In #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel van Dyken’s scorching series, revenge is a justified pleasure… If only he didn’t make her so hot—and bothered.
Jessie wants payback for a ruined reputation. His plan? Top secret. His hard-to-hide arousal for Isla? Not so much. Especially when they let down their guards and sneak a kiss. Like any juicy scandal, it goes so viral, so fast, that only a good lie can combat the bad press. Mortal enemies in a fling? No way. Um…this is love!
Actually…could it be?
Isla’s not faking it. Jessie can’t. As the game of let’s pretend gets real, Jessie forgets all about revenge. That’s the problem. His plan is already out of his control. Now it could undo everything they’ve been trying to build. Coming clean may be the only thing that can save it.

This enemies-to-lovers romance is a delight. A fake engagement and a revenge plot spice this up to something fun and steamy you won’t put down til you’re done.
I love a fake engagement! And it’s even better when it’s one of RVD’s rom-coms!

I thoroughly enjoyed Dangerous Exes. If you have read the first book, Dirty Exes, then you have already met our protaganists Jessie and Isla (and let me say I love that the name Isla is used!)
I loved this book from the first word to the last. I am a sucker for a frenemies-to-lovers story, and Jessie and Isla’s was a great one.
I love the snark and the banter between them, all the while they are ignoring their lust and more for each other.
Oh boy do this pair get themselves into one kind of trouble after another! Just when you think things are going to go right for them – boom, another dilemma falls at their feet. And you know that things are going to go bad for them at some stage as events are revealed. However I liked that they didn’t act like 12 year old
I couldn’t help but cheer for them as they are falling. You just know that their relationship is never going to be boring, and that sparks are always going to be flying.
I loved getting more of Colin and Blaire (from Dirty Exes) and adore where their relationship is now at.
I can’t wait to see what Ms Van Dyken brings us next.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title compliments of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**
I so enjoyed Dirty Exes, so I was very excited to see what was going to happen in the second book in the Liars, Inc. series, Dangerous Exes. Not that it comes as any surprise to me, but Rachel Van Dyken did not disappoint with this installment! The one thing I will say, is if you haven’t read Dirty Exes, you’re going to want to before diving into this one.
Isla’s mission in life is to expose men who are lying, cheating jerks. While that has worked for her for quite some time, one mistake leads to her having one very angry ex-NFL quarterback gunning for her and wanting to stop at nothing to destroy her business.
Jessie’s reputation has taken a hit based on everything that went down with his ex and the part that Isla played in all of that. There is nothing more that Jessie wants than to make Isla pay just like he has. But best laid plans don’t always turn out as you expect.
When things get complicated and it becomes clear that Isla and Jessie need to work together to save her company and his reputation. This is when things really get interesting – when they have to pretend to be a couple. As you can imagine much hilarity ensues and it is their quirks that make them more perfect for one another than anyone could have ever guessed! But in the end will they make a real go of it or will they be their stubborn selves and get in their own way?
This was a really great read that made me laugh out loud several times. I LOVED Isla’s Goo-pah! She was an absolute trip and she was worth the price of admission with all her food, the bed and the chickens!
Kudos to RVD for another awesome book to add to her already amazing stable!
Dangerous Exes is an enemies to lovers story. Jessie feels he has been burned by Isla and Isla feels like she is being blamed for something that wasn’t her fault.
These two start out breathing fire down each others necks but that doesn’t hold up to the attraction they had been building before everything fell apart.
I’m not sure this can be a standalone. This book started right back up where book 1 left off. We have the same characters, just a shift in main characters.
We do get the added bonus of a new side character and very funny Goo-Poh, Isla’s aunt. She had me laughing just as much as our main couple.
This was a fun series and I recommend both books is you want a laugh!
“I would justify every damn thing in the world for another taste of you.”
God. Yes. This is the follow-up to Dirty Exes. If you haven’t read Dirty Exes and you don’t want to know who this book is about, I suggest you turn away. Turn away now.
But if you also know that RVD is going to give you a story you’ll love and you don’t care who this book is about because you just want all the words ever, then continue.
We left Dirty Exes with a disgruntled Jessie. His world has fallen apart all because of his ex. Or did it fall apart because of Isla?
Who knows.
What Jessie does know is that he is going to take Isla down so she can feel the way he feels.
And that’s how you get this friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story that will have your heart beating fast and your eyes devouring words at a top rate speed.
Isla and Jessie are filled with tension. Sexual tension, to be specific. Yeah, sure, they’re also a bit high strung and they like things to go according to plan, but the sexual tension between these two is palpable. I could feel it on my skin. I could smell it in the air around me. I wanted these two together more than I wanted my next breath.
And it’s so freaking good. So. Good.
“I don’t want to hold your heart…I don’t even want to own it. I just want you to share it with me.”
