WARNING: This book contains a dirty-talking alpha male, scenes hot enough to cause undergarments to spontaneously combust, and an ending that may pose a serious risk to your Kindle’s health and well-being. Proceed with caution! What if the person who stole your heart wasn’t who you thought they were? When my parents passed away, I grew up fast. Learning to stand on my own two feet has been a … Learning to stand on my own two feet has been a challenge, but I’m making it… my way. I make no apologies for the path I’ve chosen. My choices have served me well, but no one knows the real me.
Except one man.
He’s a mystery to me. He’s controlling, demanding, and he has me wrapped around his little finger. Anything he wants, I’ll give it to him. The hours we share together aren’t about love. It’s just sex. Hot, dirty, passionate sex. It was never supposed to be anything more than that.
Until everything changed.
Now, I’m more confused than ever. The more I learn about him, the less I seem to understand. What I do know is that I’m falling, and I have the feeling when I land, it’s going to hurt.

After losing her parents at an early age Josephine Hart learned quickly how to fend for herself, and so far she has down quite well, she has a good support system of friends, is just about to graduate from college, and has managed to find a decent job that affords her to live in a nice place and pay all her bills. But not everyone knows what she does for a living, it’s not that she is ashamed of being an exotic dancer, it’s more so she is worried they won’t understand or be accepting of it like she is, she sees it as artistry, while others see it as being degrading. So she keeps it under-wraps, to not only save face, but also save herself from a getting a lecture from her friends, or embarrass them. Not only has this job been good on her soul, but it’s also brought a mysterious and very enticing man into her life, they have an arrangement of sorts, an arrangement of the “no-strings” variety, he watches her dance and then they spend the evening together and go their separate ways in the morning. There are no feelings involved, very little talking, and it works for both of them… until it doesn’t and she learns things about him that leave her completely shaken and confused. It wasn’t supposed to be this complicated…
Dance for Me is an erotic little page turner that is certain to pull you in from the first page, and have you completely addicted in a matter of a few sentences…once my eyes hit the page, and met these amazing characters, I couldn’t pry my eyes off of them!! As soon as I met Josephine and her mystery man I was utterly entranced by them, I felt like I was a fly on their bedroom wall, experiencing their utmost private moments, and damn did like it!! Then things started to take an unexpected turn and the feels went into overdrive, and I thought oh lord how am I going to survive this, simply put… it’s a intense roller coaster ride on repeat! This is by far one of my favorites from this author, it’s everything I hoped it would be and so much more that I wasn’t prepared for… it’s ingrained itself in me, and I am not sure I’ll ever be able to let it go!! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and voluntarily read and reviewed.
So, disclaimer first: I’ve read this trilogy before, back when it was originally published, and absolutely fell in love with it. Now that it’s been re-released with new covers and I’ve been given a chance to review it, I jumped because it’s one of my favorites.
In Dance for Me, we’ve got Joe (Josephine) who is a college student stripping her way through her tuition costs. She starts up a relationship with a mysterious man, Ransom, and it’s hot and sexy and seductive, and MYSTERIOUS cuz he’s shadowy and all that jazz. Then there’s a twist and a huge cliffy and I was bummed, but have no fear cuz the next book gives some answers.
If you love your romance with twists and lots of steam, I highly recommend you 1-click this trilogy, now. It’s addictive and seriously engaging and you’ll fall in love with it just like I did.
Loved it!! A well written, suspenseful, hot steamy read that easily captivated my attention from the start. Josephine’s a college student who was paying her way in life by secretly working as a pole dancer. There she met a sexy, dominating alpha male named Ramson. Mutual attraction flared, thus beginning the start of a sizzling relationship that was kept secret for various reasons. I found the characters entertaining and their chemistry hot. OMG! The ending left me with my mouth dropped and wanting the next book. Can’t wait!!
Josephine “Joe” Hart does what she has to in order to survive. She’s gone to college all on her own while also holding down a job that allows her to make enough to pay for it. Ransom Scott starts out as a mystery but then the reader gets a surprise.
We have Joe’s story here. She has a relationship with a man who seems to like the shadows until they are alone. Then she gets the surprise of her life. Working in an academic setting, I probably see her relationship a little differently than most. But then you remember this is pure fantasy. There were times where I actually wanted to know what Ransom was thinking – get his point of view. I do have to say that when I was going to college I didn’t think of any of my professors the way it was portrayed here – no hunks in my classes.
I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but I felt that before they knew who the other was there seemed to be more steam. Heat level went down a little once discoveries were made. It’s like we have two different personas going on – when on campus and off campus. Felt like a light switch being turned off and on. But isn’t that one of the reasons to turn the page because you want to know how this is going to end – especially when the author drops a bomb that just may have you drop your jaw.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Dance for Me by J.C. Valentine is book One in the Forbidden series. This is the story of Josephine “Joe” Hart and Professor Ransom Scott
Joe had been dealt with a hard set of cards for her life. Her mom died when she was little leaving just her and her dad. Joe’s dad took her death hard and became a shell of a man. The go forward trying to keep both part of their lives separate but that become harder and harder.
This does end in a cliffhanger to set you up for the next installment in their story.
Holy Crap what a cliff hanger!!!!!
I did not see that coming. I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!
The story had me reading way into the night. Ramsom was an enigma to me. Mysterious, sexy, intelligent, and so much more.
Joe is a strong, independent college student / stripper who attracts the attention of a specific Patron who she hooks up with for some really great, explosive sex.
Their relationship is becomes an issue when she learns he is one of her college professors.
There are a lot of ups and downs, mixed feelings and even drama but ……
There is so much more than meets the eye.
I refuse to give away the reveal. But highly recommend this book. You’ll be captivated with the characters and the way the author draws you in and snags your attention only yo have us sitting on the edge of seats waiting for the next installent to this trilogy.
Definitely an author to follow. 🙂
