Dare To Resist is a spinoff series of Carly Phillips’ original Dare series. Although it is a spinoff, this side of the family, these a full standalone book. This is the 1st book in the new series.
Austin is a former football pro turned sports agent. Quinn is his sexy but super efficient assistant. Although there is some serious chemistry, Austin and Quinn have kept their relationship strictly professional. When Austin comes home to find a baby on his doorstep he calls Quinn for help. Quinn agrees to help Austin with baby Jenny while making it clear it is only temporary as she has decided she doesn’t want children. Soon they begin to feel too much like a family and their chemistry is too much to resist.
This book is written from a third-person dual POV so the only minor drawback is that I found myself having to keep track of whose side I was reading. (Maybe because I binge read and if I slowed down it would had been less confusing but it was that good!!) Austin and Quinn manage to have plenty of sizzle while allowing their sweet side to shine through.
Austin Prescott, the ex football player and sports agent, gains a new title: baby daddy. He comes home to find a baby girl left on his doorstep with a note that says “she’s yours”.
So when his date takes off and tells him he is on his own he does the only thing he knows to do. He calls his very competent and gorgeous assistant.
Quinnlyn Stone does not hesitate to run to Austin’s aid when she gets the call. So when he panics and says he needs her to stay and help she agrees to move in.
Even though there is an undeniable chemistry between the assistant and her boss what could possibly go wrong?

I loved being brought back to the Dare family. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a fun, easy read. Austin and Quinn are so cute together. I was only disappointed the book was not longer.
Dare To Resist is a secret baby romance with a little suspense. When Austin literally finds a baby on his doorstep he calls on his executive assistant Quinn to lend a hand. As the undeniable chemistry builds between these two, temptation becomes too much to resist. As these two embark on their journey for a HEA, drama will unfold, vulnerability will be displayed and the truth behind the depths of their feelings will be evident. This was a fun, steamy and captivating story that had me enchanted right from the start.
4 Stars!
Having read Ms.Phillips’ work before I’ve been wanting to pick up more of her books! I’m so happy that I got the chance to with this first Dare Nation book! From the prologue I was hooked and didn’t put it down until I reached the end. I really enjoyed Dare To Resist!
Quinn and Austin’s journey got me right in the feels and was all kinds of blushworthy! I couldn’t get enough of the chemistry between these two! I really liked getting to delve a bit deeper with them and how I felt so much with them throughout.
I so enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story as well, especially Austin’s family!
Ms.Phillips has brought the heart and the heat with Dare To Resist! I can’t wait for the other Dare Nation books! I am so excited for Damon’s book Dare To Tempt to be released!

Austin Prescott, ex football player, sports agent, sexy, handsome bachelor who suddenly is a father…what does he know about babies? Panic sets in and instead of asking his family for help he calls his beautiful executive assistant Quinnlynn Stone begging for her help…
Quinnlynn “Quinn” Stone has been working for Austin and Dare Nation for over a year and loves her job! During all this time she has kept her attraction to her boss at arms length until he calls her for help…knowing she would never deny his call for help, she’s right there…
What happens between these two is hot chemistry, suspense, paternity test, family dynamics, her past history and supporting each other but will the future bring them together? Only time will tell…
This was a fun, romantic, steamy and heartwarming story it really had it all.. Quinn thinks she knows exactly what she wants in life until the complete opposite is thrown at her, then she is not so sure and Austin isn’t going to make it easier for her.. Really loved this introduction to the newest additions to the always growing Dare family.
Carly Phillips’ readers are going to love Dare to Resist! It’s a slow-burning, office romance with a single dad and a heroine who is going to fix everything!
Carly Phillips’ new series Dare Nation kicks off with Dare to Resist. I love a good series but even more love when each story can be read as a standalone. Dare to Resist is classic CP, a sweet and sexy romance.
I loved that we get a single dad romance crossed with a bit of office romance. Austin and Quinn are perfect for each other. I enjoyed their chemistry and their struggle to keep things strictly business.
I’m very much looking forward to reading more in the Dare Nation.
Austin Prescott, retired from the NFL and now running his own company as an agent for the Pro’s, is one hot guy. When he’s called to help his Uncle (finds out his biological father) to donate a kidney, he knows he needs an assistant. Enter Quinn Stone. Quinn is determined to make it in the sports world and wants this job bad but, having a hot looking boss is going to be a challenge. After a one-time hot kiss, they back off for a year and work well together. Until, Austin comes home one night to find a baby on his doorstep with a note stating it’s his little girl. Not sure what to do, he calls Quinn for help. Quinn, having raised her own siblings and cousins is a natural and she agrees to help him until he can find other help. Austin is having a hard time staying away from Quinn and she’s feeling the same. While together taking care of Jenny, they decide to act on their attraction for the length of when he needs help. Quinn, not ever wanting kids is a problem for Austin the more he comes to know her and fall in love with her. Can Austin convince Quinn that they are made for each other? Can Quinn overcome the promise to herself to never have kids? These characters will make you fall in love with them and baby Jenny. Through multiple issues, they grow as individuals and as a couple. I love the story line of this one and the ending leaves you wanting the next book like now. I’d highly recommend. Carly has done it again with her Dare series.

Sometimes what we think we want isn’t really what we really want.
Austin enjoys his free fun loving life. His only commitments are to his clients and family and that’s the way he likes it. That is until he finds a baby on his doorstep with a note saying she’s his. All of a sudden his free life is turned upside down and the first person he thinks to call is Quinnlyn his very organized assistant. Even if she’s hot and he has thought more than once about bending her over his desk right now he needs help of another kind.
Quinnlyn spent too many years growing up taking care of other peoples kids from her siblings to her cousins. She’s done with that life and doesn’t want to go back but agrees to help her very handsome boss for a few days because he is clueless when it comes to babies.
Can a few days of playing house lead to more. Can Austin and Quinn see that life can look different than they planned and be even better.
I loved Dare to Resist. It’s still in the world of Dares but a branch off. The chemistry between Austin and Quinn is awesome and steamy. It is so worth the read and I was sad to say good bye to these two.
I loved this book!
Austin and Quinn together are great. I love how they both abide by a working relationship for over a year before anything happens. Austin wants her but can’t do anything because of their working relationship. Quinn loves her job and the fact she isn’t being a nanny to her family’s kids.
Now add in a baby that Austin knew nothing about and you have the perfect storm. I love these two together.
Can’t wait to see how the rest of the Dares fare.
4 Stars
Carly Phillips brings us the first book to a new Dare Nation series and she’s off to a great start. Austin Prescott is an ex-NFL player turned sports agent and is looking for a new assistant. In walks Quinnlynn Stone with her sassy attitude and puts him in his place. These two have instant attraction, but both try to deny it since he’s her boss. Then throw in a surprise baby in the mix and these two start playing house. I really enjoyed this sweet and steamy read and I totally swooned over Austin and I have to say I’m totally intrigued and excited for Damon’s book.

Dare To Resist is the fisrt book in a brand new book in the Dare Nation Series and can be read as a
complete standalone. It is definitely the perfect story to start a new series – office romance, instant attraction, surprise baby, soprts, Ian Dare, fun, flirty, sexy and did i mention Ian Dare……who makes a few appearences.
I LOVE Carly Phillips Dare Series and boys this one does not disappoint. Right from the prolgue I was hooked and intrigued by these new Dare/Prescott’s – it most definitely kept my attention and once I started I could NOT put it down. Austin and Quinn take you on a journey where they both find out that change is good and it’s definitely OK to want things you originally thought you didn’t -change is good, very good for these two.
I cannot wait for the next instalment of Dare Nation – Damon Prescott and Evie Wolfe in Dare To Tempt
I loved Austin and Quinn’s story!!!! Austin hires Quinn to be his assistant and even though there’s a attraction, for the most part, they put it on the back burner and that all changes when in a moment of sheer panic he turns to his assistant over anyone else when he desperately needs saving
Loved this exciting and emotional beginning, was a sexy, fun and action packed adventure. Really enjoyed this emotionally thrilling journey filled with engaging and intriguing charters, witty banter, sleepless nights, heart racing twists and undeniable passion.
I love Carly Phillips books. They always manage to drag me completely into her world. They also typically create tears and/or laughter.
This kick off novel to her new series didn’t disappoint AT ALL. While Dare to Resist is the first in a series, as well as a bit of a spin off series, it is a stand alone and can be read on its own.
Carly brings us back to the Dare family via … the Prescotts??? I know, I was a bit shocked as well. All is explained pretty quickly and succinctly in the first few chapters.
Dare to Resist is Austin Prescott and Quinn Stone’s story. Austin is an arrogant ex pro football player turned player agent. Quinn is his blunt speaking newly hired executive assistant. The sparks of attraction are there, but Austin realizes quickly he needs Quinn as a cornerstone in his office for both of their success. Both work hard to suppress their attraction to the other.
A year later we find Austin and Quinn running an agent’s empire, but the strain of pushing down their attraction is beginning to become ever more difficult.
Then Austin returns home one evening to find a baby on his doorstep. HIS baby if the post it left in her carrier is believable.
As Austin watches his date of the night run as quickly as an Uber can pick her up, Austin already has Quinn on the phone begging for help.
Quinn has raised her siblings and cousins. She fought against her family’s thoughts that she should be a nanny or child care provider. She’s kicking professional butt and taking names. Quinn is focused, blunt and clear. No kids for her.
Finding Austin with an infant surprises her, but doesn’t knock off her game. She steps in, gets things settled and works to help hand the baby off to Austin and his family…except the family can’t help right away. Quinn agrees to move in with Austin to help with the baby until Mama Prescott is available to step in.
Moving Quinn into his home proves to be the final crack in a crumbling wall of denial. Austin finally gives into his attraction to Quinn. Austin convinces Quinn that having a brief fling with him while she’s staying with him would be beneficial for the both of them.
The longer Quinn stays, the more muddled life becomes. Her feelings for Austin and the baby deepen. Austin finds his life settling around “his girls”. It doesn’t help that Austin’s family is firmly #TeamAustinandQuinn. Can Quinn really leave Austin and his daughter? Can Quinn have a family AND her career?
Quinn’s answer comes to her as Austin’s daughter is put into danger and Quinn works with her family to rescue the infant.
Carly has once again written engaging characters that grow with their story. The support cast she offers Quinn and Austin are intriguing and delightful as well. Family dynamics from both Austin’s family (including the newly discovered ones) and Quinn’s family add into the office romance/unexpected baby plot of the story. Humor, advice, help and affection wrap our main characters up in a changing environment that finally proves to jostle up the status quo and resettle everyone in a new (and better) order.
I found this book to be a quick read, but a fulfilling one Ms. Phillips packs quite a bit into her words and leaves us with a perfect ending. Plus a lead into the next Prescott to fall…..
I’m now invested in Dare Nation. Would any one else want to jump on this series with me?
I love all of the Dares. And I am really loving that more and more are just popping up and the family is expanding. Dare to Resist had me smiling at the end. Austin is up first with Carly’s new series. He has recently found out he is part of the Dare clan. There is a lot going on in his life when we start the story. He needs someone that can bring in order with all of the chaos. That is where Ms. Quin comes in. There is a promise that she has made to herself that will throw a wrench into things happening through out the story.
I loved Jenny! She made my heart melt and the way Austin was all over the place, I could definitely relate. But Quin became our super hero in the story. Her strength and beauty inside really makes her shine.
Austin and Quin just fit together. They are truly meant to be and I loved that we can feel what Carly conveys with her characters. Damon is next in the series and there is a feisty PI that is surely going to turn his life inside out! The Dare Nation series is already off to a great start! I am excited to take on this new journey and new characters that already have me begging for more!!
Dare to Resist is the first book in this Dare spinoff Dare Nation. I am so excited to get to read this spinoff. The first book is starting with Austin Prescott and Quinnlyn “Quinn” Stone.
Austin is an ex NFL player now he is a sports agent and working with co-owner Paul Dare, his Uncle Paul or really his biological father.
I love the chemistry between Austin and Quinn. They just had to look at each other and they got hot for each other. And their first kiss was HAWT! They tried to stay away from each other. And, it worked that way for a while but eventually they succumbed to their attraction. But there are still problems and a big problem. She doesn’t want kids. Now what? You will have to read Dare to Resist to know how it all goes down!
Now this might be coming from left field but Quinn gives TimTams, an Australian cookie to Austin and I had to have one! So I will be trying TimTams as soon as Amazon can deliver my package of cookies.
Dare to Resist is a great start to a new spinoff series! I loved this new series! I can’t wait for the next book Dare to Tempt. It will be Damon’s story. Damon is a football player for the NFL and is Austin’s brother! 5 stars for Dare to Resist. Bring on the next book!
Quinn is a woman that had spent her whole childhood raising her siblings and cousins while her parents and aunt/uncle worked. As a grown woman she has decided the one thing she does not want is any children.
Austin is an ex-football player that now owns along with his uncle/biological father (you must read to find out what that is all about) a high rank sports agency, Dare Nation. He’s a playboy bachelor that has no intention of settling down.
Quinn goes to Dare Nation for an interview with Austin for a position as his assistant. Quinn is an intelligent woman that knows all about sports and can handle not only the job but also the big-headed athletes and their stuck-up wives (not a stereotype, just a fact). Austin likes not only what he see’s but also what he hears and the sassy woman in front of him that calls things as they are. He hires her on the spot.
Quinn is excided to be starting her new job but is worried about the attraction she feels towards her boss.
Austin is about to be out of the office on leave while recovering from surgery. When Quinn goes to his house a week after surgery and is sitting down alone with Austin talking to him, they experience their first kiss, a kiss that was interrupted by his brother. Although Austin and Quinn enjoyed the kiss, they are glad they were stopped as they know they can do nothing about the attraction between them, as they are boss and employee.
Skip ahead one year. Quinn has proven herself to be essential in Austin’s life. She is a fantastic worker and can handle anything. So, when Austin comes home one night to find a baby on his doorstep saying he is the father, the first person he calls is Quinn.
Quinn comes over to find what Austin is all in an uproar about. She decides to stay the night to help him with the baby since he is completely clueless when it comes to babies.
That is all I am going to let out of the bag. You will have to read to see Austin is the father or if Quinn ends up staying longer than a night. You will also read about if Austin and Quinn act anymore on their chemistry. You can find out if Quinn would ever except Austin if he does have a daughter.
A great loving read. You won’t be disappointed.
