Teresa writes hot PNR, and The Protectors Series is an awesome vampire romance series!
It was an enjoyable first book, setting up the ‘world’ for the remaining series. Looking forward to see how the storyline and characters develop over the series.
Damon is an amazing start to the series!
Mate whether you want to or not
I am in love with this series. So many smoking hot vampires and the women who drive them crazy. The author did a fabulous job of creating this world and filling it with strong women and the men who are meant to complete them. This book is the perfect standalone, but has that underlying thread of a storyline that flows smoothly into the next book which I can’t wait to read.
My goodness this series is amazing I’m up to book 7 now i have not been able to put them down. Highly recommend this series.
I immediately crushed on the main female character, Nicole. She’s very easy to like with her quick and easy comebacks, no-nonsense attitude and her compassion. I love a strong female protagonist, and with Nicole, she easily fits the mould. It was with the introduction of her character that I knew that ‘Damon’ was going to be a book that would keep me hooked.
What I didn’t quite realise was just how hooked I would be. I read ‘Damon’ in just one sitting; it was that good. ‘Damon’ was so easy to read, to devour almost, I wanted my fill, especially when I was introduced to the devastatingly gorgeous Damon himself. Yes, I officially have a new crush!
Damon, a vampire and a warrior, is so very beautiful, in so many ways. The way the relationship develops with Nicole is powerfully described; Teresa captures their feelings, their passion, their heart break so beautifully. I cried in two separate places. Yes, admittedly, I’m a bit of a wuss, but their relationship did move me.
As mentioned earlier, ‘Damon’ was easy to read. And I do think this is because of the flow and pace of the narrative as well as the strong characterisations. The dialogue is fresh, believable and both entertaining and amusing. The language isn’t overly complicated or sophisticated, which is perfectly appropriate for the genre. ‘Damon’ is a passionate read, with heart-felt emotions and believable characters— applause for Teresa Gabelman considering this is a paranormal romance.
‘Damon’ is most definitely worthy of 5 stars. Any book that can make me laugh out loud, cry—on more than one occasion—and make me both unbelievably cross and then later grin like a Cheshire cat, surely has to mean that I loved it.
I love “The Protectors” series and although they can be stand alone paranormal romances they are best enjoyed if read in order starting with Damon’s book.
For adult readers.
Damon is a vampire who protects others. He is warned that a vampire assassin is coming for someone. Damon goes to the club hoping to find out who the assassin’s target is and then capture him before he carries out his kill. Little does Damon know the assassin’s target is the lovely social worker.
Nicole is a social worker who lives for helping children. When Crimson Rush comes out and children are being turned into vampires just to make the drug, Nicole works all the harder for human AND vamp kids. Nicole has pulled many vamp kids from bad homes and now some has put a hit on her. Can Damon and the Warriors keep her safe? Find out who wants her dead before they get to her?
This book has many twists and turns. It has the paranormal aspect because of the vampires. It has a cop drama feel to it because the Warriors are somewhat like detectives. Then of course there is the romance part. I like that this has a real story in it along with the steamy stuff. Damon actually fights the mate bond, which something that is unusual. It has great plot and is well written. I’ll be going on to book 2.
RECOMMENDED
I have fallen in love with this series. I do not believe in giving spoilers so your just going to have to check it out but trust me, if you like PNR then you don’t want to pass this up. Damon a fun paranormal romance read full of drama, romance, action, sexy characters and some perfectly placed humor.
I read this book and was hooked from the beginning. I hadn’t even ordered any of the others in the series, because I was just going to try it out and see what I thought (for the price). This was a great deal and I am so glad that I read it. I immediately went back on my kindle and ordered the other 3 books that were available. Each character hooks you into their individual story and yet everyone is a big family. Maybe not a typical family, but a family none the less.
I couldn’t wait to read the outcome of each of the characters in the series. Each book meshes into the next so well that you want to keep reading, like it’s just one big book.
If you like paranormal romance, check this series out. Get this book to get started and see what you think. I have laughed out loud and been hooked all the way through. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I have.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Damon and Nicole, even though Damon was an a*sehole half the time as he knew she was his mate but he could never drink from her nor mate with her for really good reasons but does he explain to her what’s up, no that’s a negative. I loved the other VC Warriors and can’t wait until I read their stories. Nicole a Social Worker at Social Welfare is the best chance the kids she looks after have, she’s a real Mother Teresa as she grew up in the system for 18 years so she knows how it works and that not every kid is lucky to find an awesome new family and there’s a lot of really bad homes, which Nicole unfortunately has first hand experience so that’s why her job and the kids are both so important to her. Before the vampires existence was announced to the world, Nicole wasn’t in many bad situations but due to people wanting to adopt/create vampire children and the children were getting used for their blood which makes a drug, Crimson Crush so the VC Warriors are called to teach Nicole and her work colleagues how to defend themselves against a vampire as with this new drugs their home visits are getting more life threatening. Her and Damon have an explosive relationship from the start even if it took them awhile to get their sh*t together. I loved Pam and Nicole’s friendship they’re total workmates goals. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next for the VC Warriors. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
This book is the Epic beginning to The Protectors Series. Damon is a totally HOT Vampire Warrior. Nicole comes into his life. The story of how these two come together just needs to be read. Please if you have not read it yet, get your copy and start reading. Just don’t piss Damon off! One of my favorite stories. I have read it 4 times so far…. From a Forever Fan… Pam James
