There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept … but have now awoken. For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief … vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world … and Callie along with it.
But it’s not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des’s father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place.
Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all … and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

One of my favourite books ever!
What fabulous ending to this epic series!!!! I Have so enjoyed this series!!! The characters are so intriguing and the night kingdom and and it’s people beautiful and magical. Des and Callie’s love story was everything I love ,it had hot steamy sex, awesome chemistry, humor and great banter and the cherry on top was a love story and the happily ever after!!! The bad guys were evil as f##k,but provided a action packed read that I will remember for awhile. Laura Thalassa ‘s night kingdom is fabulous and her writing is excellent. It takes a awesome writer to hold my attention thur three books!! Can’t wait read more of this author’s books. I’m a fan for life!
This book series was SO good! I truly hate for it to end. I have a HORRIBLE book hangover because it’s gonna be so hard to find another book boyfriend quite like Des. This book had more sexy steamy scenes, more battles, and more darkness but it was a great end to a great series. I’m looking forward to checking into more of Thalassa’s works.
If you want a dark fantasy romance with twists and suspense, this book series is for you! 🙂
I feel the need to read something innocent and sweet next just to cleanse my palette because there was way too much sex to skim over in book 3, and I’m rather glad to be done with this trilogy. I would give this book 2.5 stars due to the fact that the author threw in some pretty savage twists and kept me guessing during the climax of the story. I didn’t quite know what to think or how she was going to resolve things, and you know I like it when an author can still surprise me.
OMG this book is a rollercoaster of emotions!!!… I laughed, cried, cursed, feared, hated, a lot of cry… It exceeded my expectations… And that HEA!!!… I’m so happy!!! … Hopefully we can get a spinoff in the near future, totally in love whit this series, perfect finale!!!
I knew from the moment I’ve read that first book’s prologue that I’m gonna love this series.
Laura Thalassa didn’t disappoint. Need I say more?
What an epic conclusion to this series. I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters but I’m holding out hope that the author revisit this world again (ya know, that ending?)
What a great way to end a series!!! Fantastic read!!!
Laura Thalassa sank her claws into my heart and didn’t let go until the end. A totally fantastic ending to the Bargainer Series!
“I was dying, and he was unwilling to let me go.”
I don’t even know how to start this review, or what to say really. The only thing that comes to mind is to just say how freaking amazing this was, and how Laura can really do no wrong. Dark Harmony was EVERYTHING. It was AMAZING. Getting more of Des and Callie was just so awesome. This is book 3 in the series, and you have to read the books in order. I honestly can’t go much into detail because I don’t want to spoil the greatness that is the Bargainer Series. I will say, I’m not a huge PNR fan, and this book even though it is PNR (fae) it is amazing. I was completely shocked (and very much pleased) at how much sex was in this story. There wasn’t like an over abundance of it, but a good amount, and it just made the story that much better.
“Sweet siren,” he says between kisses, “you better sharpen those claws. Tonight I don’t plan on being nice.”
Des and Callie are 100% one of my favorite fiction couples. I love them together, and I each of their characters separately. They’re both amazing, and when they come together -no pun intended- it’s that much more spectacular. Dark Harmony was the perfect conclusion to their story, and one I will never forget. Props to you Laura, you’re freaking amazing. Thank you for writing one of the best couples in fiction!!!! I’m still always going to hold out hope that it’s not the end, and I hope we’ll see more of them!
Anyways, if you’re a heavy PNR fan, or someone who just dabbles in it, trust me, this series is FIRE. It’s amazing, and one you should definitely read!
It goes without saying, Laura, you have a forever fan in me!!

5 All the way! This is a finale you won’t want to miss.
The final book in the series, I don’t want it to end. I love Callie and Des, such a great, passionate, and loving couple. This book was full of drama, angst, secrets, discoveries, and how love conquers all. There were parts that the ugly cry came out big time and there were parts where I was on the edge of my seat!!!!! I loved how their friends rallied around them even allies that have become friends. I will say that Laura has such a talent with her descriptions of the kingdoms in all of the books but how she wrote about the pit in this book, I could just picture it and it was so frightening. In the end I found out a lot of answers to questions that I had. The epilogue was perfect, especially the last secret Des has. Hope to hear more about this wonderful couple when Laura writes about the other kingdoms.
This series just got better and better. Loved the character development, particularly Callie coming into her own, and Des just happy to stand back and let her do her thing
Great ending – love me a HEA.
All the stars!
So…um…yeah…
This was a great read. I was glued to the pages and quite enjoyed it. I loved the suspense that was built up and the possibility of what the heck was going to happen. I loved finally figuring out who the villain was in the story but man oh man i did not expect it to go down the way that it did. I love the intertwining story line from book one to book three. There were so many little snippets of information that I did not realize were relevant to the end of the story! I loved the relationship between the Bargainer and Calli. Their bond is just so amazing and they just seem perfect for each other, even with their pasts. Also, the other relationship that started in book two and just gets even better in book three.. whooo!!!
I encourage those who don’t mind a little smut with their fae to pick this book up!
‘Dark Harmony’ is book three and the finale in Laura Thalassa’s The Bargainer series. This story continues on from ‘A Strange Hymn’, so highly recommend that the previous books are read prior. Forewarning: this book contains a lot of s*x scenes between H and h.
After the emotional ending of ‘A Strange Hymn’, with Callie almost dying, and Des not giving up. Things only pick up and not for the best, The Thief of Souls continues to plagues Callie’s dreams, Des’ kingdom is under it greatest threat and a ghost from the past is trying to take everything away. Callie and Des must piece together the clues they’ve been given to track down the Thief of Souls and the former King of Night, and put an end to their torments once and for all.
This book has everything you need and want in an enjoyable read; there is witty comebacks, mystery, heartwarming romance, emotional turmoil, steamy sex, awesome chemistry, and one epic love story. I have been enjoying this series with each book getting more addictive then the previous, but now I feel lost that it has ended. We have watched and witnessed this expl*sive relationship grow and blossom from the very beginning as acquaintances, to friends, to soulmates. Des and Callie’s relationship has been one emotional journey that i am so glad I got to witness.
So many unanswered questions will be answered in this book about who or what The Thief of Souls is, what he and Des’ father want, and so much more. So hold on to you hat as you are in for one bumpy ride.
We also get to see Callie really come into herself in this book, she really grows and accepts herself in this book, no longer allowing others to dictate and control her life, she takes control. She becomes someone’s nightmare.
Des is still his same old self, the comical bargainer, collecting secrets, punching Callie to be her full potential. But we also get to see he’s more Fae side in this one, he really gets pushed to his limits with people constantly trying to harms his mate. But we are also reminded why he is the Lord of Secrets and Master of Shadows, collect and listening.
Around the 70-80% you are going to want to throw your book, kindle or headphones away, but don’t, I promise it does get better you just need to stick through it. If I can you can too. Just what until you read the titles that Callie and Temper have in store.
Such a wonderful experience it has been to read this series, and to be able to witness this world, characters and relationship not just between Callie and Des but also with Temper and Malaki.
I loved the ending. It was the sweetest thing ever.
Callie truly surprised me on this book, she’s fierce and embraces her power with a vengeance. I loved her growth from broken girl to powerful woman.
Des will always be Des. He still keeps secrets even from Callie, but I have to admit that He does it all for a good reason.
I can’t believe I ended up loving even the side characters that I know close to nothing about. Temper and Malaki should have their own book.
The thief of souls was down right creepy and at times I wondered if he was going to outsmart and outmaneuver Des and Cassie. He seemed an unbeatable force and I was truly worried.
I really enjoyed the story and the pace of it. It was sweet and super sexy, thrilling and agonizing. I was glued to the pages more so than the previous books.
The only reason I didn’t give this book a 5 star rating is because I feel that some things were left unanswered or just glassed over but other than that it was pretty darn good.
Unfortunately this book took too long to get to the good part. Solve the mystery, already! Sheesh. So, I was annoyed while I read it. It’s still a great series, great characters, and I didn’t want it to end. I wanted more with the lovers. Truly did. I highly recommend this series.
Callie’s Siren shows more of an appearance here at the end as she no longer tries to hold back. So many more secrets start to show as death flirts with everyone.
This whole series gripped me from start to finish. I was so sad to see it end but delighted by the ending at the same time
There is no doubt that I love Callie and Des together. Their chemistry is off the charts and so was their romance. This story was steamy and funny and although there’s hidden threats and danger I expected it to be a little better. The threats with The Thief of Souls and Gallagher has been going on for a while and I expected a little more action from everyone. Des and Callie were doing things that weren’t important at a time when their kingdom was being threatened. I just wished they would have handled The Thief and everything else so that we could enjoy those sweet moments more. I also expected both Callie and Temper to destroy things and I got none of it. I know Temper gets her own book and she may destroy stuff in her story but since she played a major part in this story I expected a little more from her character. Just as I expected more from Malaki. The ending was sweet and although we get an epilogue that left me with a smile on my face, it just wasn’t enough. I needed just a little bit more. With that being said, I loved this series and I definitely look forward to reading more books from this author.
I haven’t devoured a series the way I devoured this series in a very long time and this conclusion delivered in every way and it easily became an all time favorite. I just love Callie and Des and their dynamic. Des is charming and wicked and Callie is a badass. I especially love the way Des just adores every single thing about Callie and how any time Callie get stronger, exhibits a new power, or gives into her darker side he is just absolutely delighted by it and never once balks at it but revels in it. I said in my review of Rhapsodic that I had never read a book that fit the ACOMAF shaped hole in my heart the way that book did, and I stand by that for the entire series. And it’s not just the fae aspects… there are plenty of fae books… it’s the tone and it just strikes that same chord. I love how this book is both heavy on the fantasy and the romance. I’m a fantasy junkie and I love my romance and I love how this series just effortlessly combined those two. This conclusion was just everything and I’m sad I have to say goodbye to this world.
