There are worse things than death. Things that lurk in the shadows and slip into your dreams. Things that have no business existing. Things that once slept … but have now awoken. For Callypso Lillis, the fae magic that now runs through her veins is equal parts curse and good fortune. For the very thing that bonds her to Desmond Flynn, the King of the Night, also makes her vulnerable to the Thief … vulnerable to the Thief of Souls, a man who wants to break the world … and Callie along with it.
But it’s not just the Thief whose shadow looms over the Otherworld. Des’s father is back from the dead, and he wants revenge on the son who sent him to the grave in the first place.
Des and Callie must figure out how to stop both men, and time is running out. Because there are forces at play working to tear the lovers apart once and for all … and unfortunately for them, death is no longer the worst thing to fear.

This started right where we left off previously and almost instantly we were back in the thick of things and I managed to read this in one sitting I was that engrossed.
Here I really adored Desmond’s sadistic glee and pride in Callie’s enhanced abilities and twisted nature which is especially amplified since she consumed the lilac wine.
It was like his own personal protege had blossomed overnight and he couldn’t be prouder if he tried.
We also got to see much more of Des the fairy trickster in this volume and his wicked sense of mischief was contagious.
I also loved that Callie finally embraces the whole of her nature here and she was also willing to make the choices that needed making she really stepped up and finally came into her own.
I felt like she became who she was always meant to be.
This also had plenty of humour and oodles of passion and managed to wring me out bringing me to actual tears with the events that occurred.
This was everything I had hoped it would be and was a fantastic finale to Desmond and Callies journey.

Damn you Laura Thalassa. That ending. Anyway, thus concludes another series by an amazing author. I think that this one was the best of the three. Callie fully realizes the extent of her powers and how to use them and we get to watch as they work as a team. Even through the worst of it, their love was there. And you have to love a badass woman and her badass best friend kicking butt all over the realm. There is a scene where Callie and Temper give themselves and a bad guy some nicknames and I almost spit my water out because I was so amused.
This book had it all. Kickass female MC, strong female friendships, sexy times, a lot of action and romance and some edge of your seat moments too. If you have Kindle Unlimited, Laura Thalassa is an author you definitely should be reading if you like Urban or Paranormal Fantasy.
Holy Shamoly!!! That was bloody HOT!!!
I really enjoyed The Bargainer series and I’m sad to see it come to an end. The characters were original, the storyline kept me entertained from beginning to end and the sexual shenanigans were HOT!!
This is the second audio I’ve listened to where a second narrator makes a one chapter appearance. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT ABOUT??? What’s the point? The fact that it’s Susannah Jones narrating for the majority of the story, why would you even bother? Ms Jones is one of my favourite narrators and I think she can convincingly perform both the female and male characters. Not that Jay Ben Markson did a bad job for the two seconds (or what felt like it) he performed, it just seemed a little pointless. I’m not sure I’m a fan of this new fandangled (to me) approach to narrating. If you’re going to have two narrators, bloody use two narrators.
I gave Dark Harmony four stars instead of five stars because I thought the epic battle between foes was a little off, to be honest. I mean we’ve finally put all the pieces together, worked out who The Thief is and it just fizzled out. My heart wasn’t pumping. I wasn’t thinking that…maybe good wouldn’t overcome evil. It just felt a little anti-climatic and missing the kaboom I was expecting. I enjoyed every step of the journey to the fight, just not the actual fight. I mean seriously, The Thief had been playing havoc for so long he deserved a million years of suffering and torture. It was so blah, I can’t even remember how it ended.
Loved Cally and Des together and thought their love and devotion to each other was amazing. Observing Cally come into her powers made her even more exceptional and I loved her games in manipulation. Des is a little bit bad but in an *OH SO GOOD WAY!!* I loved Des’ insatiable need for Calypso and his protective, adoring and devoted ways. The two of them are the best kind of para/fantasy couples where she plays just as an important role as him.
If you haven’t tried a Laura Thalassa story or series yet, I highly recommend checking The Bargainer out.
I’m ignited! Licking up the flames this brought about!
Flawless!
This will probably go down in history as one of my all time favorite series. It’s got all the elements I love:
– Steamy romance that starts off slightly slow
– Mystery
– Supernatural elements
– A strong touch of Horror
– Smartass capable heroine
– Sexy Hero with just the right touch of jackass
Thalassa is an expert character engineer. I’ve come to expect that I will love all her characters, even if the story isn’t my favorite. But with The Bargainer series, the story was expert as well.

Wonderful story!! It’s hot and action packed. It didn’t take this long to read! I love the ups and downs and candid funny comments. Great ending too!!
