A romance that will keep you guessing! Dare To Tempt will captivate you from the start. As usual, having the extended Dare family you’ve come to love throughout both series, making several appearances throughout the story, is worth the read just for that alone. While it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading them in order so you can appreciate the characters even more. I’ve loved this series so much and they just get better with each book!
Damon Prescott has been accused of taking performance enhancing drugs. He’s never done that and out with an injury he has to find out how he tested positive. His brother Austin who is also his agent and his sister Bri his publicist have a plan. They aren’t going to use their usual PI they’re going with someone far more qualified for this task.
Evie just opened her own agency, a licensed PI, she is the perfect person to figure out who has it in for Damon. The thing is she’s most comfortable in jeans, boots and her leather jacket than in the attire attributed to most of the teams girlfriends. At least this is the excuse Damon gives for not believing she can pull off being his girlfriend.
The real reason is Damon is worried, he’s been attracted to Evie since he first met her. He can’t seem to get her out of his head and that frightens him. He’s not the settling down type, at least that’s what he tells himself.
Evie loves a challenge and meeting Austin, his girlfriend Quinn and Damon at Allstars for a drink will be interesting to say the least. Damon can’t hang with his teammates, but if he happens to run into them at a bar, those things happen.
To follow the logical premise of who has the most to gain puts Damon’s back-up quarterback at the forefront. However after meeting him Evie doesn’t get the sense that he would do anything to damage Damon’s reputation.
While his team is stunned that Damon has a girlfriend, the sparks flying between these two can’t be denied. As the puzzle pieces start coming together, so do Evie and Damon.
A delightful read with some intrigue and just the right amount of sizzle.
With every book I read from Carly, my love for her stories, characters and world built grows. One thing that I like the most is how she doesn’t create unnecessary drama with the main couple and I’m not saying that they don’t go through some bumps on the road, because they all do. And that’s why I found the relationships in her books so relatable.
In this book, Damon goes through his biggest test in his football career. Someone set him up and his drugs tests comeback positive. Now he needs some help him to find out who is the culprit and who wants him gone. He knows his family has his back, but he never thought that Evie would be the one to change his whole world.
Evie is best friend’s with Damon’s brother girlfriend, she is a PI, independent, beautiful and mostly important she is a bada$$! After some devastating break up with her ex, that left a lot of scars inside and out, she doesn’t want a relationship and just wants her business to grow. And finding a solution to Damon’s problem will put her on the map!
Evie and Damon chemistry is off charts. Both of them start their fake relationship to help each other professionally, but with their first kiss, things change fast. Evie try to deny until the end, but with Damon showing his true colors helping her heal her emotional wounds and protecting her against her stalker ex, there is no way she can’t fall in love with him.
And Damon? I swoon over him every single chapter… actually these Prescott’s brothers fight for the ladies they want with all their forces. And for Damon there would be no one else but Evie. Gah… I love him. The way he respected, love and care for Evie was beautiful. He even made a good impression with her family.
Talking about family, I could get behind with a new series staring Evie’s brothers. It would be amazing and oh so hot! Please, Carly, think about that.
I loved the ending so very much, Evie and Damon are so different but yet complement each other perfectly. All the praise for the epilogue! And the kick for Jaxon’s story was amazing, can’t wait for another Prescott brother!
Damon is a football player that gets hurt, and tests positive for performance- enhancing drugs. He did not knowingly take them, nor does anyone close to him think that he did. Evie is friends with Quinn from the previous book Dare to Resist. Evie is a P.I. who is going to help Damon find out who gave him the PED’S. She asks some questions to his teammates, coaches, doctors, etc to find anything out that can help Damon. They pretend they are dating so she can stay close to him. She also deals with a dangerous stalker ex.
They find out who set up Damon and why they did it. The find and arrest Evie’s ex. Damon plays a game and asks an important question.
Up next is Jaxon in Dare to Play.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I am loving this series so much! Damon and Evie are amazing and once I started reading I couldn’t put this down. From start to finish I was drawn into the story and dying to know how things were going to work out. I love how the story lets me see what is going on with the other characters from book 1 but yet, it could be read as a standalone if needed. However, I highly recommend reading them in order so that you really get the most out of what is going on with everyone.
There is drama, suspense and lots of hot steamy moments! A must read book for sure!

The chemistry is insane!
Damon’s sister has the perfect solution to his current problem: have her friend, private investigator, pose as his girlfriend so she can blend into his football world in order to find out who set him up. Damon knows he hasn’t been taking illegal drugs, now he’s been suspended and fined, all while suffering from a severe concussion sustained during his last game. And now his sister has the brilliant idea for her best friend and soon to be sister-in-law, tomboyish to the extreme, pose as his girlfriend to investigate?! Not, nope, no. Until she shows up looking like his dream come true in heels and a slinky dress. Boy did he have her pegged wrong. Now he just has to keep his hands to himself and remain professional…
Evie and Damon will soon come to see that neither is quite what each had thought. Evie may dress in non-designer wear, without a stitch of makeup on her face most of the time, but she’s intelligent and quick thinking and genuine. How could Damon have thought she wasn’t his type, wouldn’t fit into his world?! Damon too is not the thickheaded jock she had thought. He is fiercely protective and loving, and takes his sport and his teammates seriously, definitely not the dumb jock she had assumed. Will their newfound views of each other combined with their attraction make a fake relationship into a real one?
This is a sizzling installment in the already awesome Dare world. I love how neither of them is quite as expected, yet is perfect for the other. I love the entire Dare family, and Damon and Evie’s story is yet another reason why.
When Carly Phillips started her Dare Nation series, she came up with a winner! Her latest book, Dare to Tempt, fits perfectly into the series and is Damon’s story. As quarterback of the Miami Thunder, he has tested positive for performance enhancement drugs (PEDs) twice and has been sidelined for the first four games of the new season. What he and his brother agent and sister publicist and all his friends and relatives know is that Damon is NOT a drug user. So it’s up to Evie, a private investigator, to prove him innocent of these charges . . . and what better way to stay close to Damon and fit into his crowd than to pose as his new girlfriend!
What Evie and Damon least expect is the instant attraction that ensues . . . and what kind of entanglements crop up that seem to turn the tables to make Damon the PI, and Evie the victim? Though more a novella than a novel, you’re sure to enjoy this latest installment of the Dare Nation series.
Damon and Evie’s love story in Dare to Tempt, book two in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips is another winner. Ms. Phillips once again gives us an alpha hero who is being set up by someone, sideling him from the sport he loves. We are then given a strong, diligent, and decisive heroine who is determined to protect herself after being badly hurt by an ex. This breathtakingly beautiful love story contains so many feelings and responsibilities, family, attraction, off the charts sizzling chemistry, inner turmoil, and lots of steamy scenes.
All-star quarterback Damon Prescott needs help to prove his innocence after a random test showed he had been taking performance enhancing drugs and is now on a suspension from the sport and team he loves. His family supports his hiring Evie Wolfe, a no-nonsense, tough private investigator. Evie agrees to pretend to be Damon’s girlfriend and although she knows she is often dismissed by men, she can dress herself up to look not only like Damon’s girlfriend, but play the part quite well; never expecting the sizzling, off the charts electricity and chemistry between them. Having a reputation as a playboy, Damon never expected to find that Evie is everything he needed. After Evie wraps up the case, Damon is hoping to convince her that she’s the only woman for him and to stay with him.
Ms. Phillips wrote a wonderful, emotional and sizzling story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and charming secondary characters giving Damon and Evie a chance for happiness, love and a future together. I highly recommend Dare to Tempt to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
5 Proving His Innocence Stars!!!
Yet another winner from Carly Phillips!! I LOVE Damon so freaking much!!! I adore how much he loves his family, he’s an alpha at all the right moments and can admit when he’s wrong and this comes into play when he sees a new side of Evie Wolfe his sister’s BFF when she’s hired to help him prove he wasn’t taking steroids!
His reaction to Evie the very first time he saw her play the role they’ve setup for her had me chuckling as well and fanning myself because man oh man this woman is ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS!! She’s beautiful inside and out, smart, doesn’t need a man to complete her and she’s really good at her job…even though she thinks she won’t fall for Damon…. There’s a wrinkle in that plan because they just can’t deny their chemistry!
Evie goes about her investigation with cunning smarts and skill not leaving any rock unearthed to find the guilty party. Seeing how Damon’s respect for her evolved through the book just made me lover him more. He’s not afraid to admit he’s wrong and when they cross that proverbial line….bring out the fire extinguishers because holy moly hotness!!!
Seeing how her investigation followed the clues was fascinating especially when we get the “who done it” moment because WOWZA wasn’t expecting that!!
Ms. Phillips has given us a story that’s engaging, funny, sexy, swoony and everything I love about her writing! I highly recommend this book and this series as well as all of her other books because you’ll never be disappointed when you read her books!
Dare to Tempt by Carly Phillips was everything I needed it to be! I loved this second book in the Dare Nation world, and Carly had me falling head over heels for Damon and Evie!
Damon isn’t having the best time, but even with everything going on, can’t help but be drawn to Evie and her no nonsense attitude. Evie has been there, done that, and just wants to focus on her work, not believing that someone like Damon could actually be interested in her.
And I just got to sit back and watch the fireworks! Now, I definitely was seated at the edge of my seat, curious, intrigued, and hungry for more as their emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey took me for quite a spin!
I loved getting to see a new side to Damon and Evie, finding out more about their backstories, what makes them tick, and why they can’t help but be drawn to each other, and whether they can trust what they’re feeling or not. And it is entirely worth it, I swear!
I really felt for Evie, and the situations life had thrown at her, and how she continued to be strong, be true to herself, and be an amazing woman that I would absolutely love to know in person.
So the question remains, can two individuals that are like oil and water come together? Read Date to Tempt to find out; I promise you won’t regret it! I’m already planning a reread!
Book 2 of The Dare Nation
Star quarterback and team captain Damon Prescotts world collapses around him when he test positive for performance enhanced drugs.
Knowing he is completely innocent, he, along with his family and management team, hire Private Investigator Evie Wolfe to work his case.
Evie comes with problems of her own but she is determined to get to the bottom of who has framed Damon. What she does not expect if to fall for the footballers charm.
Having read and loved the first book in this new series I knew this was going to be good but for me it’s even better than Dare to Resist.
Cant wait for the rest of the Prescott family to get their stories.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I can’t imagine how frustrated Damon is to be tested for enhancing drugs and found in his system. He knows he did not take any type of drug. Now he is known for taking drugs and suspended for four games. Plus he is still getting over a terrible concussion. His sister brings her friend Evie who is a PI over and wants him to hire her. His sister Bri thinks if they act like a couple, Evie will be able to get closer to the people around Damon. Their first meeting doesn’t go so well, but the second one is off the charts! I felt bad because Evie was having some terrible trouble with an ex. I sure couldn’t stand him! I loved watching Damon change his mind about relationships as he got to know Evie. Evie’s brothers were great. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review
In the 2nd book of the Dare Nation series, Miami Thunder hotshot Quarterback Damon Prescott tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and is banned from his team and the sport he loves. His Sport Agent Brother Austin hires Private Investigator Evie Wolfe to try to find out who’s framing Damon. Damon and Evie have mixed as well as oil and water since they were introduced by Austin’s girlfriend, Quinn. Evie’s not buying what Damon’s selling. Damon is too gorgeous for his own good (which is tries to use to his advantage) and Evie plays down her assets so that she can be taken seriously at her job.
As they work together to prove Damon innocent, they begin to see the other for whom they actually are and the attraction is real. However, neither one of them are relationship-type of people. But then someone from Evie’s past starts making trouble for her, and Damon doesn’t think twice by offering her a place to stay and his protection, not that she really needs it. Now they can’t deny what’s between them, even if it’s just for as long as they’re under the same roof.
Is that going to be enough time for the two of them? Or will one of them come to their senses before it’s too late and they lose the other for good? I can’t say this enough, but I love the Dares and am so happy that we have a whole new tree branch of the family to read about!
Damon Prescott is the starting quarterback for the Miami Thunder, his cousin Ian Dare’s football team. Life is going great until he all of a sudden tests positive for PEDs weeks before the season is about to start. Damon’s never used drugs and he has no idea how they were found in his system. Anxious to prove his innocence, he agrees with his agent, Austin who also happens to be his brother, and Bri, his PR sister that he should hire a PI to investigate…..and who better to hire than Evie Wolfe, Bri’s best friend. Evie can pretend that she is Damon’s new girlfriend and get closer to people in order to investigate. Of course we all know how those “pretend” relationships go…..barreling headfirst into a real relationship!
As Evie works to prove Damon’s innocence, Damon’s out to prove that he’s a changed man and wants something real with Evie. When Evie’s ex come crashing back into her life, it gives Damon’s the perfect excuse to keep Evie closer. Now all they need is for the commitment-phobe PI to realize that the playboy quarterback has changed his usual game plan!
I really enjoyed this story! I loved Evie! A great heroine with such a shaky past that you can’t help but feel for her. I loved how she was able to tame the playboy Damon into the type of man that wants forever. I really enjoyed Damon too. He is such a cocky, but nice guy. I just adored the way his family interacts and I can’t wait for Jax’s story!
Loved this book. It has everything a romance novel needs. You get the fun of falling in love, the snarky heroine that draws the eternal bachelor in, the twist of suspense that keeps you reading to find out what happens, and of course the happy ever after.
This is a continuation of the Dare Nation series, but you do not have to read book 1 to understand what is going on, but really you know you want to read book 1 too!
Gah!! Damon and Evie are so delicious!! Damon is the serial dater meaning he doesn’t date. Evie is the smart mouth girl who doesn’t care who he is or what he’s famous for. He’s in the kind of trouble that he didn’t cause or see coming. She has the ability to figure out all his problems and clear his name. She is in her own trouble and his protective he-man comes out big time. I love that they are so snarky with each other at the beginning but things change as they always do. This family of Dares and their extended family are some of my favorites.
Dare To Tempt (Dare Nation #2)by Carly Phillips.. This is a great series a little of everything ..a fake romance.. positive drug tests.. attraction.. mystery..danger steamy good times all leading to a very FEA.
The second book in the Dare Nation series, this one is another hit for Carly. It is one you’ll not want to stop reading.
Damon Prescott is the starting quarterback for the Miami Thunder. After being told he tested positive for PED’s, his family and Evie Wolfe show up to prove his innocence. The first meeting of Damon and Evie didn’t exactly go well and her defenses are up but, she can be a professional. Damon thought she was pretty hot the first time he met her but can he keep this strictly professional? These two clash at times but you can see the growing relationship. Will Evie drop her defenses and let things happen? Can they prove Damon’s innocence? Of course, you still get to see some of the other Dare’s in this book, which is also a great part of this story.
This is one hot read that you really don’t want to miss. Cannot wait for the next in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I had been anxiously awaiting Damon’s story since reading the first book in this series and this didn’t disappoint. His chemistry with Evie is explosive but they both have hangups to get over, while she is trying to help him. It has some suspense and the steam and tension between them is undeniable. I read this in one sitting.
