He’s about to find a baby on his doorstep … and his assistant in his bed. Austin Prescott is a lot of things. Ex football player. Sports agent. And as of this morning? Father. Finding a baby on his doorstep should have been a joke but the pink sticky note and baby carrier she came in is deadly serious. What’s an out of his depth bachelor to do? Call his tempting and beyond gorgeous executive … gorgeous executive assistant and beg her to move in.
Quinnlyn Stone agrees to help Austin until he can straighten out his messy life. It’s just another item on her very long To-Do list. It’s absolutely not because she’s attracted to her very single and extremely handsome boss.

I say this every time I read this author but it always bares repeating…Carly Phillips is one of the best! Truly, she hooks you every time from page one. It is impossible to not love the characters. I LOVE all the Dare books. Doesn’t matter which Dare’s we are reading about, they are all my favorites!! From the first Dare guys to the new ones, they are all fantastic!! That all being said, Austin and Quinn are no different. This new Dare series is going to be amazing. I laughed so hard sometimes in this book and had many heartfelt “awww” moments too. And lets not forget the HOT moments. WHEW yep those are present as well. I can not wait for the next book in this series or any series from this author!

Love the Dares and enjoyed this beginning of a new series! What do you get when you mix a hotshot sports agent with a surprise baby and very attractive new employee?? A fun, flirty, hilarious and happy ever after!! Definitely a great read and a promising new series!!
Love the start to the new Dare series! Like the rest of Carly Phillips’ books you just get sucked right into the story from the first chapter. Austin hires Quinn as his assistant and sparks fly from the first second she come into the office. They do their best to deny their chemistry and keep a professional relationship. One night Austin comes home to find a baby girl on his front step that is apparently his. His first instinct is not to go to his large family but to go to the one person he can count on the most – Quinn. While past experiences make her wary of kids, Quinn immediately steps up to help Austin. And as he matures into a dad Austin realizes he needs Quinn as more than just an assistant. Great read and I can’t wait for more books in this series!

This is book one in the Dare Nation series and it features Austin Prescott and Quinnlyn Stone. Austin came home one night to find a baby on his porch. Panicked, he called his very efficient, very sexy executive assistant for help. These two throw off some serious sparks whenever they’re together. Quinn is great with kids but doesn’t want any of her own. When all is said and done, what’s left for two people in love when one wants children and the other doesn’t?
This is a fabulous series starter! The characters are well rounded and have steady growth throughout. All the Prescott siblings are Paul Dare’s biological children through sperm donation. They all know but still refer to him as Uncle Paul. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!
Sports romance and Carly Phillips = sold!
Sports agent Austin Prescott had hired Quinnlyn (Quinn) Stone as his assistant before he had surgery and never regretted hiring Quinn. Quinn had been his right hand and when he found an abandoned baby on his doorstep with a note saying she was his baby. Quinn was the first person he called because he didn’t know anything about babies, she helped Austin take care of the baby while he figured out what to do.
Quinn had just ended her engagement before Austin hired her because she didn’t want children but helping Austin out did have a way making her decide what she really wanted.
Austin Prescott is a sports agent and a Dare family member….a fun story for another day!
He meets his new assistant Quinn a few days before he has surgery to help a family member. These two have a moment and then decided to not pursue it and be professional.
Then, a year later a infant is left on his doorstep and he calls Quinn for help.
Austin needs help, still has the hots for Quinn. She’s helping him with the baby, anything can happen!
I read the synopsis and could NOT wait to read this book. Once I started I could not put this book down. Austin and Quinn’s story was captivating. It’s a bit of insta-love but set at a slow burn pace. It’s filled with all the delicious things one would want in a quick read. A great story with characters with off the chart chemistry. Austin is a former NFL star who owns a sports agency firm. He is looking for an Executive Assistant. In walks Quinnlynn aka Quinn. But although their attraction was instant, they decided to keep their relationship professional. Until a little someone appears in their lives. Austin comes home to find a baby on his door step. The only person he feels comfortable turning to for help is Quinn. With Austin out of his depth, he asks her to move in. This is where things heat up. Now in close quarters they not only learn that they make a great team for caring for a child but they also finally give into their attraction. I couldn’t get enough of them.
This is the first book in the Dare Nation series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read all of Carly’s Dare series and was able to follow along and enjoy this story with no problem. She does a great job of giving a quick recap of the characters and their backgrounds. This a great start to what I know is a great series.
Such a great heart felt read. Austin Prescott is a tough as nails sports agent that finds a baby left on his door step. He knows nothing about babies. He calls and asks his assistant Quinn to come help him. He’ been tryna g to avoid the chemistry between them for months. When Quinn shows up, she never expected his emergency to be a baby.
Quinn has always said she doesn’t want children, she was the family babysitter all her life. This sweet beautiful lil girl has cracked open her heart and so has her Dad. Its up to Quinn to decide what she really wants in her life.
Another extension of the Dare family to fall in love with.
Austin Prescott gets the shock of his life when he comes home to find a baby girl on his front porch and the first person he turns to is his assistant, Quinnlyn Stone. Quinnlyn would do just about anything for her boss but part-time Nanny might be a stretch. But one look at Austin holding this baby just makes her ovaries scream just how sexy Austin is. Will Austin and Quinnlyn take the next step or just ignore their feels for one another?
I loved the first two Dare family series and I can’t wait for more from this extended family. To was great to get the little updates on past Dare’s.
3.5-4 stars.
Fun!
Here we meet Quinn and Austin, she’s the perfect assistant he’s ruling the world, lol.
I liked Quinn and how much she loved her family, even when they were kinda unfair to her while growing up. They weren’t mean or anything, just didn’t ask her opinion about her life. Which in the end, made her doubt about it. Still, I loved her and how she took care of this new surprise baby, but still gave Austin space to do things himself.
Austin was in quite a pickle, lol. Man, one moment he was living one life, then the other he had a baby to take care. Still, it was pretty cute and funny at time to see him trying to take charge, lol. And how much he fell for that little girl. <3
All in all, it was a fun read and looking forward to reading more of these guys.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*
5 fabulous, amazing, wonderful stars! Carly Phillips knocked it out of the park with this book and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the Dare Nation series.
Austin and Quinn are such strong amazing characters. They both work hard and are independent, but the chemistry they feel when together is getting harder and harder to ignore. When Austin suddenly finds himself trying to raise a baby on his own Quinn steps in to teach him what he needs to know. Things start to get complicated when feelings begin to develop between the two.
This book had my dying to know how things were going to work out. I was hooked from the moment I started reading and could not put it down. Pretty much everything you want in a great story is here!

I really enjoy Carly Phillips books, and Dare to Resist was another fairly quick, fun read.
I liked Austin and Quinnlyn together. They were what each of them needed but never fully admitted, not helped by the fact that he was her boss and the dynamic that could change should things between them not work out concerned her and held him back.
That Austin’s first port of call on discovering the baby at his door was Quinn spoke of his trust and belief in her to have his back. Quinn’s willingness to help him, attraction aside, spoke of her caring nature and though I understood her thoughts on her future life after reading about how she grew up, it was obvious to see she was a natural when it came to the baby. Her determination that Austin would deal with bottles, nappy changes and other baby issues and his reaction to everything baby related made for some funny moments and I liked that she didn’t let him shirk his responsibilities – she was the difference to how he changed as a potential father.
A really good start to the Dare Nation series and I’m looking forward to seeing how Austin’s brother Damon deals with his female nemesis in Dare to Tempt.
4.5* and a recommended read.
I enjoy stories where the characters have to continue to fight off their attraction to each other because of jobs, friends, family etc.. But when a baby shows up on Austin’s door step and he has to turn to Quinn for help, the temptation goes way up. Quinn is done raising kids after taking care of all her younger sibling and Austin has finally stepped out of the Playboy spot light. When Austin and Quinn start spending countless hours together to take care of baby Jenny, they each have to work thru their past and do what is best for the baby. Will the two of them be able to work thru all the problems?
I think Carly did an amazing job with the start of another great series, can’t wait to see what she has for us next.
Dare To Resist is a romance I dare you not to fall in love with! I’d give this book 8 stars if I could, even though it nearly gave me a heart attack at one point. From start to finish, my heart was invested in the outcome of this story! A great spin-off from the Dare series, that you’ll kick yourself for not reading sooner. It’s never a dull moment with the Dare family, and I’ve enjoyed every chapter of their lives!
3.5 stars
Hmmm, where to start? A few mixed feelings about this story… To start though I am a HUGE sucker for a good office romance so I was sucked in right away. Where I was derailed a bit though was the fact that it took these two SO long to act on their attraction and the willingness of the original ‘bro’ Austin to soothe and fight his attraction in the arms of so many others. Left me with a bad taste in my mouth for a while. That said I enjoyed the chemistry between Austin and Quinn and the addition of the baby softened Austin as the story progressed. Where I would have liked a bit more ‘meat’ to the story was the back story of Quinn, her family and her aversion to children. What happened and why she felt this way for so long could have had a lot more detail. Overall though a cute (if a bit cliched) premise that was fun to read and kept me entertained for a couple of hours.
The Dare family continues to grow. A new branch of Dare’s is reveled when Austin’s Uncle Philip needs a kidney, his secret is brought to light. Austin needs an assistant in place before he donates a kidney to his uncle, actually his biological father. Quinn is an excellent assistant, except that Austin wants her for more than an assistant. Quinn needs a job and working for Austin is a dream job, except for the naughty dreams she has about her boss. Everything goes well until a baby is left on Austin’s doorstep and he calls Quinn for help. One week of playing house and their feeling for each other can no longer be denied. Carly Phillips writes an interesting twist to the Dare family tree.

This kicks off a new series. It started off with a bang. This was a quick read for me and I read it in a day. I really liked Quinn and Austin. They had great chemistry and I got really invested in their story. Austin with his daughter will melt your heart. This playboy ex-football player meets his match because the way he turns his life around for his little girl is beautiful. His executive assistant has caught his eye and makes him see his life in a whole new light. I loved Quinn. You can easily see she has a mothering gene in her, but her whole life growing up was taking care of the younger ones in her family so wanting kids is on the back burner. Things get very interesting when she decides to help Austin with his daughter. Could new dreams be realized? Or will her past old her back? Great characters that instantly pull you into the series. I loved the set up for the next book. It’s going to be one heck of a ride.
Austin is a Dare through his Uncle Paul, who him and his siblings find out is their biological father. He hires Quinn to be his personal assistant. One year later, Austin finds Jenny on his doorstep with a note that she is his daughter. He panics and calls Quinn for help. She has experience with babies, after taking care of her own siblings and cousins. Everyone wanted her to be a full time nanny, but she doesn’t even want children. They get into a routine that eventually develops into a sexual relationship. They take Jenny to work with them, and as time goes by Quinn falls in love with her. Austin isn’t even 100% sure that she is even his. He falls in love and realizes no matter if she is his or not, he wants to keep her. The birth Mother shows up when they have a babysitter. She takes her and runs. She gets ahold of Austin to meet her at a hotel with money and she will give Jenny back. The police handle it and get baby Jenny back. They go back home and settle Jenny in bed, then go to bed themselves where they talk and each says some important words.
The epilogue is a few weeks later, they are waking up together. Damon, Austin’s brother the football player, has tested positive for illegal substances, her swears he never knowingly took anything. Up next is Dare to Tempt about Damon and Quinn’s best friend Evie, a private investigator.

Austin and Quinn, another couple that are just meant to be! I really really enjoyed this book. I loved the pace of the story, yes it seemed quick but not really. Quinn was such a sweetheart, so loyal and determined, sometimes got stuck in her own head, but then Austin did that a little too! Now talking of Austin, OMG I loved the man, he was sweet and sexy; fun and loyal and when he loved he loved hard and protected those he loved with his all.
This story captured my heart from the very start, which is not unusual when I read this authors work. She certainly knows how to tell a story that will capture your mind and heart, even if only for a short space of time. I loved the emotions that this book evoked, whether that was jealousy or elation, love or sadness, the author makes you feel every emotion through setting the scene and drawing you in.
Loved it and can’t wait for Damon and Evie’s story!

Dare to Resist is a surprise baby, workplace romance that is the beginning of the new Dare Nation series from Carly Phillips and can be read as a standalone or as the first book in the series. Austin is a retired football player turned sports agent who is enjoying his life all while attempting to fight his attraction to his executive assistant. Quinn is determined to prove that she is more than her family thinks she should be all while fighting her attraction to her overly sexy boss. When Austin returns home after a night at the bar he finds a baby on his doorstep and in a moment of panic he calls Quinn to help him and begs her to move in. Austin and Quinn had amazing chemistry and worked well together but I found Quinn to be a little too much with her constant reminder of not wanting children. This was my first experience with Carly Phillips and I am looking forward to more books by her and the next story in the Dare Nation series.
