This retelling of Cinderella was just that, a fairytale. In this story, Sadie is not abused or harmed just made to feel unloved and unwanted. She has a greedy step-mother in charge of all the finances, including her trust fund and a step sister who is completely controlled by her mother. So Sadie concentrates on her musical education in order to become self sufficient. The story, of course, revolves around the wedding and reception of the Queen where Sadie meets “Him.” This quick, easy read is a romanticized getaway for the afternoon. I enjoyed the story.
I liked that Sadie saw Leo on TV and wanted to meet him. The way they met at the reception and then he chased her down when he left was good. I also loved her friend Enrique.

Sadie Parker, daughter of a Marquis, is an art history student whose selfish step-mother is in charge of Sadie’s trust fund. Sadie works hard on her education to provide herself with a good career and a means to earn a living. When she spots someone on TV in reference to a royal wedding ball, she decides to go despite her step-mother’s demand that she not attend. She wouldn’t mind meeting the handsome stranger if she can find him!
To help Sadie make a good impression, her best friend Enrique, as her “fairy godmother” stand-in, urges her to attend and he designs her a lovely gown, choosing the perfect accompaniments of shoes and jewelry, with the request that she tell everyone about the designer who made her such a divine dress! At the ball, Leo asks Sadie for a dance or two and it leads to a memorable encounter between them. Surprisingly, she had not realized Leo was the groom’s brother and crown Prince of Belgium! Sadie panics and flees from Leo – and don’t forget the slipper left behind — and he is forced to track her down to find their HEA!
This was a good retelling of Cinderella with some comical twists that kept the story line fun. Grab your copy and enjoy an old favorite with a new look!
I remember watching the OG Cinderella in theaters in the 80’s for a field trip, I’m thrilled that this isn’t exactly like that. This character was a good person in a horrible situation, like the OG but this character was strong and independent. It was wonderful.

Loved the book it was great the story was well written and the characters were interesting. The book is like reading Cinderella every young girls dream. Sadie step mother forbid Sadie to go to a wedding. Sadie was determined to go and that is when she met a man she liked. The man that Sadie wanted to meet was everything and more on what she had thought, and he ended up being a Prince.
Thank you for allowing me to review this book it was great.

This was a cute spicy story. It’s Cinderella updated for Sadie and Leo. I originally read this as part of a collection of the author’s books, and just reread it. It was a nice steamy way to spend a couple of hours.

This is a well written modern day Cinderella story with strong characters in Sadie and Leo.It’s a short and sweet romance , moves quickly and smoothly and is an entertaining read. The author does a great job painting her scenes in detail and throws in a few twists along the way. I enjoyed reading their story.

A present-day take on the beloved Cinderella tale.
This one is different though since it comes with plenty of spice and only the stepmother is evil.
An enjoyable novella.

This book was ok. I usually like Laura Greenwood’s books more but this Cinderella retelling set in modern times let me down a bit and therefore I can only give It 2,5 stars.
Sadie(Cinderella) is very naive and not very smart. She should have figured out who Leo was a lot faster than she did and that she first thought that he wouldn’t support her music career baffles me. But I really liked the queen and her husband and what went on behind The palacewalls ;)! Even though that would never happen as royals;)!
It is also a very steamy book and I liked that Sadie and Leo desides to date before they get married.
Unfortunately it is the trope of instalust/instalove which didn’t work in this book.

This is more of a modern-day Cinderella story but it’s short, sweet, to the point, and steamy. It sort of follows after Kneel For Me as it’s Queen Amara’s wedding. I love the instant connection between Sadie and Leo. I only wish we had an epilogue or another chapter with both of them dating and how they made it work.

Cinderella has never been told like this. This intriguing retelling is inspiring and will have you from the first page. The characters are spot on and you will be cheering for Sadie and the crown prince. Will there be a happily ever after for Sadie just like there was for Cinderella in this updated version?

I enjoyed reading this book as i am a big fan of cinderella stories. Sadie was portrayed as a strong, independent and confident woman who attended the queens wedding to meet the man of her dreams after seeing him on TV. Not knowing who this man actually was and having her stepmother try to stop her from attending the wedding, her best friend Enrique made her a stunning dress and encouraged her to attend. She met the man of her dreams Leo who turned out to be a prince and the sparks flew immediately, they could not keep their hands and mouth off each other. In the end love wins and they lived happily ever after. It was a short, sweet and romantic story.

The shoe fit quite well, thank you!
I’m actually quite surprised that this book has a mediocre average rating, but I actually only tend to trust those who write full reviews rather than just slapping a couple of stars on a book. So, therefore, if you go on the basis of actual reviews, this book appears to be a hit.
And, if you come onto me, it was a hit with me as well!!
Now we must mention that there are some cheesy moments. I mean, “Fairy Gay Mother” just had me cringing! lol! But, as a retelling, of course you had to have the similarities in there, in some way, and that’s just one of them.
Sadie’s life has been compared to that of Cinderella by her best friend and I guess she moderately agrees, but she just has a stepmother who hates and would rather ignore her than one who submits her to drudgery. But when she sees a man she must have on the TV, she decides that she just has to get to the ball to meet him, even if her stepmother had forbidden it.
And there are familiar characters who come along, in the shape of Queen Amara and her consorts; I didn’t quite recognise them at first, but when I remembered that I’d read their story, too, it was a nice squidgy moment.
All in all, a good fun read.
Final rating: – Really liked
