Down on her luck, Boadicea McGee is desperate for a job.
Bills to pay, a roof to keep over her head, and vultures for parents leave her with few options. When her best friend offers her a dream opportunity, she has to weigh dreams against survival and her own morals. The pay is good, the people are nice…but working in a BDSM club just isn’t her thing.
Angry, repressed, Bodie is afraid of who … she’ll become in that environment, especially when one man in particular gets under her skin.
Are all her secrets safe?
Braun Fitzpatrick isn’t a fool. He knows Boadicea’s special when she walks into his club. She offers him the perfect challenge, the chance to chip through the walls the fiery little female has built around her. Undeterred by her bark or her bite, Braun is content to guide her through the labyrinth of self-discovery.
When danger strikes and the music stops, will Bodie still dance for him?

This story completely broke me and put me back together. So many emotions going thru me right now while I try leave a review that will do this book justice. It’s a story of resilience, determination, second chances, and overcoming from a past no one should ever have been a part of. Bodeicea is a young woman who has had such a horrible life, yet her determination to not let it dictate who she is, is so awe inspiring. She is untrusting of people, and rightfully so, but when she meets Braun, there is something about him that puts her at ease.
Braun is an owner of a BDSM club and wants Bodie to work there, but can she trust him? Does he just have ulterior motives? Braun senses she needs stability, trust, compassion and love in her life and he is determined to show her, that he can give her all that.
These two characters have embedded themselves into my very heart and soul. My heart hurt so much for Bodie and all that she went thru. And my heart lifted when Braun showed her how life could be. This story touches on many sensitive subjects, but each one is told with grace and dignity. If ever there was a book to read, this is the one.
Bodie and Braun’s story left me an emotional wreck! I felt their love and their pain so deeply! Their scenes were wicked hot, but their real lives were full of turmoil, sweetness, and hurt. How parents could be such horrible beings is beyond comprehension, and I wouldn’t mind getting a shot at them! But meeting this family of sorts was amazing. I really felt like they all had their own quirks, but when the going got rough, with no hesitation, they all came together to lend their support. I absolutely loved them all, and I’m looking forward to each of them getting their own story.
The first chapter pulls you in so deep, that you will cry when you have to put it down. Bodie’s heart wrenching past has made her into a fiercely independent woman who is afraid to trust. Braun is willing to take that chance. Braun is the epitome of what a Dom should be.
Dance for Me is masterfully written. The author writes so you are enraptured by every word. Make sure to have your tissues ready. Kay pulls you in so that you believe you have lived Bodie’s life and you feel for everything that happens to her. You will let out a big sigh when Bodie realizes what she truly wants out of life.
Club Avalon is now my favorite club to read about. I cannot wait to hear about the other Masters and Mistress in the club!
What an amazing story, when you read about Boadicea’s family it seems unbelievable that parents would be so cruel to their own child and yet we read about it in the papers every day. Kay Elle Parker not only writes great characters she brings them to life through words, the reader feels what they feel and lives vicariously through them they are so powerfully created. The strength of Bodie to just survive, let alone flourish, is remarkable and is due in no small part to first Liam and then Braun and of course the other Masters at Avalon. There were times when I held my breath and times when I laughed and cried and be prepared for the end; if this was a movie there wouldn’t be a dry eye in the house. A fantastic read.
Heart wrenching and beautifully written. This author creates such haunting and compelling characters. The world building is excellent and I look forward to reading more Club Avalon books. These characters have caught my heart and mind. Very well done bdsm elements too. Trigger warnings for childhood physical/emotional abuse.
Kay Elle Parker is a new author to me and I have to I was completely captivated by the stellar cast of characters she’s created for the Club Avalon series. They were varied, complex, interesting, edgy and utterly likeable. I sincerely hope each one of them gets their own story!
Dance For Me is heartbreaking at times. Throughout her life Boadicea McGee has faced unimaginable cruelty and despair at the hands of her parents. She has but one friend who
offers her a golden opportunity. Braun Fitzpatrick, owner of Avalon, is enthralled by this skittish, feisty, belligerent, foul mouthed little bit of a woman. She seemingly does not return his interest but he’s a man of infinite patience. He sees the submissive she’s buried deep inside her and is determined to coax it out.
This book is intense in all the best ways. I’m always attracted to the darkness and this story has the perfect balance of dark and light. All the details just sucked me in and I just loved it all. All the supporting cast was amazing as well and could easily have their own stories as well.
I’m actually at a loss as to what to write for my review. This was such an emotional story for me. Boadice is living a horrible life and dance is her way of escaping. When Braun shows up, things change but she is still in that life. Their story blew me away. I stayed up way to late because I could NOT put the book down. When tragedy strikes, what will happen to their relationship? I honestly can’t say anymore because I would end up giving the whole story away. All I can say is to get this book and make sure you have Kleenex or a crying towel because you ARE going to need it. I really hope that we get to see more of the secondary characters and we get to see how Braun and Boadice are doing. I do believe this book is going to go on a special shelf I have for books that have touched me deeply.
This book was everything! I’m so grateful I was introduced to this amazing author by a member of my book club. Miss Parker got herself a new fan!
I can’t remember last time I was so affected by a book. I cried myself to sleep after finishing it. And even now, a couple of weeks after reading it, I get all misty eyed just thinking about it.
I was devastated reading about everything Bodie went through. Her backstory was so heartbreaking and I was so proud how strong she was despite her parents abuse!
Her and Braun had instant and amazing chemistry. I was so happy for them. Braun was so careful and patient with her it melted my heart!
I just can’t say enough to give this book praise it deserves. You simply have to read and see for yourself!
And I can’t wait to read the next book in this series! All Avalon Masters sound intriguing and I can’t wait to find out more about them!
This made me feel all of the emotions, but I think that is Kay’s specialty.
I was connected as Bodie’s story and past trickled in to this story.
I felt so much for Bodie when she was trying to cope with her life all alone.
Braun stepping in as her Dom and taking control was a swoon worthy moment, especially when the “family” stepped up to help.
Avalon is definitely a place to find yourself and be remembered.
Bo is one strong woman. She has never had a good life and never thought she would. One night it all changes for the better. Bo didn’t know going to Avalon would change her life. Meeting Braun was the best thing for her. I absolutely loved this story! It had me squirming, angry and hurt from all the emotions. Well done!
Yes! Such an amazing story. I want more! This story just drew me in and I was completely Captivated. I’m not sure I have the words to describe my feelings or how much I enjoyed this book. Boadicea has had a truly horrible life. You will hurt for her. Her parents are monsters! Braun is the perfect Master for her. Exactly what she needs even though she doesn’t realize it. Submissive is what she deep down and only he with his unending patience is able to help her realize and through this will help her with her demons. This book is super Hot! Some of the scenes will leave you breathless with anticipation. The side characters were all so perfect too. Liam, Connie, Jasper, Loki and Atticus each helped her along the way and become the family she never had.
I really liked how interesting the background for the MC is. Especially since Bodie isn’t a mean person. And she doesn’t let her family or experiences change her. And I love how she reacts to Braun and how he reacts right back. It caught my attention right from the start. Definitely recommend.
This was a fabulous book. There is just so many feelings in it. and so many characters who actually care for each other. I mean, not only is it about Bodie and Braun finding their relationship, it’s also about found family and what it takes to find yourself and to be happy, no matter what your past is like.
I loved how careful Braun is with Bodie. He does everything he can to make sure that she is taken care of, and that he doesn’t trigger any of her issues, of which there are a lot. I mean, there is just much there that has been done to her and she has experienced, so it’s not a surprise that she has all these issues.
Bodie is a survivor, and she is a fighter, and that is really important. She could have let things drag her down or change her, but she didn’t, she kept fighting, and she kept trying. I really like her. She just wants to be a good person, and she really is. I think that Braun is really good for her, as are all the people at Club Avalon.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Bodie is so strong after having been through so much in her short life, but way too stubborn. Her bff Liam is a sweetheart with foot-in-mouth syndrome, but he leads her to Braun. Ah, Braun….can I have a Braun? He wants her to dance in his club Avalon, but that’s not all he wants. He wants her to dance for him. But Bodie’s parents are in the way, but not in the way you would think. I loved this book! You have to read it!
The first book in a new series. It takes place in a BDSM club called Avalon. While the story is set around a BDSM club, there are only two very light scenes in the book. So if you are not familiar with the genre it will a good book to into it.
What I loved most about the book were the characters. I loved the interaction between all the people in the club. The teasing, but also the love and support. It made me laugh as well.
Brodie was an interesting character, very strong, but she also annoyed me at times. It was wonderful to see how she blossomed with Braun. I actually missed a bit of background with Braun. He was a bit of a mystery.
I wish i could write as beautifully poetic reviews as KEP does stories, because this one so deserves it. KEP had me in tears, crying like a baby so many times with this story, she ripped my heart out and tore it to shreds before stomping all over it. Then carefully picked up all the tiny pieces of my shredded heart and carefully sewed them back together again and held it tenderly in her hands before giving it back to me again.
This is a devastatingly tragic and beautiful story all woven in one. Bodie has a devastatingly tragic past and present. the things she goes thru is so devastating. How somebody could cope with that I can’t even begin to imagine. Then she meets Braun the dominate who knocks all her walls and coping mechanisms down, and draws her into his world.
I will never understand how KEP can take something so devastatingly tragic…because Bodies life is, and while there is no making her past better she can turn it into something so devastatingly beautiful! With the help of Braun and the friends she finds in his world.
I highly recommend this book to everybody to read. this is a story you don’t want to miss out on. it gives you all the feels! and it will stay with me forever. I will never forget reading this book!
OMG what an emotional powerful story filled of emotion, danger, heartbreak and outstanding complex characters that consumed me and so well written and detailed it takes your breath away. I could not stop!
Boadicea and Braun are fierce with instant chemistry along with steamy scenes and protectiveness like no other with laughable moments and danger lurking. I loved Braun and the men of the club they have the biggest hearts and are just delicious.
Love KEP’s writing and this book is the first in what promises to be an awesome series. Well written, juicy, action, steamy and good.
What a beautifully written book. Ms. Parker AGAIN reached into my chest & PULLED my heart strings with this one about a desperate & deeply damaged heroine who is hanging on to her sanity & indeed, her life, by the barest thread & the stalwart & loving Hero determined to support, help & love her.
The plot was intense, intriguing & drew me in, kept me on tenterhooks, kept me thoroughly & wonderfully engaged, kept me invested in the main characters as well as the secondary characters, good & evil.
Ms. Parker (IMO) has the magical ability to smoothly wrest the reader from reality into her crafted worlds. I was enthralled, felt part of Bodie & Braun’s journey. I was on tenterhooks during the dark traumatic portions as well as the romantic path that they were attempting despite the pitfalls & travails & terrors strewn along their way. But the author always follows the dark & frightening with beautiful scenes of light & love that snatch the reader from empathetic worry or tension or anger to smiles & hopeful & heartwarming.
And overall, this was (to me) a glorious tale of the power of a woman who despite horrific & continual abuse & the fear of the abusers continues to move forward & take whatever positives she is able from life: inch by inch through sheer force of will & the strength of her inner determination.
And, the marvels that a truly good hearted Dominant in love will do in order to help & heal his love, his lover, his submissive, his heart & soul mate.
And the foundation of powerful support that true & loyal friends & family in all but blood provide as they stand shoulder to shoulder with, & for, those they love & care about.
And for me, this was the magic with which the author imbued her story:
> How a damaged woman came to accept love, support, friendship from others as well as the joys of love, trust & submission to the right man
> How a strong dominant man recognized he sometimes needed help from those he loved & trusted as well as the lengths to which he would go in order to protect & defend his woman & sub
> How friends were resolved that the ones they loved & cared for would NOT stand alone.
Ms. Parker’s writing, her words, her deft & delicate style, her phrases, effortlessly imprisoned my emotions until long after I finished this book.
Do you want to be moved by, care about, be invested in, intrigued by, enthralled with characters, a plot, writing? Read this one. Read it.
