When my two absolute favorite MM authors come out with a new series…I’m literally sitting on the edge of my seat with anticipation!!!
Danger Zone was fantastic! Solo and Panther heat up the pages! So much chemistry and banter…
Hot fighter pilots meets opposites attract in this amazing read!
No spoilers here but I will say I cannot wait for book 2 and more of these hotties! Holy cliffhangers…I was like, WHAT?!? I need more ASAP and am hoping the authors are writing super fast!!!
I am completely angry at the authors…in the best of ways. I love when what starts (in my head) to be just a take off of Top Gun, but it is WAY more than that. It was steamy as heck…as only these two can do but it was just MORE. I loved it, despite the cliffy and despite the fact that I had Maverick and Goose in my head during all these scenes lol…weird I know. Bring on more please!
OMG…. The End… My heart is in my throat, need book 2 now please(wink). Darn Cliffhangers! 25 days to go… I loved Panther & Solo( the cocky bugger), their chemistry is of the charts & so hot! A Fantastic start to a new series, loved it except the end. I highly recommend this book if you like cliffy’s.
Danger Zone is the first book in the Elite Trilogy by by Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank. I enjoyed the storyline. I liked the fighter pilot aspect to the story as its not something I’ve read about. I liked that it was an insta-lust enemies to lovers romance. I loved the characters. Both Solo and Panther were at the top of their game, both were strong and passionate and alpha in their own way yet both were total opposites in terms of personality. I loved the back and forth banter between them from the start and it just kept going as the story progressed. These two had such intense chemistry, and the tension between them was so thick. Their steamy scenes were scorching hott but I enjoyed the build up to get there.
There was a cast of secondary characters who complement these two and I loved them all. The story ends in a cliff-hanger and omg…I need more. I can’t wait for book 2. Danger Zone kept me hooked from start to finish as I was consumed with these characters. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of MM romance.
Danger Zone is everything you hope for and expect when you hear Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine released a new book. The characters are hot as hell and the storyline like always is beyond superb. Danger Zone is the start of a 3-part series of new couple Mateo “Solo” and Grant “Panther”, 2 fighter jet pilots that bring the danger both in and out of the air. The story has off the chain chemistry, the banter between these 2 is awesome and then throw in the supporting cast and what you end up with a story that you just can’t get enough of. You will laugh throughout this entire book as where Panther is strait-laced and by the book Solo feels that rules are there as suggestions and he tends to follow then as he chooses. Solo’s wit is beyond measure and when Panther starts to let him in you really get to see a different side of them both.
Danger Zone is as expected, fast paced, a thrilling read and more laughs than you can imagine. From Solo’s first stunt to Panther finally giving in to then that ending… totally leaves you as the reader on baited breathe waiting for book 2. As always great job by both Brooke and Ella and yet another series leaving us dying for more. This is a must read and a total 5 star read for me. Come on book 2 I’m waiting….
Bloody Freaking Hell! Panther and Solo took my breath away!
Are you even kidding me right now? How could you get me all worked up, make my heart beat out of my chest and then leave me hanging like THAT?
That’s just downright MEAN….in such a MIND BLOWING WAY! Damn ladies, you know how to make a girl’s heart pound. Is it March 27th yet?
So much is running through my head right now. Is what happened to Panther just a weird fluke or is something much more dangerous and deadly afoot? I can’t wait to find out.
Now let’s get this part out of the way…SOLO AND PANTHER ARE HOT AF. The tension between these guys could melt the wings right off their planes. That first kiss…holy moly…I’m still sweating.
That being said, Solo annoyed me to no end at first. He was so pushy and arrogant and I couldn’t wait for Panther to put him in his place. I loved when Panther finally got the best of him. Solo did grow on me and I ended up loving him just as much as Panther.
I’ve got to say…I love this concept and I loved this book. I can’t wait to see what you ladies have up your sleeves for these boys next.
I was super excited when I found out Brooke and Ella were collaborating on this book because Top Gun is one of my favorite movies and this book definitely had the whole Top Gun feel to it. Danger Zone was a very entertaining start to The Elite series. I loved the whole competition aspect to it and getting to know Solo, Panther, and the other competitors. It was a very easy read that will leave you not wanting to wait for book 2!
Panther and Solo are both strong characters, determine to do whatever it takes to win. These two men are complete opposites of one another, other than their drive to be the best that they can be. Solo is unapologetic about who he is and says and does whatever he wants. Whereas Panther is more reserved and uptight, which is understandable given his background and the way he was raised. The sexual tension between these two was off the charts and I was just waiting for the moment when it was combust and boy, was it amazing!
And that ending will have you on the edge of your seat and screaming! How am I supposed to wait till the end of March to get my hands on book 2?! I am looking forward to see where the story will go from here and what these two amazing women will have in store for us next!
When I read the blurb on this one I knew I had to get it pronto! The first thing you should know is this is the first book of a trilogy and there is a CLIFFY. I hate it when I don’t know that they’re coming, so there you go. Luckily, these books are only one month apart so the wait time is manageable, at least for me. Plan accordingly.
Hello hot fighter pilots! Hello sexual tension! Hello angst!
This has a very “Top Gun” feel to it, as it takes place at the Naval Aviation Fighter Academy where both of our heroes (this is an M/M book) have been accepted. We have Matteo Morgan aka Solo, who is a cocky, rule-breaking, very openly gay man. I honestly didn’t like him very much for most of the book–he seemed to live up to his call sign (Solo) with his extremely selfish behavior and I felt like he didn’t really care about anyone but himself. I do get the feeling that there is more to him than meets the eye, though. We’ll see. Then, we have Grant Hughes aka Panther, a straight-laced, mostly closeted gay man who has been groomed to be #1 by his Naval Commander father. He’s determined to let nothing stand in his way of winning–no distractions–not even the handsome Solo, who is doing EVERYTHING he can to get Panther into his bed. As I said before, the sexual tension in this one is off the charts. So much in fact that there didn’t seem to be a whole lot going on besides the push and pull between these two characters and I would have liked a little more. Having said that, I really did enjoy it quite a lot and I feel like the true substance of the story will come through in the second book. I can’t wait to see where the authors take this.
“Just so you know, I have a feeling you’re going to be my favorite mistake ever.”
I love diving into a Brooke & Ella book. These two are among my favorite authors ever. They’ve written some of my favorite books, they’ve introduced me to a genre I don’t think I would have tried otherwise, and they are just all around great people.
I do like a good novella series, and this is that to me, especially when it follows one couple. I don’t read a lot of military books. It’s not something I avoid, but it’s also not something I seek out. I think by themselves I would have liked each of these guys. I’m just not convinced yet that they are good together. It may be the insta-love aspect of the story, I don’t typically ever like them. It would take A LOT of chemistry to get me behind a insta-love couple. I’m still interested in seeing where this series goes. It has not lost me yet, but I’m on the fence after book 1. I don’t like to be with these two authors, but it is what it is.
If you like military, and don’t mind reading M/M books, then grab this and give it a go.
This was the first book in a high octane trilogy that you better buckle up for!! This is the first book I’ve read by either of these authors and I definitely will be reading more. The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. Grant and Mateo meet at a bar and the sexual tension is off the charts. Grant doesn’t go there at the time and good thing because he meets Mateo again and they have this love-hate relationship. When they meet again it is as Panther (Grant) and Solo (Mateo) as is their call signs in the elite Naval Academy. Solo is a cocky, breaks all of the rules bad boy in flight school. Panther is by the book 2nd generation naval officer that is a stickler for the rules. Their chemistry is still off the charts but Panther is fighting it hard. Will he ultimately give in and make all of Solo’s fantasies come true? This book ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the second one in the series!!
Listen…I have no words to express how much I LOVED this book. A new series and new men? yes please !!
Solo and Panther are both hot as hell and so damn alpha which I love. They kept a smile on my face the whole time while I was reading. I can tell you now, Solo is my favorite lol. I love how he is and his mouth has no filter at all. Panther is more reserved, but is he really ?
These two take us on an up and down rollercoaster. Can Panther deny what he’s feeling and let his guard down? Can Solo finally get to him? All I know is their chemistry is off the chain!! I need book 2 now because after this ending, I am all in patiently waiting to see how this unfolds.
Kudos to Brooke and Ella for bringing us another amazing series, with even hotter men <3
As soon as Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine’s new MM series was announced, I couldn’t wait to meet their hardcore, driven, and a bit egoistical male leads, and I was eager to see what would happen when these fighter pilots went head-to-head with one another and had to put their personal relationships aside in order to prove themselves to their superiors and place themselves ahead of every other pilot fighting for top honors.
The setting, in some ways, serves as a character in its own right because the atmosphere is a breeding ground for competition, for characters’ puffing out their chests and showing each other just how hard they’ll work and just what they’re willing to sacrifice to claim the top spots and to be seen as the best of the best.
Matteo ‘Solo’ Morgan and Grant ‘Panther’ Hughes are two exceptionally skilled and driven pilots, but their personalities couldn’t be more different, which means anything developing between these two will have to withstand a significant number of variables, including the fact that they’re competing for a position that they’ve wanted their entire lives.
I have to admit…Matteo was a lot to take in, in the beginning. He seems to always be ‘on’ and always pushing other people’s buttons. He’s an adrenaline junkie – one who doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything, and while that drive can be absolutely crucial when the stakes are high, his kind of personality can also be dangerous to not only himself but to those around him.
Grant is all about staying on the straight and narrow, driven to be the best and not let anything or anyone stand in his way. He so was not expecting Matteo Morgan or the instant attraction he would feel as well as the need to let himself go and give into the sexual tension that surrounds them.
Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine definitely know how to write cocky, over-the-top alpha males – those who have a competitive edge as well as a bit of a reckless personality, taking more risks perhaps than necessary, but doing so because being number one is of upmost importance. And the fact that these two authors created a setting like the Elite and have skilled fighter pilots competing for the coveted spots at the top at the prestigious naval aviation academy is fitting for both the main and secondary characters who they’ve created for this new series.
There’s a lot for Matteo and Grant to contend with as their story moves forward and given the ending of book one, readers will be desperate for Need For Speed, hoping that what these two seem to be building together is strong enough to withstand their individual goals and not allow their egos to make decisions that could spell disaster for anything more developing between them.
4.5 Poison Apples
*4,5-5 stars*
You know what this book reminds me off…one of my alltime favorite movies… Top Gun!
I really enjoyed this story but sometimes Solo went over the top for me, maybe that was the intention but at times I didn’t like how he came on too strong, even though there were things throughout the story that made you realise why he is the way he is. I really adored Panther 🙂
Overall a great story and a good beginning to a new series by this author duo! And I’m dying for book two after that ending!
Panther has been the star of his family for a while but as his father is one of the high peers of his time, it’s hard to not fall under everyone’s scrutiny to be the best he can be. When he’s chosen to go off for a few weeks to train with The Elite, it’s no wonder there are so many high expectations… When he and Solo first meet, there’s a huge attraction between them but when it turns out they’ll be working together closely, suddenly there’s so much more at stake. But Solo is on a mission and wants nothing more than to get rid off the barriers between him and Panther but will the risk be too high for them to take it a step further?…
Hi My Name is CherryRed’s Reads and I went to the Danger Zone & I loved it!
I love my some fly boys and this new series by Author Brooke Blaine & Author Ella Frank soar my hearts content to the open blue skies!
Yozzers it is one hot & heavy read full of tons of cocky, alpha male egos to give you plenty of delightful whiplash while reading.
I want to be with all the men in this book. They each have a special quality I love.
But Panther & Solo blew my mind. They both are soo intense and just had me on the edge of my seat on what would happen between them.
No spoiler but believe me this book will have you soaring to new heights and in love with competing to win in life and in love!
5 popped!
Y’all this book is freaking amazing! The Elite Series has definitely started with a bang! Blaine and Frank have left me needing more!
Grant “Panther” Hughes and Mateo “Solo” Morgan are two hot men! The sexual tension between these two jumps off the page right from page one. There is no denying the attraction between these two.
This is my first book by both Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank, both individually or co-written, but I am completely hooked! From start to finish I could not put Danger Zone down. There is just something about these two men that I couldn’t get enough of. They both just have this thing about them that make you want more. They’re Navy pilots, hot as sin, charming, cocky, alpha. And I mean let’s be honest two alpha males are always better than one. Grant and Mateo had me reading these pages like the book would disappear if I stopped.
And let’s talk about that cliffhanger! I’m still worried that I didn’t receive the entire book. I’m sure part was it was missing. I need, Need For Speed now! Blaine and Frank definitely have me addicted and screaming for more!
5 Stars
Holy Hotness! I was so excited to start this new trilogy from Brooke and Ella and they certainly did not disappoint. Even going into this first book knowing how these two love their cliffies, I still wasn’t prepared for this ending. Being an 80’s girl, this book really brought Top Gun to the forefront, and I loved everything about it. Grant/Panther is in California for a ten week training course at the most elite flying program in the Navy. He is straight laced and a rule follower, just not totally out of the closet yet. Grant goes to a bar on the outside of town to meet up with a blind date and sees the most gorgeous, albeit cocky, man he’s ever laid eyes on. Imagine his surprise when the next day at the academy, that same gorgeous, cocky man strolls into the locker room. Mateo/Solo is a fun loving, fly by the seat of his pants, rules schmules kind of man and always goes after what he wants. And what he wants is Grant and he makes it clear and known that he does.
I loved everything about this story. The push and pull between Grant and Mateo is fantastic, but the chemistry? OFF. THE.CHARTS! These two are just smoking hot together. The tension between them is nothing short of foreplay and when they finally come together… PURE ECSTASY! I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

Danger Zone is a great start to a really good series. While reading Danger Zone I felt as though I had been taken back to the days of Top Gun and all of his fast action pacing, and just pure enjoyment. That is exactly what Danger Zone is. It is an absolute fantastic, joyful, and fun read. Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine out did themselves when they created the characters of Mateo “Solo” Morgan and Grant “Panther” Hughes. The witty banter, competition, and chemistry between Solo and Panther will keep you engrossed and laughing all throughout the book. I cannot express enough how action packed and just down right fun reading Danger Zone is.
Danger Zone focuses on Solo and Panther, who are both recruits at the elite Naval Aviation Fighter Training Academy. Panther is Naval Royalty, and well, Solo is Solo, and he is unapologetically so. Solo is a risk taker and gives it his all when he wants something, as well as a complete Jokester; whereas Panther follows the rules when he goes for what he wants. Both men are in competition to be the best of the best. However, both men appear to be hiding from themselves despite all of the bravado. Yet, walls do begin to come down once these two come into each other’s orbit. Although I will say, in my opinion, that at times Solo was made to appear a bit too desperate in seeking out Panther’s attention.
Danger Zone is a fast-paced, thrilling read that introduces you to a new world filled with fantastic characters…the two leads are not the only interesting and exciting characters in this one. However, that ending…??!!! I am in desperate need of Need for Speed, Book 2 of the The Elite Series, ASAP!! Yet another start to another great collaboration between Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine. I never get enough of these two ladies’ co-authored books.
I have been waiting anxiously for this book because helllooooo hot naval aviators! Danger Zone by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine was a sexy, slow burn, hi octane thrill ride that will leave you humming Kenny Loggins, Highway to the Danger Zone and wanting more, more more of Solo and Panther. This one ends in a cliffy, and I will be waiting to see what the future holds for these two!
Danger Zone by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine almost melted my kindle with the nuclear hot chemistry and powerful feelings. This was not only a sexy as sin MM romance, it was a feast of passion and adrenaline rush!
First of all, I loved loved loved how the authors used a special airforce training facility as the location. It was exciting and exhilarating! Mateo aka Solo and Grant aka Panther along with few other Airforce officers have been selected for a highly sought after and difficult ten weeks course in the academy. Only the best of the best were chosen and the competition will be cutthroat. To add fuel to the fire, Solo and Panther are attracted to each other. But while Solo is reckless and carefree, Panther has never toed outside the line. Son of the best Airforce fighter of country, he is bound by expectations and guidelines. And Solo is not a mistake he can afford.
I am so in love and lust with both the guys. First, they were super hot and I don’t care if they are batting for opposing teams or not. Second, they are from opposite sides of spectrum. Solo is a rulebreaker ,arrogant ,cocky and roguish. Whereas Panther comes across as the standup guy but he hides a beast inside. Third, the scorching hot chemistry. There was a lot of sweating and swooning and cursing involved. Solo pursued Panther relentlessly and it has the perfect enemies to lovers vibe. And they are both hellbent on winning the competition and do not give each other an inch in sky. That buzz converts into deadliest foreplays and holy hell, it was everything. But that ending broke my heart! I cannot wait to read the next story!
Danger Zone by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine was a sexy, sassy and daredevil kind of MM romance. I want more and the wait may kill me!
Received ARC for honest review
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I’ve been for The Elite books! Danger Zone went to the top of my most anticipated reads list when it was announced and oh how I couldn’t get enough of this story or it’s characters! Holy cow! I absolutely loved it!
This first book in “Panther” Grant and “Solo” Mateo’s journey has ruined me in the best of ways. From the heart racing moments in the sky, to the heat that had me blushing all kinds of red, these two were EVERYTHING!
Ms.Blaine and Ms.Frank have done it once again! I can’t stop thinking about Danger Zone! This is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2020! Talk about an epic book hangover. I’ll be counting down the days until Need For Speed gets here!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the authors*
