Known as the Graveyard of the Pacific, Barkley Sound is notorious for surging swells with the power to pull helpless victims into its merciless abyss… sleepy town is rife with secrets. But what unsettles her most is the residents’ insistence that she bears a striking resemblance to the victim of a murder from three decades earlier. She shrugs off the uncanny likeness as a coincidence. But her simmering attraction to Finn Carver, one of the divers who discovered the corpse, isn’t so easy to ignore.
Finn, a former Special Forces soldier, knows it’s best to keep his distance from Holly. Yet it isn’t long before they both give in to the consuming desire they share. And as the danger escalates, Finn and Holly must rely on each other to thwart the plans of a cold-blooded killer who’s intent on keeping the past buried.

This is my second Toni Anderson book, and holy smokes, it did not disappoint. Not only does she pull you into the creepy, yet magical scenery of Barkley Sound, she grips you with another page-turning thriller topped with toe-curling sexual tension between two very likeable characters. Toni Anderson’s ability to make each chapter more thrilling …
Holly is a detective with the Canadian police. Finn is a diver and him and his boss find a sunken ship and go to explore. They find a body with a knife sticking out of its chest. Holly and her team are trying to find a killer and everyone is under suspicion. Everyone in town says she looks just like a woman that was killed thirty years ago. That …
Dangerous Waters is an entertaining story written by a very talented author. Toni Anderson’s descriptions of the people and areas of Bamfield made it come alive . I could see what she was describing and felt like I was there, and that was great! The story was sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking. This romantic suspense is not to be missed, add …
I’ve read several Toni Anderson series. I enjoyed this book tremendously and plan to continue reading more by this author.
I love the action mixed with romance. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
The setting is the west side of Vancouver Island, Canada. While scuba diving Finn and the professor find a dead man in a sunken boat, who killed him? A police unit is called in to solve the crime. The officer in charge falls in love with Finn. At the same time she is wondering if he’s the murderer. She thought she had to choose between her job and …
This was only my second Toni Anderson book, and once again she kept me turning the pages until the very end.
Dangerous Waters is about a small town full of secrets, flawed characters, with a setting perfect for the seedier side of life. The author wove together complex plot threads and story lines that kept my interest and had me guessing until …
awesome!!! I’m off to buy any more in this series!
Loved the twists
I pride myself in being able to figure out ‘who done it’ with most mystery novels. Toni Anderson got me with this one. Had me guessing all the way to the reveal and I wasnt even close!!! Bravo! Another fabulous book with an edge of your seat plot, detailed backstory of characters and wonderful relationship for Holly and Finn. I loved everything …
My first trip into Dangerous Waters with Toni Anderson and I’m hooked.
This story ticked off all of my boxes, intriguing story line, strong multi-layered characters and a complete page turner.
I fell in love with dive master, Finn Carver and investigator, Sargeant Holly Rudd from their first meeting. Certainly the scene of a murder is not …
The ‘mystery’ was well plotted and kept one guessing as to who was who and why things happened the way they did. As the story progressed the ‘back stories’ came to life and filled in the gaps. It had a little too much ‘steamy’ sex for me, but it was well written too. I love a good mystery, just with a little less romance.
A good read. Am enjoying the series. Looking forward to the next book.
Will definitely read the next one…
I really liked both of The Barkley Sound books, Toni Anderson is a great romantic suspense writer. You can’t go wrong if you read these two books. You will fall in love with both of the books hero’s.
Greater writer. I loved this book and I’m starting the 2nd book in the series.
Read a while ago. Love all her books though.
