If you love history, mystery and sexy times galore, check out this fantastic new book in Riley’s Restitution League Series! I absolutely love Riley’s books, and highly recommend them. Start with Rejecting the Rogue and Seducing the Scientist and then Daring the Detective! Fantastic reads!
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Once I started I could not put the book down from start to finish you just could not get enough with twists and turns hot and steamy like a rollercoaster ride of emotions that makes you want more with the chemistry and romance.

Zadie is an expert in Egyptology, and has a few more skills that she would rather Caleb wouldn’t know about. She went to the Restitution League to find her Aunt, missing and leaving Zadie an enigmatic clue. However, complications cause her to rely on this totally aggravating, yet attractive Detective. Daring the Detective is an absorbing story in the Restitution League series. I recommend this enjoyable novel.

This is the third book where we meet the Restitution League fighting injustice, members composed of former thieves, liars, and con artists devoting their skills to helping and making things right for those who need their specialized services.
Detective Caleb Burke is normally a by-the-book kind of guy who follows the rules, but Caleb wants to right wrongs that he can’t always do strictly within the law. Zadie Whitlock is a far more impulsive character who enjoys adventure and intrigue. Yet the two of them definitely feel the chemistry sizzle when they meet. Zadie was a bit uncomfortable at first since she expected to be dealing with former criminal types and not a handsome detective who may frown on her “extracurricular” activities. However, Zadie needs Caleb and the Restitution League to find her missing aunt who may be involved with trying to retrieve Viking treasure.
Things get complicated when the authorities try to arrest Zadie for her aunt’s disappearance. Can Caleb stop her getting arrested? Will he be able to find her missing – or murdered – aunt? Will Caleb and Zadie be drawn into a romantic involvement, despite their being such opposites?
This was another enjoyable book in this series that I highly recommend. Good story line, good pacing, and characters you can admire – grab your copy and join the adventure!
Just as exciting and action packed as the first two books were. I wasn’t expecting Burke’s story to be the next one covered, but it was great. A huge twist completely blindsided me. So excited to find out that this series isn’t going to be limited to a trilogy. Anxiously awaiting the fourth installment.

The great storyline and the well detailed characters grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept me totally glued to my kindle until the turn of the very last page! I was so engrossed in this story that I read it in one sitting!
Smart writing, clever dialog, great characters and sexy times – all parts of this story. I know there are some historical romances with the same theme but not a lot. I wish more stories in this sub-genre would be written to be consumed by us. The mystery is good and I did not figure it out. The characters all interlace beautifully for a great story of great friends. Caleb is someone I love reading about. A bit staid but very passionate. Zadie is a bit different. She is a wondering spirit that grabs onto the readers and takes them along for the ride.

WOW!! Did I ever love this book!!
What a sexy, Victorian mystery. Caleb and Zadie are both strong, confident people and they are both so sure that the other is not in any way, shape or form right for them, yet they can not deny the attraction between them. And the mystery had so many twists and turns it kept me guessing virtually to the end.
This is the first time I have read this author but it certainly will not be the last. Also, kudos to the editor and proofreaders. I did not notice any typos or grammatical issues to mention. An excellent book. I totally recommend it. In fact, I am going to go check out the first two books in this series.

Zadie, is uneasy when she goes to the Restitution League to ask them for help. She was expecting to find fellow thieves and other reformed criminals, not a police detective. Not quite sure whether to trust telling the full story with the detective, she ultimately decides that her aunt’s life is more important than the possibility of arrest. Her aunt has gone missing under suspicious circumstances, and she fears that her business of retrieving stolen objects has led to it.
Rating 4.5 stars. Caleb and Zadie’s story did not disappoint. The adventures continue with Zadie trying to locate her missing aunt, with the help of the Restitution League. I also love seeing what Meena, Spencer, Ada, and Edison are up to. I have really enjoyed this series, especially the strong, humorous, and adventurous heroines and the heroes who don’t want to change them. I’m looking forward to meeting Briar’s match in the next book.

The latest addition to the Restitution League series and if have not read the first two in this delightful series, you are missing some great stories! This is a very unique group of people, all of them former thieves who have been trained to steal for others to right some wrongs. What this group was doing though, was making restitution for the wrongs they had done in their past. Wonderful concept? Yes and Riley Cole has created an amazing storyline that I love!
When Zadie Whitlock went to the league to get their help to find her missing aunt Margaret, she was desperate. But when she was introduced to Detective Caleb Burke, she could barely breath. Who would have thought he would be a part of the operation? Or help them outside his regular job? But Caleb wants to help right those wrongs that he cannot always do within the law.
The adventure begins as Caleb tries to help her but it seems one thing or another happens as she tries to keep her business dealings secret. After all she steps outside the law ocassionally herself!
A missing aunt, some Viking treasures and an undeniable attraction that cannot be denied brings this humorous story full circle! Loved it!!!
Hope there are many more additions to this series and I highly recommend you read them all!!

The third book in the Restitution League Series and they just get better with each new book. A well written story I did not want to put down. Zadie Whitlock and Detective Caleb Burke’s story has a very good story-line and the pages flow smoothly from one to the other. I hope there is going to be more books coming in this series. What a wonderful read, fill of intrigue, adventure, mystery, and romance. What’s better is it’s all set on Victorian England with a spunky and feisty herione you can’t help but love and the lovable man who can’t help but fall in trouble with her (and love). It’s a great addition to the Restitution League series.

Zadie, the heroine, is immediately uneasy when she comes to the Restitution League to ask them to take her case. She was expecting to find fellow thieves and other reformed criminals, not a police detective. Not quite sure whether to trust sharing the full story with the Sweets and the detective, she ultimately decides that her aunt’s life is more important than the possibility of arrest. Her aunt has gone missing under suspicious circumstances, and she fears that her business of retrieving stolen objects has led one of her victims to strike. Detective Caleb, the hero, believes he knows her type and suspects she is keeping details from them. The League does take up her case, but will everything change when other law enforcement believe that Zadie is not only involved in her aunt’s disappearance but also in her murder? Will romantic sparks fly between this honorable detective and a tarnished lady?
For those who read the two previous books in the Restitution League series, it will come as a surprise that this book is not about one of the Sweets. After all, Briar still hasn’t met found her mate. The writing in this book is not quite as snarky and humorous as the first two books, but this read about a very mismatched pair who have a hard time trusting each other in the face of danger is a compelling one. Detective Caleb puts his career in jeopardy, and Zadie’s very life may hang in the balance.
This is the 3rd book on the series of the Restitution League, in which find Caleb completely bemused and confused by the new client, Zadie Wilcox asking for help finding her Aunt Margret. Her aunt has gone missing the front door of her home broken in and Zadie has seen a man slinking about watching the house.
Zadie has noticed Caleb and was a little nervous because he was an officer and Zadie sometimes crossed the line for her business, She found him too good looking for comfort but he offers to return to her aunt’s house to check things out. While looking around some local police stop by to arrest Zadie for kidnapping and probable murder of her aunt, Caleb bluffs her out of trouble handcuffing claiming she is his prisoner when he lets her go he is put on leave for one month. The league surmises Margret was taken or in hiding because of the Viking treasure she has been searching for. Caleb tries to keep Zadie from helping and going out in public because she is wanted by Scotland Yard but she tricks him every time, the attraction between them becomes too powerful to ignore but she has no intention for a commitment and he likes a quieter woman but can’t deny the pull he feels for her. In the course of trying to solve the case, things get out of control and someone will get hurt but hopefully, her aunt will be ok.

What a delightful book this was to read! It involves intrigue, suspense, adventure, romance and the two main characters, Caleb and Zadie, are awesome!!
Detective Caleb Burke usually goes “by the rule” and he likes his life to be in order. Zadie Whitlock does nothing “by the rule” and her life is filled with adventure. When they meet, you would think that they would have nothing in common whatsoever but they didn’t expect the sizzling heat of passion and attraction they instantly feel towards each other.
Zadie needs his help, as well as that of the Restitution League, to find her aunt Margaret who has gone missing. What follows is quite the adventure and I could barely stand to put the book down, I wanted to know all the mysteries that were being uncovered!! Very well written and keeps your attention from start to end. I loved the humour throughout the book as well!!

A great mixture of humor and adventure!
What an intriguing mystery Ms. Cole has written! Caleb and Zadie were outstanding and at times so hilarious that it will keep you reading and put a smile on your face. This is the third book of Ms. Cole I have read and they keep getting better. I know that this is one I will re-read again and again. Great job Ms. Cole! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
