Carly Phillips starts off her new Dares series, Dare Nation, with the oldest Prescott sibling, Austin. His playing days behind him, Austin is now an agent for sports starts, including his siblings. His bachelor days come to an abrupt end when he comes home one night to find a baby left on his doorstep with a note saying she’s his. Austin panics and calls his assistant Quinn for help. Quinn grew up raising her siblings and cousins, with her family thinking she should be a nanny instead of going to school. She’s done with kids- but a crush on Austin guarantees she’s going to help him get things straightened out. Both Austin and Quinn need to figure out how to handle the chemistry between them, as well as the fact that their life plans may have just been derailed by a baby.
Quinn and Austin had pretty decent chemistry between them from the beginning, and made a great team working together. When they decide to give in and see where their mutual attraction takes them, their partnership works even better. This was a classic case of two people who had their lives planned out and were sure of what they wanted- until things changed. Do you hang on to old plans or take what life throws you and make new ones that feel right? The Prescotts as a family look as tight knit as their Dare cousins, which made for great family scenes and the promise of good future characters. I do wish that Quinn’s family background had been a little more developed. It’s one thing to say over and over that she got stuck raising siblings and cousins and so missed out on life as a teenager- but why? Why doesn’t the family ever ask what she wants out of life? It felt like there could have been more to it that would have given that part of her story more complexity. Or maybe not and I’m overthinking it. There was more repetition than usual here, which was a little annoying, but overall not a bad introduction to the newest Date Nation.

A really fun quick read that takes us back into the world of the Dare Family with Austin Prescott. Austin hires Quinn as his assistant and immediately knew he wanted her, now a year later a baby is dropped off in his doorstep and he has no one else to turn to but the reluctant Quinn. Through taking care of the little girl the ever present sparks ignite even more and the two finally give in, but things stand in the way of them getting that HEA until disaster strikes and forces Quinn to take a good hard look at what she thought she wanted and what she wants now.
Austin and Quinn had a whole of chemistry and their story was a lot of fun with just a little drama mixed in. Excited for what happens next with Damon!

This was a wonderful read and a great way to kick-off this new series. Austin and Quinn are very likable characters and I enjoyed their chemistry and connection. The storyline offers an excellent balance of fun and emotional and you very quickly invested in these characters and rooting for this couple. Lots of drama, clever banter, steam and feelings keep you focused and entertained. A truly delightful read! I am freely choosing to post an elective review.
Dare to Resist by Carly Phillips is a spinoff of sorts of her various Dare series, but can be read as a standalone, as it is about a new set of siblings. We meet Austin Prescott and his assistant, Quinnlyn Stone, Quinn, and is an office romance with a surprise baby romance. Austin is a former NFL player turned sports agent. He is charming, handsome and loves his job and does not do relationships. Quinn is a no nonsense woman who knows what she wants, right? She is smart, determined and beautiful.
Though Austin and Quinn try to deny their connection and chemistry, it is not always easy. When a baby is left on Austin’s doorstep with a note saying it’s his, what’s a guy to do? Call his steady and sexy assistant of course. Now they are spending all this time together and sparks are flying everywhere. Can they see what they can be together before it’s too late?
Dare to Resist by Carly Phillips is a sweet and charming office romance with a baby surprise! It was a fun read with a bit of angst and a whole lot of steaminess. I enjoyed the story and the characters so much and I am so excited to read the next book in the series

Happy reading!
This was such a sweet and sexy book! I loved the story and the characters, and I can’t wait for more!
Austin Prescott is a former pro football player turned sports agent. He’s also part of a big family, made even BIGGER, when he found out that his “Uncle” Paul Dare, his mom’s best friend, was actually his, and his siblings’ biological father, via sperm donation. Paul needed a kidney, and Austin was a match, so he donated, and they’ve both been recovering. Austin used to be quite the playboy, but he’s calmed down of late, especially since he met his now assistant, Quinn. But, when he comes home one night to a baby girl on his front porch, with a note saying she’s his, he’s at a loss on what to do. Luckily, Quinn is there to help him.
Quinnlyn Stone and her family have always been into sports, and she just knows working as a sports agent’s executive assistant is the perfect job for her. But, she doesn’t expect to be so attracted to her boss, and how much that will complicate her life. They absolutely need to keep it professional, so she keeps her attraction under wraps. She comes from a big family, and she was the oldest, so she was always stuck babysitting and caring for her younger siblings and cousins, regardless of what her plans were, or what she’d rather be doing. No one ever asked her opinion, they just volunteered her time and services. So, at 18, when she moved out, she decided she wasn’t interested in having kids of her own, after basically raising everyone else’s. She even ended her prior engagement over the fact that he wanted kids, and she didn’t. But luckily, when her boss needs help desperately, all her baby knowledge comes through in the clutch.
Austin and Quinn had mega chemistry from the beginning and I liked watching them fight against it, and then finally giving into it, all while both falling in love with baby Jenny too. They really care for each other, while Quinn is helping Austin learn to care for the baby, and it was the sweetest thing. I just loved how they depended on each other, and their families for help. Austin’s siblings were fun, and I’m excited to learn more about them in future books!
I felt a connection to the heroine, because I’ve always had a thing about older siblings in big families, and felt bad for them. Many of them basically get thrust into parenthood just like Quinn, through no choice or decision of their own, and they’re stuck until they’re old enough to move out. I’ve always found it terribly unfair and difficult. I empathized with her so much, and totally understood why she made the decisions she did at 18.
There was a bit of a mystery going on, with the question whether the baby actually belonged to Austin, and who (and where) her mother was. I enjoyed the way all that played out, and I loved how Austin made a decision, and knew what he was going to do regardless. I really loved these characters and their beautiful connection.
I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy this author’s style! I’m excited to get more stories from this big extension of the Dare family.
A new witty, steamy romance from Carly Phillips!
Austin and Quinn’s love story in Dare to Resist, book one in the Dare Nation series by Carly Phillips is another winner. Ms. Phillips once again gives us an alpha male hero suddenly changing perspective about his life and future when a baby is left on his doorstep; with a sticky note telling him she’s his baby. We are also given a strong, diligent, and decisive heroine who is determined not to have children after raising all of the children in her extended family; siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. This breathtakingly beautiful love story contains so many feelings and responsibilities, family ties, heartbreak, attraction, off the charts sizzling chemistry, inner turmoil, and lots of steamy scenes.
Ex-football player and now sports agent, Austin Prescott could not survive without his amazing executive assistant Quinnlyn Stone. So when he finds a baby on his doorstep, with a note saying “Jenny is his” and no idea what to do with a baby; he knows who to call. Quinn agrees to help Austin out until he can straighten things out. She realizes that he is out of element and has no idea how to handle a baby. Quinn is the baby whisperer which is most likely why she basically raised every baby in her extended family. Quinn teaches Austin how to handle Jenny, how to change her diaper, make a bottle; basically how to be a father. Austin and Quinn have been attracted to each other since he hired her, but neither has acted on it. When Austin begs Quinn to move in you just know there will be more fireworks than explaining the presence of a baby. There is major chemistry and undeniable attraction between them, which they both respond and react to. The more time Quinn spends with Austin and Jenny she realizes that having children of her own was not necessarily a deal breaker for her.
Ms. Phillips wrote a wonderful, emotional and sexy story that will pull at your heartstrings and is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Austin and Quinn a chance for happiness, love and the possibility for future together. I highly recommend Dare to Resist to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

Quinn and Austin were so amazing together that I want more of them!!! When she walked in to interviewed as his assistant Austin was stunned at the beauty in front of him. She was drop dead gorgeous and intelligent. He knew immediately that he couldn’t cross the line with her because after hiring her he realized she was very efficient and couldn’t function without her. A year passed and suddenly Austin had a surprise at his door one night and the first person he called for help was Quinn. This situation brought them closer and both could no longer hide the feelings and attraction they’ve had for each other for over a year. Their chemistry was off the charts and they made a great team; even his family said it before Quinn and Austin gave in to their attraction. There was a slight pause because of things in Quinn’s childhood but it was all worked out. I want more because I think there’s more to offer of these two.
Dare To Resist (Dare Nation, #1)by Carly Phillips This is the first book in a new DARE series. Loved the story and both Austin and Quinn. (and baby Jenny) . I enjoyed all the feels in this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series. Carly never disappoints !!!!
What a great start to a new series….. Dare Nation! Office Romance Sports Romance Single Dad Secret Baby More Dare Family So how could you go wrong…. you absolutely can’t!!
I couldn’t wait for Dare to Resist, when Carly said she was bringing this family back I knew this would be fantastic! Join the Dare world with the new series Dare Nation introducing the Prescott family. (You’ll have to read to find out how they tie into the Dare family) Our first peek into this new series brings us Austin Prescott. Former football star, and playboy, he’s used to women falling at his feet. He is also the head of the new sports agency, Dare Nation, he’s opened with his uncle, Paul Dare. He’s in desperate need for a new assistant to keep his office in order as he takes some time off (something else you’ll have to read why). Interview after interview he can’t find someone who suits him until she walks in.
She of course is a vision, Quinnlynn Stone. From the moment she walks into his office, Austin is captivated. Quinn is a brilliant woman, she has her act together, graduate of University of Miami undergrad and business school with a perfect resume for what Austin is looking for. She has an excellent sports knowledge and knows her way around the industry having worked her way up with other sports teams. Austin is very impressed with her class but he’s also extremely attracted which isn’t so good. Quinn has a plan, a plan to never marry or have kids, having raised her own siblings as well as cousins as she was growing up, she decided she was done with that, no family in her future.
Austin isn’t looking to settle down either, but can’t help the attraction that continues to grow even though he’s fought it for a while but they share one steamy, beyond amazing kiss, a kiss neither one can forget about and even months later it’s still haunting them both. Until one night, Austin decides he’s going to just get Quinn out of his mind with another woman. However, upon arriving to his home for an evening of pleasure, he finds a very unexpected surprise, a basket with a baby girl, with a note stating Jenny is his. Well that changes the plans for the evening in a way he never saw coming. After his date bails, he calls the one person who he has come to depend on and also the one person who has determined in her heart there is no room for children in her life. He begs her to help with Jenny, after all what does a bachelor ex pro football player know about taking care of a baby?! Quinn agrees to help him until he can sort out the mess and find out if this is really his baby.
This ends up in a way Quinn never expected, in a place she never thought she would be, however her heart is now engaged with not only the baby but the man too. She can no longer resist or fight her feelings and Austin is right there with her.
It’s a story you will fall in love with, steamy, romantic, heartwarming and mostly it’s about finding that one person who is meant to be your soul mate. Austin is the new Dare in town and he will capture your heart in a way like no other Dare before him.
I loooove single dad books and Dare To Resist is right up there with the best!
This book was great, right from the beginning! Quinn and Austin had a connection from the moment she interviewed for the position of executive assistant, especially when she calls him and all athletes out as immature and arrogant. He was lost at that point but as an employee she was off limits until a year later when a baby is left on his door step and he is in a panic and who does he call? Quinn, of course, and discovers she is a baby whisperer. However, the last thing she wants is to be involved with a man with a baby or to ever have a baby after raising her siblings and cousins. That is, until she falls in love with this baby and the baby daddy. Oh, the feels in this story is so abundant! The Dare family makes several cameos and it is good to be back in Dare Nation! Definitely a recommendation from me!
If you like forced togetherness (I do, I do!!!!) you’ll love this! A satisfying office romance

***4 Stars***
This was a fun, quick read and not only a great start to a new series, but also in the ever expanding Dare family saga. I have to come clean and admit that much of the fun for me was due to watching Austin go through every emotion and reaction possible to having a surprise baby dropped off on his doorstep, but I did love how the whole baby issue pushed Austin and Quinn to confront their attraction to each other.
Austin and Quinn were a lot of fun. Austin is a good man with a generous heart who finds himself in a bit of a crossroads when it comes to how he is living his life. Quinn is sweet, sassy and driven. She has goals she wants to achieve and isn’t afraid to put the work into get them accomplished.
Their journey to their HEA was a fun one. While the whole baby issue did push them closer together, the attraction they felt ~ but didn’t really act on ~ was there from the first moment they met. They respected and admired each other and found that they truly liked who the other person was outside of the office. The baby helped both see the others softer and more vulnerable side and bumped up the chemistry that was already simmering between them. The roadblock in their journey wasn’t a surprise, but I actually liked how it happened because it showed just how well they really knew each other.
This was a fun read, there is a bit of drama and suspense thrown in for good measure, but overall an enjoyable read. Much of the fun was due to Austin’s reactions to everything ‘baby’. Some surprised me, but many were ones I would have expected of any man finding an infant on his doorstep. As for the supporting cast of characters, the Dare’s, in general, are always a lot of fun, so I’m totally looking forward to getting to know this section of the family better!

Dare to Resist is the start of a new Dare Nation Series by Carly Phillips. I think this series is off to a great start. I found this book very enjoyable and entertaining.
If you are a fan of an office romance and a single dad story, then this is one you should read. Also who wouldn’t want to read about more Dares?!?!
Dare to Resist is the first book in this series and is a standalone novel. Even though this is built around the Dare family, you don’t have to read any previous books to enjoy this one. This series will have interconnected characters as well as you will see past characters, but you aren’t missing anything if these books are read out of order. This is told in Dual POV from the third person. I thought the flow and pace was good, but one thing I felt was different from other Carly Phillips books, was that we didn’t get right into the story, like she does in her other books. She added some filler in the beginning that I wasn’t expecting….it just slowed things down a little bit.
In this book we follow Austin and Quinn. I loved Austin, but I will be honest and say I didn’t really connect with Quinn. There was just something about her that I just didn’t like. Austin made this book for me!!
Austin is an ex NFL player who has now made it big as a sports agent and is looking to hire a new assistant. In comes Quinn. The attraction is immediate but both know nothing can happen because they work together…..or can it?? When Austin’s life is upended by a baby being dropped off on his doorstep, he turns to Quinn for help. Will they be able to hold back their attraction and feelings or will they cave and cross that line?? Read this book to find out.
I loved seeing some of the past Dares in this story. I found the connection between this family and the Dares an interesting one. I look forward to reading more books in this series .
Austin Prescott is a sports agent that is desperate to find an assistant just before he goes out on medical leave for 5-6 weeks. Then in walks Quinnlyn Stone. Not only is she perfect for the job, but sparks are flying. Austin knows those sparks can’t lead anywhere but he hires her anyway. A year down the road, Austin gets the surprise of a lifetime and needs Quinn’s help.
Dare to Resist is a Dare Nation novel and is well written and sexy. Carly has definite heat factor flowing between these two. All around good read!
Who doesn’t love the Dares and the next instalment. Austin is reeling after finding out who his father is and that he also needs a kidney transplant and Austin is a match. Quinn is there to get the job on offer and is surprised she gets it. A huge surprise and a few truths from their pasts might be the tipping point to a no go relationship. I loved Quinn’s and Austin’s story. They were so suited for each other that it was inevitable that they would finally be together. It’s always good to see another instalment of the Dares series.
