This is my first book by this author. Certainly won’t be the last. This is deep, soulful, emotional, heartfelt, slow-burn, angsty read with all the feels, enemies to lovers and taking chances. The writing just flowed and had me engrossed to the story from start to finish wanting to find out what happens next. I enjoyed every minute of it and never wanted it to end. I loved that it was written in dual POV. It was well developed, well written and thought out. It was sweet, steamy and a suspenseful romance. The characters are amazing and so likeable. It’s easy to fall for them. The characters were loveable and endearing, even though sometimes challenging. I have to say that even though I haven’t read the first book, I could piece together the events and situations. I really need to read the book 1, though. I need to fall in love with Logan and Aubs like I fell in love with Danny and Kat.
Danny O’Rourke is an FBI agent. He is hard and difficult man jaded by what happened to his sister. He carries so much guilt and blames himself for what happened to Aubrey. He blames himself for her being kidnapped and that it took so long to find her. Danny doesn’t like that Aubrey refuses to come home and that he isn’t able to help her with her memories and nightmares. He thinks he lost her. Danny also feels resentment towards the Caldwells. He thinks nobody can take care of his sister like him. Danny feels lost and vulnerable which he doesn’t want to admit. He works too hard in order not to think about his problems
Kat Caldwell is Logan’s sister that is probably introduced in the first book which I gathered from everything I read in this book. I really want to know how Danny and Kat met and what was their initial reaction to each other. She is tough, sassy, smart, has a fiery personality and overall a really kickass heroine. She can take care of herself. Kat is also vulnerable which she doesn’t want to admit or ask for help when she needs it. I love the brothers/sister relationship and the friendship between Aubrey and Kat.
Danny and Kat are amazing. I just love opposites attract, enemies to lovers trope. Danny and Kat can’t stand each other and yet there is undeniable pull and attraction between them. They are both protective of the people they love and care about and so stubborn. I loved their bickering, banter and arguing about anything and everything. That’s what makes them them. They are also passionate and intense. Danny and Kat are both dealing with their own baggage and past. Even though they are different they are both similar in some way. I loved Danny’s protectiveness of Kat and the way he wanted her close to him. He didn’t want to fail this time. I love that they balance each other and that they are perfectly imperfect. Danny and Kat accept each other flaws and everything.
I loved Danny and Deke’s friendship. Deke is an amazing character, a great friend and partner to Danny. I love his easy going manner and charm. I also think that Danny has a great character development. Loved the epilogue.
Highly recommend it. I really hope we get Seth or Deke’s story. Out of all secondary characters I love those two the most and would like to see them get their own HEA.
Enemies to lovers fans, this is the book for you. It has a great push and pull between two characters who start out with an annoyance towards each other that turns into feelings no one expected. But this isn’t just a romance. This book has a great suspense and mystery element. Fans of crime shows should totally read this book. This is a second book in a series but can be read as a standalone.
*If you haven’t read the first book stop because there may be some spoilers *
This is the story of Danny, a police agent, and Kat, sister to the sheriff that is in a relationship with Danny’s sister Aubrey. Danny and Kat can’t stand each other. They both are stubborn and protective of the ones they love. But that’s what makes them such a great match. They challenge each other and definitely make life interesting. But they both have their own issues to deal with. Danny feels guilt that he couldn’t keep his sister Aubrey safe from a madman who abducted her. And Kat doesn’t deal with her feelings and shuts them away and shuts everyone out around her. They might be just what each other needs. And if the confusing emotions of what they think is hate to love aren’t enough, there is serial killer on the loose and Kat might be his next target.
Read this book. Fall in love with these characters. You will laugh out loud at Kat and Danny and their bickering. I haven’t read the first book. I was able to follow along just fine. But it has made me want to read the first book and know more about the story. This is a great story line with great characters. This author pulls in the reader and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat the whole time. And I hope there is more from these characters. And if you think you have this mystery figured out, think again.
This is the second book in this amazing series, and is Danny and Kat’s story. Danny is an FBI agent who is an overprotective brother to his sister, but he does not get on to well with the feisty Kat, so when she is about to become the next victim for a dangerous killer, he will do whatever he has to in order to protect her. This is a well written story, which had me intrigued and hooked throughout, and I cannot wait to read more of this talented authors’ work. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers!
Family means everything and you can’t blame yourself for something that happened in the past because if someone truly loves you, they will forgive you. Sometimes you have to let go of the ones you love to help them grow and find their way.
Danny O’Rourke is still plagued by the guilt of not being able to prevent his sister Aubrey from being kidnapped. She is fine now, but someone else is comforting her and helping her recover; her boyfriend Logan Caldwell. He hates being jealous of Logan, but this is what she wants so he needs to respect her wishes. The only positive aspect of their relationship is Logan’s beautiful and spunky sister, Kat. He had been crazy about her since the moment they met and when he found out she was coming to Florida to pack up Aubrey’s apartment, he couldn’t be happier. His job as an FBI agent keeps him very busy and even though he is in the middle of a big case, he will make time to see her.
Kat was immediately attracted to Danny when she first met him, and she always thought he looked sad but maybe that was because he felt responsible for his sisters disappearance. When he showed up at his sister’s apartment, she was surprised to see him and not sure why he was there. Everything about Danny appealed to her, from his sexy stubble, tanned skin and hot body. She could see in his eyes that he desired her, but he was keeping his distance and she wasn’t sure why. It may be up to her to make the first move and she hoped that Danny was up for the challenge, because if she didn’t show him how she really felt, she may never get another chance.
Why does Danny feel that Kat may be connected to the case he is working on?
Will he be able to keep her safe and out of harm’s way?
Will Kat tell Danny how she really feels, regardless of the consequences?
“Dangerous Memories” is the second book in The Lucky Town series and I was so caught up in the intriguing storyline that I read the book in one sitting Romance and suspense are equally mixed resulting in an exciting and compelling story. Danger and conflict surround all of the characters which kept me guessing until the very end. I love
Amanda’s writing style and I am looking to what she has in store for us next.
This book is a great addition to the series. It was great getting to see how Danny and Kat’s relationship progress. There is a lot of twist and turns that keep you guess who the bad guy is and how it correlates to Aubrey. I also loved that you get a glimpse of Logan and Aubrey and where they are in their relationship. Can’t wait to get into Seth’s book.
In Book I of the Lucky Town novel series, Escaping Memories by Amanda Siegrist, we met Logan and Aubrey. Now, I am excited to meet Danny and Kat.
I have loved spending time with this tight knit, yet dysfunctional group of friends and family. But, what is normal? I think we all have our own definition. They have been through some traumatic events and struggle to overcome the lingering fears and nightmares.
Danny’s sister, Aubrey, had been kidnapped. Even though they got her back, that doesn’t mean danger doesn’t seek them out. This time, his love interest, Kat, is the target.
Amanda Siegrist puts her characters through some perilous times, but she loves a happy ending. She just makes them take a twisted path to get there.
I love romantic suspense. The danger and love make my heart beat a little faster. I love seeing characters put through hell, but come out the other side, happy and, somewhat, healthy. What is life without someone special?
I immediately began reading Book 3, Stolen Memories, and if you are looking for love, I highly recommend Amanda Siegrist’s work.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Dangerous Memories by Amanda Siegrist.

Another enjoyable book in series that’s still a bit on the lighter side for my tastes, but was again kept interested by the amount of suspense packed in that kept me guessing.
I disliked/ was disappointed in some of the characters that we met in first book in series, which was a shame especially since their actions took away some of the shine that the main couple of this book should of had.
Would still reccomend
This book contained mystery, suspense, murder, fanger, and romance. Couldn’t put this book down until finished. Highly recommend
I really loved book two of these series and I thought was a good romance-drama story and I enjoyed reading about these two characters.
When it comes to a good suspense with a dash of romance, I love coming to read Amanda’s books. Dangerous Minds (which I read as a standalone) is a thrilling and angsty ride! I was nerve wrecking my brain with trying to figure out the who. Danny is perfect as the hero of our story. He has so much going on in his head and later in his heart. I knew Kat was different and what Danny perceived her to be.
I was hooked on the story line until the very end. The Blurb only gives you a speck of what there is to come. I have read a few suspense books in the past, but only a very few authors such as Amanda have me anticipating their next book. Loved it!
