Danil’s Mate (An Alpha Bear Shifter Romance)
Secret Shifters of Spokane, Book 1
By: Selena Scott
Narrated by: Craig A. Hart, HotGhost Productions
I loved this book, it swept me in right from the start and captivated my attention right to the end. Selena Scott is a gifted author, she has a creative and imaginative mind. And while her stories and characters are fascinating and imaginative they are still realistic and easy to relate to, at least that is what she has you believing as she brings you into the world she created. The first book of the “Secret Shifters of Spokane” series is Danil Malashovik’s book, he is an immigration lawyer and the youngest son of Katya and Ilya. He is a bear shifter just like his older brothers, Maxim, Emin and Anton. Up rest in their old country, Belarus forced them to leave and they made a new life for themselves in Spokane. Danil met Pandora “Dora” Katsaros several hours earlier so he was surprised when she showed up at his parents door asking questions about bears in spotted in the woods. Definitely raised a flag for him and he wanted her gone and away from his family. But there was something about her that drew her to him and set him off balance. Dora is cunning and smart, as an investigative reporter she knows how to read people and work them too. She is in Spokane investigating something that is of interest to the Malsahovik family. Danil has met his match in Dora and I loved how their story plays out, it is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some twists and turns, some mystery, thrilling & suspenseful moments, heartfelt moments and the start of a wonderful romance. I loved these two together and for each other. Also loved the tightness of the family and how they accepted Dora with open arms. I am looking forward to what comes next in this series, each brother gets his own book and can be enjoyed on its own but I highly recommend starting with this book, it is where you first meet them all, not to mention it is an awesome book. Selena Scott, thank you for this amazing story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Craig A. Hart is a terrific narrator and voice artist. He does a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life giving each their own voice and personality. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures the characters emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
This is the first book in the Secret Shifters of Spokane, an Alpha Bear Shifter Romance. Danil and Pandora (Dora)’s short story is fun, steamy, fast-paced, and intriguing. This is a great start to the Series. Danil is an immigration lawyer and a bear shifter. He is the youngest of four brothers. Dora is an investigative reporter. She is a wonderful character, strong and independent. The supporting characters are great and intriguing. I would love to know more about Danil’s brothers, Emin, Maxim, and Anton. I love the happy ending, and the opening to the next installment, Emin’s Mate. Craig A. Hart has a great voice, and he did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it!
Pandora is an investigative journalist. She’s been tracking a huge story and ends up in Spokane where she heard there were bears. Danil is the youngest of four brothers that came to the US with their parents. He worked really hard to help his family settle in here. Now he’s an attorney helping others. Pandora and Danil did not start off on the right foot. Their chemistry made for some fun interesting times. I loved the way that he couldn’t talk straight when Dora was around. He worked so hard to blend in and she rattled that cage. The rest of his family is a large part of the story. Family is number one priority. This made me laugh and I loved them.
*WARNING* contains explicit adult love scenes
Dora loved to go with her father the P.I. Dora’s father taught her how to be observant, how to see things others wouldn’t. Dora became a journalist with the skills her father taught her and her natural curiosity. Dora works tirelessly now that her father is gone and she is alone.
Danil is the youngest of 4 boys. Danil became a lawyer when his family moved to America, they are also bear shitfer’s.
I enjoyed this a lot. I liked that there wasn’t several shifters involved. I liked the idea of hunting down a foe like Navuka. The characters are wonderful even though there a bit bossy, they fit. This story is just different enough frim other shifter books to make it interesting. “Danil’s Mate” leaves a couple of unanswered questions to hopefully be answered in upcoming books, but this story still feels complete.
Ms. Scott has an unrivaled way with words!
Dora learned from her father how to see and interpret behaviors to analyze accurately the reason behind the actions. She misses him. Now she’s looking for something…and she finds someone. Danil Malashovik. I love how these two are together. She’s wary at first, but Danil has a way of convincing her! I have great admiration for the Malashovik family. They are exuberant, loving, protective and welcoming. They seem to live life to the fullest. This is a delicious love story amidst a very dangerous situation that Dora is trying to expose. A great story – I recommend it!
