Oh the tension in this was SO juicy. Even though Panther and Solo are both starting their NAFTA training, this at least to me, is something of an opposites attract story and it was far too short and what an ending and I’m already obsessed not only with Grant and Matteo, but the rest of the side characters too. I’m so glad I picked this up on a whim.
Top Gun in book form only in this version two of the pilots are hot for each other. Ending in a cliff hanger, I’m glad the next book is available now.
One by the book and the other a little reckless and an attention seeker. They couldn’t live more opposite lives. But the attraction vibrated between them and the banter kept you wondering who would get the last word. They both are undeniably competitive and trying to win but they still in the end cannot resist each other.
This slow burn kept me waiting for when Grant would finally let his guard down and just let the chemistry between him and Matteo explode. And I was not disappointed when it finally happened. But what I wasn’t ready for was the cliffhanger that made me so glad I waited until all the books were out to read them.
Grant “Panther” Hughes walks into a bar to meet up with a “date” to blow off some steam before he embarks on a 10 week naval pilot training course for the elite of the elite. When he walks into the bar he notices that his “date” is late but a very attractive man is there who just won’t take a hint and walk away. When things don’t go as planned with his date he walks out of the bar unsatisfied and annoyed with the handsome stranger for ruining his night. But fate has a way of messing with everyone, when he walks into training who does he see but his handsome and annoying stranger, Matteo “Solo” Morgan.
Holy tension. This book was off the charts. I am not going to lie I had a few stabby moments because Solo was too freaking oblivious or dumb to recognize that Panther wasn’t ready to come out of the closet. But the first part of this trilogy was freaking funny. Panther and Solo’s banter had me laughing almost non-stop. I enjoyed the contrast of Panther’s straight laced follow all the rules to Solo’s eff it let’s do this attitude. The chemistry between these two was fire. Aside from my stabby moments I loved this book but holy cliff hanger- I am so glad I waited for the trilogy to be complete before jumping in. On to Need for Speed stat.
5+
I’ve been waiting for months for this complete trilogy to be released and I was so excited when the final book published this week. The writing duo of Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine is my absolute favorite. I don’t think I’ve ever given less than five stars for something they’ve written.
Top Gun is one of my top favorite movies and The Elite Trilogy is loosely based on that. I loved every aspect of this first book and I can’t wait to dive into the next one especially after the way this one ended. Every couple that these lovely ladies create always end up being one I hold in my heart and never forget. Panther and Solo certainly fit the bill.
Panther is the somewhat straight-laced Navy pilot with a famous Navy pilot for a father that won the first trophy at NAFTA (Naval Aviation Fighter Academy). Solo is a fly by the seat of his pants pilot that doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything or know how to keep his mouth shut. I loved the constant push and pull between them.
If you love great characters, blistering heat, a great storyline and incredible action both in the sky and on the ground, you need this story in your life.
Book 1 of the Elite Series was incredible. The sexual chemistry between Solo and Panther was off the charts and the story sucked me in from the very first page.
I was so excited when I saw that Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank had a new release… I love their writing, both separately and together! And as suspected, Danger Zone lived up to every single one of my expectations.
I just met Solo and Panther, and already I am in love! It was so wonderful to see them meet each other and then later *gasp* realize who they really are! The attraction and chemistry between them just leap off the pages.
And that ending. OMG that ending! I need Book 2 right away!
Perfect combination of sensual foreplay with two very different men that involve themselves in a hate/love relationship. Both men are bold and brass in the jobs at jet fighter pilots, but when the warmth of understanding and true affection come to pass, their futures are caught in the crossfire. The ending made me run to the next book very quickly.
This book is like Top Gun on steroids with all the steamy parts you could possibly hope for! Panther and Solo are two Lieutenants who have a chance meeting and wind up in the same flight school. Interesting story of one man loud and proud while the other stays to himself. I read this book in a day and loved it! Crazy huge cliffhanger at the end. Book 2 can’t get here fast enough!
It’s no surprise that Ella and Brooke once again bring a vivid and luscious world to life – including hotter men than you can imagine! The sizzle factor is off the charts and the story is very well paced and drags you right into each chapter – making you gasp and swoon. Warning though – the ending is a cliffhanger and will leave you crying out for the next book (due for release at the end of March).
Solo (aka Mateo Morgan) and Panther (aka Grant Hughes) inadvertently meet at a bar one night, but Panther doesn’t hook up with other military members. When they see each other again at a prestigious flight academy, Panther is even happier he passed on Solo’s invitation. Being competitors is bad enough, but Solo is reckless, and Panther won’t have anything to do with that.
I enjoyed reading this one. Grant plays by the rules and is one of the best. It becomes clear soon enough why he is so rule-driven once they arrive for the first day of class. I felt for Grant; it’s almost impossible to live up to others’ expectations of us all the time. I really hope we see him find a balance in his life over the course of the books. Solo is reckless, but also a very good pilot. It’s clear that one of these two may be the winner of the competition in the end, but that assumes Solo can keep himself from being kicked out or worse. The banter was fun when Grant allowed himself to engage Solo, but I’m surprised someone hasn’t belted Solo before this for running his mouth so much. Solo is a blast if he’s not constantly in your face, and the moment of vulnerability he shows Grant was insightful. I hope we get a better idea of what’s going on in Solo’s head moving forward. The heat between these two is smoking and one can hope that they learn from each other as well.
This book does have a cliffhanger, so if you’re not big into them, you might want to wait until later this month when the next book releases. Otherwise, if you’re a fan of the authors or even a Top Gun movie fan, this one will probably appeal to you.

I know for sure that I would be reading all the series. Just took me a few chapters to be completely immersed into Matteo and Grant’s world. Trained to be in the Elite, to serve their country, no distractions needed.
But when the perfectionist and focused Grant met the bad boy with his cocky grin and reckless Matteo, there was more than just sparks, they just ignited the fire.
I appreciated reading about these two men who strike confidence but somehow so different in their lifestyles. Matteo couldn’t help to rile him up, using innuendos like no one else. Knowing perfectly how to push his buttons. He seemed like a man who didn’t care and was taking risks all the time.
Grant was focused on his training, secretive about his life, especially feeling some pressure due to his father’s career”. Being the “son of” came with too much expectation and also bringing curiosity, feeling scrutinized every time.
I couldn’t put it down, the competition between these two plus the banter totally melt my heart.
I appreciated reading about two different personalities and seeing both perspectives about being in a masculine field, when sexual orientation was still a strong issue or taboo subject.
The authors managed to describe perfectly their struggles and insecurities. Especially Grant with his private life, his family, trying to separate everything. Matteo and Grant collided so beautifully, showing how strong their connection was but somehow with the possibility to destroy everything.
It was a love at war that totally captivated me. I fell in love with these two and I can’t wait to read the rest of their journey. Next book, please!
Ahh!! What a cliffhanger!!
Whew! I’m literally on the edge of my seat, waiting to read what happens next… and THERE IS NO NEXT PAGE!! The book just ended and I’m desperate to know what happened!!!
Grant and Mateo… they are certainly one sizzling duo! Both have family issues that seem to dominate their everyday lives, but they’re reluctantly drawn to each other in a deeper connection that neither is prepared for. Nonetheless, they are honest about that connection and I love it! I can’t wait for book 2!
I was so excited when I started reading the postings for this one, and I couldn’t wait to read it. That being said, I did get through it rather quickly, but I didn’t quite connect to Grant (Panther) and Mateo (Solo) as I was hoping to. Something was missing for me. I actually found Solo a bit annoying at times. While I usually devour any books by these two authors, this one was a one-off for me. I’m still undecided as to whether or not I’ll keep reading this series or not, but with that cliffhanger, which I love cliffhangers, by the way, might just be what I need to keep going. It did leave me wanting just a little bit more, and I hope book two will have what’s missing for me in this one. I do still recommend giving this one a try.
Danger Zone was a good introduction to a brand new series. It was funny, it had it’s steamy moments and had a great set of side characters. Though I will say I wasn’t as emotionally invested as I would have liked. I’m thinking maybe it’s because it was the first book. I felt like something was missing, I just can’t put my finger on it. I’m hoping that all changes with the next two books in the series.
I’ve been looking forward to this series since Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine told us it was coming. These two authors are magic together and Danger Zone doesn’t disappoint. What it does do is make you scream at your kindle because the tension between Panter and Solo is so hot and thick you could cut it with a knife and then spontaneously combust.
I love the idea of these two competing for the top spot in one of the most elite programs in the world. They have so much going against them, from homophobic family members, to grilling training, to their own reluctance, that it’s a miracle they don’t explode sooner. When Panter and Solo come together not as rivals, but as men it is hot hot hot. Ella and Brooke have always written scorching scenes but the ones in this book take the cake.
I need the next book, I can’t tell you what happens because of spoilers, but a month between books is way too long in my opinion lol. I was yelling at my kindle, curing the authors when I finished. I needed book two and I didn’t have it and omg I was just a mess lol.
If you’re looking for a new series with hot men, sexy times that will burn up your kindle and a storyline that will leave you breathless you’re in the right place.
Sizzling hot and addicting, Danger Zone kicked off The Elite series with a bang. This MM opposite-attracts romance was set at the Naval Aviation Fighter Academy, staring two deliciously strong, dominant and competitive fighter pilot, Grant and Matteo. Their story was filled with sexual tension, and excitement. I was completely immersed into their world but this installment ended too soon with the most panicking cliff-hanger.
The couple couldn’t be more opposite; where Grant was the rules follower, Matteo was the rules breaker. Their chemistry were off the charts and sparks were flying off at every touch, every flirty banter and/or every hidden look. Even though Grant was attracted to Matteo, he had his reasons to resist. Sexual tension continued to grow as Matteo pushed persistently. One could only imagine the explosiveness when the tension blew.
Besides the romance, there were lots of actions and happenings in this elite fighter pilot academy. All of the trainee were there to win the competition at the end. As we got to know their background, we also saw their weaknesses and triggers. Reviewers kept saying this book gave off some Top Gun vibes. Regrettably, I was too young when I watched Top Gun, the classic fighter pilot movie, and I couldn’t remember much. I found it hard to fathom and visualize the excitement and workings of the flying scenes. I might need to watch the movie again to gain a better understanding before the next book, Need For Speed, comes out.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This was an incredible start to this trilogy. It’s like a modern day Top Gun!
Solo and Panther are HOT HOT HOT. I could feel the adrenaline from them and the story.
And that cliffhanger…. My god, what am I going to do now? I am so excited to see what happens next.
O-M-Gaahh!!! A new gay couple by the fabulous duo of Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine. Yes, yes, YES!! Though … that cliffhanger was a big no, no, NO! Book two will be here in less than a month, and yet a month has never felt so long …
Perfect banter, scorching attraction and all the feels. Two hot as hell fighter pilots in insta-lust for one another. An enemies to lovers vibe. All the yesses!! One MC craving control and the other one constantly pushing limits. It’s glorious.
Grant and Mateo have all the assets to become one of my favorite couples ever. Inflammable chemistry, constant teasing and taunting, that push and pull and whatnot else … It’s sexy. It’s beautiful. It’s awesome!!
Get to know these two while they get to know themselves! I seriously cannot wait for more!
I can’t with these hotness. Ella and Brooke are phenomenal together and everything they writes are ahh-mazing! These book are some other level of hotness.
The romance and the erotica are well written, not too much, just the perfect amount for the story.
The characters are awesome, and I mean all the characters not just the two MC (Solo and Panther). I love all the guys in the Elite, everyone funny and kind. But Solo and Panther are on other level – so HOT when they got together, and the tension between them was off the chart!
Loved the background stories and I just can’t wait to find out more about Panther and see him to come out of his shell and be the real himself, out and proud. And can’t wait to know more about Solo, I bet there are some exciting things about him.
I just loved reading this book, only had one probleme with it – it ended so soon! It’s a really quick read, you just can’t put it down, just read and read. Then the next thing you know the story is over. And with what cliffhanger jesus!
LOVED this book so much! I was a bit afraid to read this because I didn’t see the movie Top Gun, and I never read a book like this before, but let me say one thing for sure, this series is now one of my favorite! And I really can’t wait for the other books in the series to come out and read more about Solo and Panther!
Highly recommend this book! If you love Ella and Brooke’s books then it’s a must, well if you new to them, then definitely MUST!
