After inheriting a small fortune, Willow Perry has everything she’s ever wanted. Except a husband, that is. But not just any husband will do. She’s looking for a grand love—someone who will challenge and excite her. It’s just her folly that the one man who interests her is a notorious rake. He’s as wild and passionate as Willow is sheltered and staid. Love between such polar opposites would be … impossible … wouldn’t it?
Abraham Blackwood has devoted his life to the pursuit of pleasure. He’s perfectly happy to run his gaming den and ignore the expectations of society. But meeting the lovely Willow gives him another goal. Revenge. Making her pay for the sins her family committed against his will be easy. Ignoring how much he wants her—not only beneath him, but at his side, forever? That might prove to be infinitely more difficult.
When Willow discovers Abraham’s true intentions, can the fragile bonds they’ve begun to form survive? Or will the cards remain firmly stacked against their happily ever after?

My review :
Will he need for revenge destroy his chance at happiness…
In two days, this is the second book with a revenge trope I read, this is not my favorite theme as it is often angsty and painful stories.
While it went the way I supposed it will, at time, I was upset with the heroine.
She repeats again and again she is looking for love and from the beginning she knows who Lord Riley is and what he might never be, he is the total opposite of a man who will suit her request, still she pursues him and is even angered when he feigns indifference or ignores her.
She plays with fire and risks to be heavily burned, yet she willingly follows him.
I would have liked her better if she would have made a choice, lust and an affair with the rake and eventually the outcome which may result or a possible family with her perfect gentleman, but she played on both boards, which unsettled me.
As for Abe, his prey was very wrongly chosen, and the retribution he had in mind was harsher than the offense.
As I thought his mother’s given reason to leave him behind was a bit on the weak side, the truth is more believable but still.
Worse, when the truth is revealed, I do not understand how his mother could have kept everything hidden so long when her own son lived a dissolute life like his father, facing the same risk.
After Willow is a compassionate woman who knows what it is to live under someone’s will. When Abe should have been shunned by his friends for his part in Willow’s ruin, and a bit of groveling would have been welcome too.
This said, it is an enjoyable read with some steam.
4 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the author, prior to it I preordered my own.

Holy cow, did I love this story. Abe is a horn-dog and loves his life. Willow is a girl who wants to live life and enjoy herself. When these two come together, fireworks and not always the good kind. I loved watching their hate to love relationship bloom. The characters are so well written and the story flows so fluently that I read this book in one afternoon. This is my favorite book of this series (so far). I cannot describe how much I loved it!
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
Another great read in this series – it can easily be read as a stand alone book but all the books have been great so why not start in the beginning? Abraham “Abe” Blackwood, Marquess Ryley is exactly what the dictionary describes as an “alpha male”. He is handsome, arrogant, dark, & lived his life according to his rules – to hell with society. He is a womanizer, owns & runs a wicked gaming hell & gladly lives up to his well known reputation. Willow Perry has inherited her aunt’s estate, & now she may run her life as she wishes – she is happy, wants true love & a family but first she wants to experience a little excitement, passion & scandalous fun. Abe is just the man to help her out in her need for some debauchery – their humor, sexy times, friendship, romance & finally a HEA is so entertaining & I couldn’t put it down until “The End”! I highly recommend this book and the entire series – you won’t be disappointed!
This was a twisted tale of love and hate. Very entertaining and a good read.
Scandal and revenge makes for salacious reading.
Extremely Vulgar and Unbelievable Story
Over the years, I have read and enjoyed many of Tamara Gill’s novels. Imagine my surprise while reading Dare to be Scandalous. The plethora of verbal vulgarities and explicit onscreen sex in this revenge to love story was staggering. Sadly, the lead male character (I refuse to call him a hero) was very unlikable, and the lead female character wasn’t much better. I kept putting this read down and even considered not finishing it. However, I did finish it, and although the ending was happy, the author could not resist one last sex scene in the epilogue.
Content 411: In addition to vulgar language (including 14 “f” bombs) and degrading sexual terms, there are also numerous explicit onscreen sex scenes.
Very much enjoyed Abe and Willow’s journey to love.
Unnecessary graphic sex to the level that I felt it was really pornography a d just deleted it.
A scandalous marquess hellbent on revenge, a forward thinking lady with a desire to be wed and so begins the tale of lust and love.
Very nice read!
Good read
This story was scandalous and marvellous!! Dare To Be Scandalous is book 3 in the League of Unweddable Gentlemen series by Tamara Gill.
Willow and Abe were a great pairing. I loved how Willow was sheltered but daring and she matched Abe, the notorious Marquess very well with lots of chemistry and passion. There’s was a true hate to love relationship. The main plot revolved around Abe’s revenge toward Willow’s family. Throw in a gambling hell, an engagement, misunderstandings gives you a worthy happily ever after.
Regency soft porn – effing awful. I couldn’t read beyond the fellatio scene very early.
Oh, how I wished the h was different. She started out knowing what she wanted, mainly to marry for love. Her dying aunt tells her not to spend all her inheritance on the unfortunates. I didn’t see her do this at all, except for helping her friends who weren’t unfortunates.
The h seemed to forget the love part and lets a known rake certain liberties. She knows he not only has a mistress, but she lives with him. When she became another mark on his bedpost, my opinion of her went down.
The story starts out with heat level 5 out of 5 with the H and his mistress. The bedroom scenes between the H/h are about 4 out of 5.
Twists I didn’t see coming and raised by rating. There is some drama when all is revealed is wrapped up quickly. There is a nice epilogue 4 months in the future.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, more lust than romance and plenty of steam. (ljb)
Abraham Blackwood, Marquess Ryley, owned a gambling den, had a mistress, investments, and was wealth. He was also tall, good looking, black hair, and sun-kissed skin. he was also a Scoundrel and a cad. He had a lot going for him but the ton thought he was no good. His mother had been run out of town when some ladies who were her friends turned against her. She fled back home to Spain. His father never forgave her.
Miss Willow Perry had taken care of her aunt for eight long years but her aunt died a year ago and gave everything to Willow that was not entailed. Abe hated the Vance family, her aunt was the last.
She had invited two of her four best friends to come to stay with her, Evie and Molly. Ava and Hallie were lucky and had gotten married. The first time she met Abe, it was at her masquerade party to celebrate coming out of mourning and her coming into society.
He wanted revenge for his mother being driven out and Willow was the last Vance. He was going to ruin her financially. The characters were amazing. The Marquess was a horrible stinker. Emotionally they both went thru a lot and things kept happening and made it worse. It will keep your attention and it is a smooth and easy read. This tale has so much going for it. I read this in one afternoon and enjoyed every word.
I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
Dare To Be Scandalous by, Tamara Gill was superb! Willow and Abe’s love affair was drama, passionate, steamy and a little erotic. I loved all of it. The way these two fought each other because of their true feelings for each was intense. Abe’s character was well written.
His whole in the book helped Willows character to become the woman, who she new that she could be and that was a fighter. She fought herself so hard to deny her feelings for him, but every time she looked at Abe all bets were off. This book is a wonderful read. I recommend this book. My fellow readers, until next time… read on!
I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
This is a quick read. Do not let that fool you. This is a full read story. In other words, from beginning to the end you will be intellectually and emotionally engaged with the ongoing story. This kept a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it. The main characters are very dynamic, lusty, red-blooded, robust and invigorating. The story keeps the pace up at a comfortable speed and before you know it you are at the end. I appreciated the epilogue as it tied up all the loose ends quite nicely. A fully satisfying read. I do recommend it.
Willow Perry inherits a small fortune from her aunt. She’s been a companion to her aunt Viscountess Vance for the last several years and now she’s ready to live her life. She’s been sheltered and innocent and with the help of her friends is ready to experience all that London has to offer. Abraham Blackwood, Marquess Ryley nicknamed the Spanish Scoundrel has devoted his life to the pursuit of pleasure and revenge by ruining Willow. He owns a scandalous gaming den Hell’s Gate. When he meets Willow he finds he’s extremely attracted to her, but his need for revenge against her aunt is more powerful. I love the witty banter and sexual tension as these two try to fight they’re feeling. What will happen when Willow finds out Abe’s reasoning and revenge against her? Can their new found struggling love survive the ultimate betrayal? An excellent book I voluntarily read and reviewed.
Willow Perry has been held back and she is finally free to explore life. Her aunt has passed and left her a fortune. I love how kind Willow is, especially to her friends. Her friend’s husband’s ask their friend, who they trust, Abraham Blackwood to watch out and protect Willow. That’s like setting the fox to watch the hen house. The whole part with his mother real bugged me but I don’t want to spoil it. I really enjoyed the book and have loved this series.
The Spanish Scoundrel. A chance of revenge. An innocent having no idea.
Willow had inherited her aunt’s fortune when she had passed and she know felt she could seek out a man to love and have a family. It had been a year since her aunt’s passing and she had opened up her house to give a masquerade ball. She was ready to break out and enjoy herself!
Two of her good friends and their husbands attended and they brought Abe Blackwood, Lord Ryley who rarely went out into society. Was he as handsome and decadent as everyone said?
He was handsome, a little mysterious and she found he was asked to watch and keep her safe from men trying to compromise her for her money. But that was kind of having the cat watch the canary!
A fast past steamy read that will have you in knots waiting to see what happens.
As always Tamara Gill delivers her trademark exciting story that will keep you reading and sighing at the end!
