wow! I love watching Rachael grow as a writer. This book is so good! It is not her normal clean YA she writes and I enjoyed it. Emerson was a fun character and I loved reading her and Ryder’s story. Ryder.. oh how I loved him. I am really excited to read the next book and continue this series.
Rumors.. they spread but will they become real or just stay that, rumors. You have to read it to see for yourself.
Rumors was a good story.
Emerson is at her first job after she graduate and she is not ready to face the rumors about the attraction between her and her boss spreading around the office at lightning speed.
I’ve really enjoyed to read about Emerson and Ryder journey from two toxic relationship that bring them down to a new scaring but at the same time charming experience.
This was my first Rachael Brownell’s book but it won’t be the last because I’m already waiting for the next novel in this series.
I recommend it to those who wants to read about a sexy Boss but they not expect a scorching hot story.
Rumors are a funny thing and the people who like to keep things stirred up with rumors are a piece of work. As shown with this story there are truly people that let their lives be led by how much chaos they can create by spreading rumors far and wide. Emerson let that guide her actions and caused her problems with Ian. Not sure why their story was so important I would have like more on her and Ryder. He was a charmer and a gentleman and they worked well together. I enjoyed the story and the new to me author enough to want more of this series. Can’t wait to read about Justine and Devon. Great clean read.
Rachael’s writing style has grown over time. This book proves that! This wasn’t her normal clean YA romance. This is so much more, while it’s still clearly her writing it’s for the older crowd, new adults instead of teens or what have you. Rumors is my favorite of hers so far. But then again it seems every new one becomes my favorite. If you haven’t read anything by Rachael yet, what are you waiting for?
Emerson thought everything so good in her life then she realizes it’s not the way she wants to be. She’s a strong character. She gets a new job working as an executive assistant for Ryder at Dixon Advertising. She also comes to terms that her relationship with her long term boyfriend is not what she wants. Ryder is her boss but that doesn’t take away the fact that he is sexy. Ryder is going through a divorce and the rumors swirl around the office about. There a couple of girls at work that like to gossip. There office is like a typical office. As rumors fly about Ryder and Emerson, they actually start to hit it off as more than friends. I was hooked on their story and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I really liked this one and I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series when it comes out.
I really enjoyed the authors writing style in Rumors. She took a topic that everyone can relate to and made the storyline all her own with a fun flirty plot. We have all dealt with Rumors, especially in the workplace but it’s how we handle them that make the difference. Rider and Emerson are no different.
Emerson and Rider are two character that You can’t help but root for. Emerson is leaving her boyfriend and starting over with a new job/career. Rider is Emerson’s sexy new boss who going through a rough divorce. The last thing either of these two want or need is being attracted to someone new. Yet, as they work long hours together and the Office Rumors spread it gets harder and harder to ignore what people are saying.
Are they or aren’t they? Do they make the rumors reality? All I can say is I Highly Recommend Reading the book to find out. You won’t be sorry you did. 2 Thumbs Up!
Emerson Hastings thought she had a good relationship . . . for the most part. It wasn’t until she took a job at a marketing firm that’s a competitor to the company her live in boyfriend works for that she realizes just how limiting and controlling he really is. She’s ready to take this chance to prove herself, however, even if that means walking away from a relationship that no longer seems to be working for her. What she didn’t expect was to find herself extremely attracted to her sex on a stick new boss.
Ryder Dixon is going through a nasty divorce. The last thing he should have on his mind is another woman. But, he can’t seem to keep his thoughts away from his new assistant, Emerson. She’s gorgeous, smart and caring. While he knows he should keep his distance, he can’t seem too.
Working in an office means dealing with rumors, and those rumors are spreading about Emerson and Ryder. They’re hard to ignore, and each new rumor seems to make their attraction to one another grow. No one but Emerson seems to be worried about whether or not the rumors are true as long as there is gossip to spread. Emerson’s best friend reminds her that the best way to stop a rumor is to make it true. Now it’s just up to Emerson to see if she has the courage to ignore the rumor mill and go after what she wants . . . . her boss!
I love a plot that has two people who aren’t looking for love have it fall directly into their laps at the worst possible time, and Rumors did just that! Both Emerson and Ryder have been living with rotten relationships for years. Neither wants something new, they just want space and happiness, yet they are so drawn to one another that they soon realize they are one another’s happy place.
I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I loved watching Emerson re-find herself after realizing she wasn’t happy with her ex and why she wasn’t happy. I also liked that even though Ryder was finalizing a divorce, he knew he didn’t want to pass up what could be a great thing between him and Emerson, but was willing to take it as slow as she needed to go.
Rumors was a fun, relaxing and enjoyable read. No high stress plotlines, but plenty of warm and fuzzies as Ryder and Emerson got to know one another as well as some laughs courtesy of Emerson’s best friend Angie. 4 stars!
