Perfect continuation to the Alex Mercer series, I always look forward to the next installment as you never know what to expect with all the twists and turns
Alex Mercer runs a successful blog designed to help find missing children and bring them home. Now he has to decide whether to keep up with the important work he’s doing through his blog or take it down to keep his family safe. There is a cyber-stalker threatening him, one who will go to any lengths to accomplish his goal. His wife and oldest daughter will soon find out just how far he’ll go to get Alex to take down his blog. There’s sinister work at hand, will Officer Alex Mercer be able to protect his family from Stalker420?
Simultaneously Alex’s best friend, police Captain Nick Fleshman, is taking the next step with his combined family. Together with his fiancee and their four kids work begins on their recently purchased dream home. The only downside is that they have to dig through and clean out the belongings of the deceased ninety-year-old who used to live there. Before long Nick and his family discover more than just an old man’s belongings…
Danger Zone was my introduction to the world of Alex Mercer. With that being said, I’d like to note that this is the 8th installment of this thriller series. I requested a copy due to the story’s synopsis and the author. I’ve heard many good things about Stacy Claflin and have been wanting to check out her work for some time now. I was a little worried about starting this far into the series figuring I would be at a disadvantage character and history-wise. Luckily I was able to dive right in and did not want to stop. Danger Zone is a fast-paced, relatively short thriller with just over 200 pages. The writing was easy to follow and I quickly found myself sucked into each character’s storyline. The few references to events from previous books just made me want to catch up all the more and luckily did not hinder my ability to follow along with Danger Zone’s story. I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast-paced, easy to read thriller especially those already familiar with the Alex Mercer thriller series. I’m rating this a 5 out of 5 stars!
Thank you to the Story Origin App and the author, Stacy Claflin. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. I look forward to reading more about Alex Mercer!
Highly recommend! I’ve been fortunate to have read all of the Alex Mercer books to date and this latest one is just as suspenseful/surprising as the others, with highs and lows for all. A common thread is that of abduction and how this family, their friends, and communities deal with it. Alex is particularly poised to cope and professionally contribute given his law enforcement background and training. However, these situations are personal, unexpected, and perplexing. Alex and his immediate family members become drawn into a variety of webs this time, involving the past and the present. Secrets are dangerous things, especially when others seek to hurt or control through them. No spoilers here, just be prepared to read straight through! Please note that I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. Enjoy!
Danger Zone is the 8th book in the Alex Mercer Thriller series by Stacy Claflin.
Alex has a stalker that wants him to shut down his blog and is willing to go to great lengths to get the message across.
Nick and Genevieve have their new home and make an unexpected discovery while cleaning out the belongings of the previous owner.
This series keeps getting better and better with each book.

Suspense, blackmail, deceit, secrets and so much more! These great family characters who care about 1 another, will fight for 1 another, and with each other, love one another. And yes they have their share of family drama, real life issues, teenager with a crush, hiding things from parents, parents trying to get by day by day, hour by hour. And that doesn’t just include Alex and his family, Captain (Nick) Fleshman and his family find more hidden secrets and issues in their soon to be new home that will have some more than others with more questions.
ARI is acting weird and Alex doesn’t know what to do. Nick and Genieve just bought an old house and are sorting through all the old stuff when they find a mummy. Alex I getting more threats from his stalker….can things get more messy? A page turner mystery. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a free advance reader review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review. I have read every book in the Alex Mercer series and this one didnt disappoint me either. I loved it. Such a different storyline that it made it interesting to read. Some will say it’s filled with things that can never happen in real life but isn’t that why we read? I really enjoyed it and I recommend it!
I love this series! Ms. Claflin has a writing style that really lends itself to these fast paced thrillers. She hooks you into the story from the beginning with the threat of danger & keeps you involved until the end. There are little things that indicate what’s going on but it’s difficult to put them all together since they come from different directions. There is a secondary mystery that has Alex’s boss/friend preoccupied. These characters are excellently portrayed & have taken on lives of their own. I really can’t wait to see what they get embroiled in next!
Mercer and Fleshman up to their necks in it, again!
I love the Alex Mercer series and this story, like the earlier ones, is a fast-paced pageturner, with friends Alex Mercer and his boss Nick Fleshman embroiled in murder mystery, endangered family members and lots of family drama. When I pick up a Stacy Claflin thriller I can’t put it down!
Nick is looking forward to a happy future with his fiancee and blended family but is shocked when his daughter makes a macabre discovery in their new home; he will not rest until he solves the mystery behind it. Poor Alex deals with an ever more threatening mystery stalker while his teenage daughter grows unsettlingly distant and secretive. I love Claflin’s writing style, which keeps both plotlines on the boil simultaneously with ever escalating tension.
These are two families with real life problems but, admittedly, to the nth degree. I can’t get enough of this series
I read a complimentary review copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
