This is the first book ive read from this author and i loved it. I couldn’t put it down. It was just what i loved to read. I will definitely be recommending this book to friends and i will definitely be reading more books from this author and series.
This was my first time reading Vic Tyler, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started, but I quickly got pulled into the story and had a hard time putting it down (but I had adulting to do). The writing was consistent and the pace of the story flowed well and the character development was spot on. There are layers to the characters that are slowly revealed over the course of the story, and they’re all so engaging in some way that even when you don’t like them, you’re still eager to learn more.
One thing I really liked about this story is the setting and the rank structure of the criminal underworld, because the mafia isn’t at the top of the food chain in this particular storyline, and to me, that made the story even more intriguing because who could outrank the mafia when it comes to criminal enterprises? Obviously this is a dark story, so take heed with the trigger warnings; and I can’t wait for the next part!
ARC received by author in exchange for an honest review!
Okay so at first I wasn’t to sure about this book, I just couldn’t get into it I was about 25% of the way in before I was like okay I’m liking this now.
Damien of Damien I’m really really really loving this man.
West I knew right from the get go who he was had him nailed from the beginning and when it all came out I did the happy dance and was like oh yeah I knew it.
Oh I also really really loved Kitty I love a twisted mind and I can see myself being her all the way
I loved this story and I am really really excited about reading the next book.
I will say I wasn’t to sure how it was all going to be any kind of sexy anything until that little bedroom scene then I was all on board. Love love love a man that gives orders.
wow! I don’t think there is one person in this book who does not have issues. There is plenty of action to keep you turning the pages. I think this is a great start to a new series. This is not my first book by this author, but she is still pretty new to me. I must say I am very impressed with the writing and I look forward to reading ALL her other books!
This is my first time reading this author and they have created an amazingly disturbing world with complex characters. This book is not for the feint of heart and shall stick with you long after you have finished the book! This is a very dark book but there is a glimmer of light in one of the characters.

Vic Tyler has really blown me away with Damien’s Promise. She has written a very deep, dark, suspenseful, action packed mind-blowing, book and done one heck of a job at it. I will say at first it was very hard for me to get into and follow but the more I read it the better it got. Vic warns you in the prologue of the triggers of this book, such as violence, sex abuse and explicit sexual situations. So, if these things bother or offend you then this book isn’t for you.
Damien is part of Venti which in my opinion is a type if criminal mercenary group or maybe even mafia type ring. He is only 18 but the life he lives leads you to believe he much older. He is set or revenge and as you read his story you can almost feel it. That is until Adriana enters the picture. She captures his heart almost immediately and she also brought more of an understanding of the book to me because she asks so many questions. When she enters the story, she is 13 years old and she is seeking type of revenge of her own.
Damien’s and Adriana’s relationship goes through many levels of emotions and the only way to really get what I am talking about is just to read the book. I am excited to see what the next book holds for them.
I also want to say that all the characters bring so much to this book and are so well developed and play such important parts. Just when you think you have something or someone figured out Ms. Tyler throws you a curve ball. Again, she has done an amazing job bringing us a story that is very well written and will leave you chomping at the bit to know what happens next

This is my first book to read from Vic have to say I absolutely loved it from start to finish. Loved Damien and Adrianne story. It’s dark and twisted that will draw you in that will have you flipping to the next page to see what will happen next. Plus fill with some steamy moments. Cant say any more with give you spoilers and i dont do them. A must read,I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy. Bring on the next one Vic
Warning cliffhanger
I’m still trying to process what just happened. I was not expecting this at all. It’s a dark, twisted, disturbing, gory book. There were quite a few scenes that left me crying. It’s quite a long book, and I thought it’ll take me at least 4 days to finish it, but by the time I know, it’s the last page on day 2. The book was slow at the beginning, but when it picked up, it got really good.u2063

Damien was 18 and Adriana was 13 when they first met. The book ends with her being 18 and him 23. She’s really young but a crazy strong girl. Went through so so much that you can’t put it in words. You can only feel for her. She has that bright aura with her even when she’s surrounded with darkness. As for Damien, my heart goes out to him. I’m falling so hard for him. I don’t want to say too much or I’m going to spoil it. I didn’t see that plot twist coming at all! One thing I didn’t like was him being sexual active with another while thinking about her. Just save yourself for Adriana. Lol I can’t wait to see how everything is going to go down!
Damien’s Promise is book one of the Vengeance Trilogy and my first book by this author. I wasn’t sure whether I would like this new to me author but I am so glad I took a chance and read this book because it was a great one. This is a dark, twisted, suspenseful read with intriguing characters. There’s so much going on in this book and that cliffhanger left me wanting more. I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book.
I love dark stories, this one sucked me in. Took me a bit to get past the first chapters, but after that I found it steamy with angst and mystery. I love the twists and turns it takes through the story and well I found damien a great antihero and I loved him. Adriana is a great character, she is strong and nothing as they usually go with this type of stories. The suspense is now killing me that cliffy is so damn good. Can’t wait for the next ones.
Venti controls all the factions of the crime families North South East and West the only way out is death. Damien is one of 12 high ranking in the West syndicate who is one of the dangerous unfeeling mercenaries who has been given the task of watching over and protecting Adrianna a 12year broken abused surviour from a wealthy shady family from the deviants and the Vent.
The characters are complex their back stories are sad, brutal and as the story continues you understand the depths of depravity of the life around them. As time passes and the dramatics shift and this dysfunctional brutal environment alters as Adrianna starts to think of them as her family and protectors, until it all shatters around her.
Highly recommended read. I can’t wait for the next book to continue to follow some many of the souless characters.
This is book one in the Vengence trilogy and it is one heck of an introduction. First off, when you read the book blurb, take a minute to think about and consider the trigger warnings. If you are a sensitive reader, this unfortunately may not be for you. However, if you are a little on the curious and twisted side, not afraid to tackle the darker, shadier side, this is your next book series. Meet Adrianna and Damien, these are two totally different people that end up in the same space, welcome to the criminal underworld of society where all the human (I use this term loosely) boogie men and women exist. Adrianna and Damien share a life moment, both of them have lost their families due to murder and both are out for vengence. Arianna at the beginning is a thirteen year old orphan that has a past in her short life which is nothing short of tragic but she is still surviving on this earth. Damien’s father was part of this underworld organization called the Venti when he betrayed them and was killed along with his wife. His son, Damien and his daughter, Elena were kept as slaves. Elena died (or was she killed?) and Damien set out to become one of the Twelve for Cardinal Westlake. This is just the start of this amazing story.
This review could never due this book justice and it would be ridiculously lengthy to even attempt. In short, buy the book, sit and make yourself comfy because it is a lengthy one and hold on. You will be captivated by the end of the first chapter and completely absorbed by the last one. I loved the Epilogue, it contains it’s own set of surprises that leave you with a “I can’t wait” feeling, to see what happens next and the challenges that these survivors face. The Venti is not finished with these characters by a long shot and there is still more vengeance to be had. Adrianna now feels the need as she loses her second family. Damien now has to get even for everything he has had to give up in book one.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC from the author.
This book wasn’t exactly for me. I thought the writing was good but the plot wasn’t something I teach for. The blurb is exactly what you get. This isn’t your typical romance or even mafia romance. The girl is very young and I didn’t particularly vibe with how young she was in the beginning. I love Vic Tyler’s writing but this one wasn’t for me.
Arc provided for honest review.
This started out really good, then became kind of slow for a bit. But when it picked back up it was a page turner. Kept trying to figure out what was happening next. I was not even in the same ball park. If your are looking for a book that is not the run of the mill then pick this one up.
This one seriously messed with my mind ~ I have a take a day before I can begin to process this dangerously dark lil gem…
I loved the fact that this was something different, not your typical mafia story, not your typical characters, completely unexpected Most of the characters I liked as much as I hated, it’s crazy – but this book was that intriguing. I will admit it took me a little bit to get into the story, but once I did I was hooked and pulled in. I hated that it had to end, there were so many unanswered questions definitely leaving me wanting more and anticipating the next book.
5 Well Deserved Stars
This is my first but certainly not last Vic Tyler book. Damien’s Promise is dark and depraved, not for the faint of heart. But, if you are not easily triggered, enjoy suspense, angst, and insanity, this is the book for you.
Damien, the Twelve, and the Venti are twisted, effed up, completely depraved. They kill and take what and who they want. Damien only wants vengeance for his family’s horrifying fate. Little Adriana wants the same. She brings light into the faction. Turning their world upside down, but how long can the only good last?
“Because the only thing worse than an angel trying to save a demon is the angel becoming a demon herself.”
Vengeance was gripping, sexy, and had me hanging on the edge of my seat. Vic Tyler is completely brilliant!!!! Can’t wait for more!!!!

I never know what to expect with new authors, but I love giving them a chance to amaze me. Sometimes I am disappointed, but not this time. This time I was BLOWN AWAY! I was struck with the worst book hangover after finishing it and even after two days I can’t get anything else to capture my interest. So be warned; you won’t be able to get this one out of your head.
If you are a lover of dark, twisted, complex characters and plot lines that are full of surprises than you really must add this one to you TBR list, or better yet move it to the top of your list. It should be read first, for sure.
So here are the things that really made this one a cut above the rest for me. First you have the whole “How could I fall in love with a serial killer” thing. I asked myself that so many times throughout this story. The only thing that made sense, to me and Adriana, is that he isn’t like that when he is with her. He is still scary but there is a tenderness in there too. The next thing I loved about the story is the level of complexity of the characters. I can usually guess how a character is going to act based on the trope of the story I’m reading, but this one really did surprise me a few times. It made the story exciting from beginning to end. The next thing that was so fun was the setting. It’s a modern story but parts of it felt like it was set in a more Victorian type age. Not steampunk, but there were times I had to remind myself that this wasn’t a historical setting. I really enjoy that confusion and I think it is because of the amount of darkness that spins through the telling. It’s sometimes hard for me to think about dark stories having a modern setting. I love that this is a series and the time and detail that has been put into the slow development of everything. I love the depth it adds and the excitement and sense of uncertainty it creates. I have a new favorite author and a dark twisted series that is going be on my re-read pile, for sure.
Where to begin with this review? This is the first work of Vic Tyler I’ve read so when I was approached and asked if I would be willing to read this ARC and give my honest review, I had to think long and hard before I made my decision. In fact, it’s quite a large story and I wanted to make sure my schedule would allow for such an undertaking. Plus, after reading the blurb, I needed to weigh whether or not this was a genre I would be committed to through the end. Was I disappointed? Absolutely not. Was it worth the time investment for a read this large that left off with a cliffhanger? Truthfully, yes. Now …
When I first started reading and gathering the facts of the storyline I will admit to being a bit confused. As a matter of fact, I had to read the prologue and first chapter twice to make sure I had things sorted in my mind, that could’ve been just me though. This was something completely new and I had no point of reference in my mind to relate it to. Once I had a firm footing on what I thought was going on and the characters in play, it became a little easier for me to understand the concept until it took a left turn and I was thrown off course again.
thrown off course again.
The storyline is compelling, dirty, and gritty all the while bringing human emotions and feelings into a world where such things are foreign. It’s heart stopping, heart breaking, and heart warming. What I thought I had figured out at the beginning is nothing to what I was left with at the end. And yet, there’s a dawning of realization that comes with that.
Can a bad guy also be a good guy and subsequently, can the good guy also be a bad guy. Where are the boundaries and what can and do we forgive? These characters are easy to love and fear and possibly hate as each are brought forth in such vivid detail, I was left with the feeling I knew them and perhaps made assumptions of my own along the way. Some came to fruition, some are still left open, and others I was completely off base about. With all that being said, I’m there; hook, line and sinker. A new fan of this author and of this series. Now I want answers to questions I didn’t even know I had before meeting any of these people. Well done, Vic Tyler. Not only am I impressed with your storyline but with your writing style as well. Your impromptu conversation amongst characters at the end of the book is just a well thought out gift to this reader. Thank you.

Gah!!! What a fantastic start to a new Trilogy. This story had me completely engrossed from the beginning. I absolutely loved the twisted crazy world this Author has created.
It’s a dark and dangerous place full of the worst kind of deviants you can imagine, but you can’t help liking them anyway. I think I’m just drawn to the psychotic crazy characters.
As a young girl Adriana steps into the dangerous underworld full of monsters and asks for their help to spill blood.
Her life will never be the same because Vengeance comes at a price.
I absolutely loved Adriana I was impressed at her bravery to walk into the Lions Den like she did. My heart broke for her and everything she endured, so I understood her need for retribution.
Damien is one of those characters you just can’t help liking he’s dangerous, unpredictable and sinfully hotttt!! He lives his life by the code but has his own demons that drive his need for Vengeance and he will do anything to get it.
I can’t wait to read book 2 that ending has me all kinds of excited to see what happens next.
