Dangerous Secrets is the fourth in a series set in small-town Wisconsin but is a stand-alone story. Although there are references to previous situations, it does not detract from this story and only made me want to go back and read the other books in the series. Great series with wonderful characters who will keep your attention. Leah’s close friend, Miguel rents his house out for the weekend. Upon his return, his renter is found dead inside the house. Leah becomes involved trying to get to the website that connects older men with young women. These women seeking financial support and are willing to do just about whatever the sugar daddy wants. In the course of trying to out what happened, Leah stumbles on other crimes that need solving. There are sinister plots, plenty of secrets, twists and subterfuge to keep you turning the pages. Just when you thought you had it figured out the author throws you for a loop.
Leah Nash, one time reporter is back. Back in town, living in a condo above the newspaper she quit, she receives a huge shock. While gone, her very best friend Cooper went and married Rebecca…..Cooper as a detective had broken up with Rebecca for some serious lies. Rebecca, running the paper, had tried her best to rid Leah, considered her competition.
Leah has matured in this adventure a bit, which is great….it doesn’t mean she won’t keep looking for reasons to hate Rebecca.
Miguel still works for the paper and coming back from a trip discovers a dead woman in his home. It seems he’d rented it to her for a bit…like an online rental. It kind if makes you think twice of doing the same!
Poor Miguel’s family is looked into and it seems there is a connection and a reason for the murder. The dead woman was running a businesss…a very old business with a new twist.
And Leah and a new lawyer named Gabe investigate as Leah’s ex hubby, Nick, tries to
keep Leah to himself and his needs. The old gang is here, Courtney, the mean girl, April the new girl, Rebecca, and others. Light hearted mystery with good clues, new cast members, secrets, and several good suspects. A nice mystery with heart. 4.5 stars
Can’t wait to read her next one…..saying its nice means it won’t give you nightmares or scare you to death, you will enjoy it!
Dangerous Secrets is the fourth book in the Leah Nash Mystery series and I absolutely loved this book! There were times that I was certain I had figured things out and I was thrown a curve ball. I have really enjoyed this series so far and reading about Leah and the excitement in Himmel, Wisconsin. There were times when Leah seemed immature and stubborn but I do like that she has flaws like the rest of us. I really did enjoy the twists in this book and I could not stop reading until I finished the book. I really enjoyed the writing and suspense in this book and I cannot wait until the next installment comes out.
