If you enjoy a story with non-stop action, this one will not disappoint, and we won’t know until the last page is turned who survived.
There is also the unknown in that we don’t know who to trust, and even then, I found myself changing my opinion, yes, the author really keeps us guessing.
Where one brother seems to care of people and is there for his fellow man, the other is the personification of evil.
You don’t want to miss this one, it sure will keep you guessing!
I received this book through Celebrate Lit, and was not required to give a positive review.
Dana Mentink has totally outdone herself with this story! The premise is unlike any I’ve read before. I was wondering how she was going to pull it off, but she did. I loved it! In fact, this is my favorite story of hers to date and that is saying something!
Dana always starts her stories with a bang and this one was no different! I was sucked in from the first page and I didn’t want to stop reading. Mitch and Jane were both awesome characters! And boy, did they have a lot to overcome in this story! I mean Mitch’s brother is a serial killer and he was married to Jane! And, Wade, the serial killer, has escaped from jail and is out for blood! And, did I mention there’s a toddler involved? What could go wrong?
I highly recommend this story and I am so excited to hear that there is going to be four stories in this series! I cannot wait for Liam’s story!
Still out of breath from that thrill ride! I finished this action-packed novel in one sitting because I could not put it down! Danger on the Ranch is the first installment in a new series by Dana Mentink. This book has it all…nail-biting suspense, good versus evil, unexpected relationships, etc! Can’t wait to read the others!
I was given a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review!
Fear ab Danger on the Ranch (Roughwater Ranch Cowboy’s) Dana Mentink A strong thread of fear drives Jane to try and get Mitch to help her catch her ex-husband, Mitch’s brother before he kills them. Can working together keep them alive? Trust has to be built. Twists and turns which keeps you holding your breath throughout the story from beginning to suspenseful end. A late night read. ounds
Danger on the Ranch is the first book in the Roughwater Ranch Cowboy series by Dana Mentink and as I kept reading it the word, WOW kept popping out of mouth. I love when I have that kind of reaction to a book which I rarely do but in this case, my WOW’s were justified.
There are two brothers who are as different as day and night. Mitch is a former US Marshall who is sane and kind whereas his brother, Wade is diabolical and a menace to society. The non strop action in this book had me engaged from beginning to end as I sat on the edge of my seat. As much as I loved the heart pounding scenes in the book I loved the sweet, caring nature of Aunt Ginny and Uncle Gus who provided a safe haven for Jane Reyes, the former wife of Wade. I loved the peaceful ranch setting and the wonderful characters we meet there.
Jane has been judged so unfairly which was understandable given the circumstances but through her faith she wasn’t bitter but strong and filled with determination to protect her son. I had so much respect for her. I loved seeing the change in Mitch as he came to the realization that Jane wasn’t the horrible person he thought she was.
This is easily one of the best books the author has penned and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Danger on the Ranch is a fast-paced, thrilling, marvelous book which is why I highly recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was under no obligation to write a review. All opinions are my own.

I was grabbed at the start and was hooked. Love the story and the characters, both was well written and well developed. Mitch was a US Marshal who had to put his serial killer brother in prison. Jane was his sister-in-law who had lost so much for everything. Jane finds she has to go calling on Mitch for protection. Can he help her ? Will he help her? Is she innocent or guilty? This is a story about danger, suspense, forgiveness, and love. The author will keep you guessing till the end.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book, but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I really liked this book. I thought it was interesting that Mitch and Jane both felt they were under Wade’s shadow and would always be. I liked how even though Mitch and Jane didn’t really trust each other, they had to work together in order to stay safe. There were several instances of breath-holding suspense and an accomplice I didn’t expect. I would recommend this book.

‘He’s not my God, and frankly, I can’t understand how He can be yours, after what’s happened to you.’
Dana Mentink kicks off a new series, Roughwater Ranch Cowboys, with this novel and this one is anything to go by, it’s going to be great! Mitch Whitehorse retires from the US Marshals after his vile brother is sentenced to life in prison for capturing and killing women, a true serial killer. There is nothing good in this man. Then his brother escapes and comes gunning for Mitch. And the woman he was married to when he was killing women. Only she had no idea what he was doing. Now Jane also shows up, to warn Mitch, she says, but he doesn’t believe her. How could she have been married to his brother and not known he was such a vile and heinous criminal? But now she’s got a toddler with her, one she has kept secret. And they need protection. Can Mitch truly look past his brother’s offenses and keep this woman and her son safe? Even if he doesn’t believe her story?
This book started off with a bang and kept going throughout. I love Dana’s suspense novels and she outdoes herself with this one. Truly. The bad guy in this one is truly a vicious person and she explores the thought that how can God love someone this cruel? A wonderful novel with a great spiritual theme. And Mentink introduces us to the people that will be featured in the upcoming series and I am really looking forward to them each having their own book! Well done!
*My thanks to the author for a preview copy of this book. All opinions stated here are entirely my own.
