I loved how it wasn’t an easy path for these two. And how Michelle thought she could be with Jonah if she gave him a challenge. But mostly I loved that they both grew individually! And I loved a couple of twists the author threw in, no spoilers here though. Great and easy read, especially in these pandemic times.
Super cute, super fun, this is the second installment to the Truth or Dare series. This is a great short read when you don’t have a lot of time, but need a little something to brighten your day. This cute friends to lovers story is about Michelle and Jonah. Jonah has been publicly humiliated by his ex and Michelle tries to cheer him up by convincing him to go on a couple’s retreat to Hawaii with her. The dare? You guessed it, don’t fall in love. That will be a little challenging for Michelle as she is already in love with Jonah and she is out to make him notice her romantically. This story, although short, had just the right amount of twists and turns to make you wonder if there will be a HEA. Loved the dynamic between these two friends, and the chemistry was undeniable. Like I said early on, super fun and super cute! Can’t wait to read the third dare!
I was gifted a complimentary copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Michelle wants to help Jonah get over his ex who publicly broke his heart and make him see her in a romantic light by going away together on a couples retreat dare. But then his ex is there and it gets a little crazy complicated. I laughed at the couples massage and dancing singing competition. I would love to go to Hawaii someday, but not on such long flights for just a weekend visit.
“Dare Number Two: Don’t Fall in Love” by Laura Burton
A fun light sweet clean contemporary romance novella, doesn’t that just say it all? Yes I had a really good time with this truth or day Hawaiian holiday. Now I am off to read Dare Number Three. Will I see you there? Happy Reading !!
Note: I received an ARC of this story from the author. This review is my honest opinion of this read.
A fun short clean second chance romcom! Such a delightful series!
These are the perfect length for those times you only have an hour and you want to be able to finish the story. There’s enough content to fall in love with all of the characters and see that their love has started before the dare. Such a sweet story. I love how Tessa comes back and he still chooses Michelle. Plays out very nicely. Well written.
This is my honest, voluntary opinion. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.
Michelle and Jonah go to Hawaii. The challenge is easy: don’t fall in love.
This story is a rollercoaster of emotions, from the hillarious dance competition scene where Michelle gets stuck to the heartbreaking feelings the blast from the past brings.
I really liked watching Jonah’s awakening to his feelings and Michelle’s insight of her behaviors.
And, also, Katya and Ryker’s challenge is now set. Can’t wait to see if they succeed or if they have to swim in the Hudson as some have had to…
I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion
I would have taken this dare without hesitation since Hawaii is #1 on my bucket list of places to visit. Attending a couples retreat would make it even better. This is another nice, short read with a momentous surprise for Jonah. When it’s cold at home. escape to warmth in this story. I received an ARC. This is my unbiased, voluntary opinion.
This is book 2 and this book was another enjoyable read in this series! The great character and storyline development had me hooked from the very beginning and Jonah and Michelle kept me totally engaged in this quick and fun read!
I received an ARC of Dare Number Two: Don’t Fall in Love by Laura Burton thanks to the publisher through BookSprout in exchange for an honest review.
After I read Dare Number One, I immediately signed up to receive alerts for Laura Burton future books because it was so sweet. When I was given the opportunity to read and review Dare Number Two, I was thrilled. And it lived up to my expectations completely.
This short story follows Michelle and Jonah as they travel to a couple’s retreat in Hawaii after taking on the dare “don’t fall in love”. With Jonah’s broken heart, he doesn’t think it will be hard to do and he’ll get to enjoy a vacation to Hawaii. But Michelle has other plans for the man she loves.
There was just the right amount of conflict/tension to make it feel like it may not be a ‘happily ever after’ without making it overly complicated. Since this is less than 100 pages, only so much can included and what is really wanted is the development of a potential romance. This managed that balance perfectly. There were some parts that were really cheesy or ridiculous (like who they find when they arrive), but it they made sense, even if I rolled my eyes about it (you need to know if the dare is being done, right?).
If you are looking for a quick romance where the characters already know each other so it’s not quite insta-love, this series should be your go-to.

I liked this book. It was interesting to find Jonah and Michelle’s truth or dare take them to a couple’s retreat in Hawaii. The dare was don’t fall in love. I thought it was finny and quite a coincidence that Jonah’s ex-girlfriend, Tessa ended up there too. I liked that because it made for an interesting storyline. There’s only two people left for dare number 3. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Book two in the series brings best friends Jonah and Michelle’s story. The author brings a cast of strong characters and weaves a short and sweet feel good story. It’s well written with descriptive scenes and is an entertaining read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
If you want to read a cute story, with a happy ending, and lots of funny parts, make sure you take this one. Laura Burton wrote Dare number 2 with flowing language, a bit of mischief, good-humor, and focused on romance. It´s a fast and lovely reading that keeps the reader entertained during covid times.

Jonah and Michelle
-‘ That’s why this dare is easy. There’s no way I can fall for Michelle. I’m not sure I’m even capable of feeling love for anyone again.’-
Jonah was hurt and humiliated when his girlfriend turned down his proposal and it went viral. Michelle has been in love with Jonah forever and she comes up with a plan to use reverse psychology on him to get him to fall in love with her. But when Jonah’s ex shows up in Hawaii will the flames spark again? Will Michelle’s plan backfire?
I loved that it was finally Michelle’s turn to have the dare as I was looking forward to reading her story. It didn’t disappoint.

Finding The Courage To Reveal Their Truths –
I have read a few Laura Burton books and I have not come across any of her books that I have not devoured, with vigour. I have read books one and two in the truth or dare series, and I can assure you, book three is just as amazing a read as the previous two. The story captured my attention from the beginning and held it all the way through, right until the end. If you want to read a feel good book, then I suggest you get this book.
