Of course, I have to give this Five Boundless Stars

Good book. This book should have had me at hello. It ticks all the boxes: kick-ass heroin, hot love interest, snarky familiar, action galore. The story line and world aren’t unique but with such a jam-packed genre, you can’t really expect that.
I just saw a review that called it ‘derivative of Supernatural’ – I’ve never really watched the show, only seen bits and pieces or ads, but I can understand why they said it.
I was never able to emotionally connect with the characters. I kept thinking I would. In fact, that thought actually took me out of the story a few times because I repeatedly found myself asking when I would connect. It has a lot of 4-star reviews, so I surmise the issue is on my end and not really the author. Sometimes things just aren’t your cup of tea.
It is full of action and fast paced, to the detriment of character development in my opinion. I kept finding myself wanting ‘more’; more depth of world, character, relationships, and background. To me, it felt flat and one-dimensional. Overall it was enjoyable but didn’t pull me into the world the way I was expecting it to.
I would recommend you giving it a try if you enjoy this genre, especially if you have KU or a library card and can read it for free. There are a bunch more books in the series and I love coming in to a series when I don’t have to wait for the next book. I’ll likely read more but there are so many others waiting for my attention, I feel that this one may not be worth putting the others on the back burner for.
A very interesting read, good characters, lots of action, fast moving plot with many twists and turns.
Potential for a very good story. Good action interspersed.
Have you ever wanted to be a bounty hunter? How about a hunter of demons? Follow Rowyn through this adventure and you may feel the energy involved with supernatural detective work. I wonder if she survives?
Cool series.
A down on her luck paranormal hunter triumphs in the end.
I really liked it, very exciting, not sure what to expect next, what with all the action going on pretty much non-stop. I hardly ever get scared, but for some out there i would say it would be for them. Keeps you in the edge of your seat, i enjoyed this the story, Dark Hunt.
Very good. And I’m picky. I enjoyed the originality
Love the series and can’t wait for the next installment!
I liked it
Read it in one sitting; couldn’t put it down.
I absolutely loved it. It’s been a long time since I have enjoyed a book this much. I’m in love wit he baal demon cat, what can I say, I want one. If I could get this book a 10 star rating I would.
My favorite character was the cat. Honestly I found the plot a bit predictable and the love interest a little boring. I did like the fact that the main heroine has common flaws like clumsiness. It humanized her. It was an average read. Hoping it picks up in the next book.
