I absolutely loved this book. It had me hooked from the very first chapter. And I loved that it was told through dual points-of-view between Solaris—a kick-butt, strong-willed human who has a knack for getting herself in predicaments, and Kaige—a vampire prince who prides himself on being disciplined and always doing what’s expected of him. And then they meet and their worlds get turned upside down.
I could not stop reading this book. Once I started, there was no stopping until I reached the end. The words and story flow so easily, the world around you disappears and you find yourself right there with them in Draconis, watching the whole thing play out. With a mystery discovered, a prophecy hanging over their heads, and an attraction both Solaris and Kaige are trying hard to deny, Dark Fates has everything to keep you reading well into the night. Who needs sleep anyway when you’ve got great book in your hands? And believe me, this book is great and the ending will leave you begging for more. Well done G.K. DeRosa and J.N. Colon. Now bring on the sequel, cause I’m dying to find out what happens next.
Two young souls, destined for lives they don’t want are brought together by the hands of fate. Slipping into a world, divided by legend and lies of what and who they are both Human and Vampire must rely on the other to get through their unpleasant meeting. Though taught as young children to stay away from each other Solaris and Kaige become bonded and he uses his vampire blood to save her life.
This is such a wonderful story of adventure, trickery and love… Great characters and story line. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I love this series never a dull moment in any of the books so far. Solaris and Kaige are macnificent as the lead characters. You have love, adventure, good and bad guys and very bad guys. I need the next book as soon as I can get it to continue the adventure of Solaris and Kaige.
This book is one of those books that I wish I could reread again and again to get all those first time chills and thrills as the characters embark on a dangerous mission and forbidden romance. And not only has the author written intriguing characters, but a suspenseful mystery fully of buried secrets that is sure to get everyone into deep trouble in book two. I highly recommend this book to you if you love young adult paranormal romance. I can’t wait to continue this series!
Dark Fates is the first book in The Vampire Prophecy.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Final Rating: 5 Stars
An exciting continuing story about a human female Solaris and a vampire Kaige. Two different nations that didn’t get along, at least that is what everyone thought. Death to whomever came on the other side. So when Solaris and Kaige found out about the real blood, their lives could end quickly if some one found out. With love between Solaris and Kaige and then bonded, they are so in trouble. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
It took me awhile to get into this story. The characters are strong but the chapters drag a little in the beginning. In contrast, the ending finishes too quickly and suddenly.
The heroine, Solaris, is likeable from the outset.
Kaige is not your usual vampire.
Once I got into the story, I read it straight through. I will be reading the next one to see how the story progresses.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Solaris decides she needs one more thrill before the end of summer and takes off in a plane. Kaige is training to take his place as King, even though it isn’t what he really wants. Getting ready for the trials he takes off into the woods one evening and finds the last thing he ever expects. Needing answers he saves the very person that would destroy everything. There is a reason the humans and nocturnes are so separated, a very old prophecy.
Solaris is awesome, so spunky and full of fire. Kaige is interesting but so very stuffy. I loved the tiny bits we got to see of Zabrina and am looking forward to reading more very soon! That ending left me wanting so much more!!
