Don’t date your bodyguard. It was the one rule he had to break.Maximoff Hale is a force of nature. A ship unwilling to be steered. Headstrong, resilient, and wholly responsible — the twenty-two-year-old alpha billionaire can handle his unconventional life. By noon, lunch can turn into a mob of screaming fans. By two, his face is all over the internet. Born into one of the most famous families in …
Born into one of the most famous families in the country, his celebrity status began at birth.
He is certified American royalty.
When he’s assigned a new 24/7 bodyguard, he comes face-to-face with the worst case scenario: being attached to the tattooed, MMA-trained, Yale graduate who’s known for “going rogue” in the security team — and who fills 1/3 of Maximoff’s sexual fantasies.
Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene has one job: protect Maximoff Hale. Flirting, dating, and hot sex falls far, far out of the boundary of his bodyguard duties and into “termination” territory. But when feelings surface, protecting the sexy-as-sin, stubborn celebrity becomes increasingly complicated.
Together, boundaries blur, and being exposed could mean catastrophic consequences for both.
Damaged Like Us is the first book in the Like Us series and can be read and enjoyed without reading any of Krista & Becca’s other novels.

Wonderful!
This is a fun romance written in a unique style with the authors breaking the 4th wall periodically.
Loved it!
This book truly is a rollercoaster ride. I loved the back story and the depth to all the characters. The closeness of the family, with the bickering just makes it all the more realistic. The lines between security and client can be very blurry, because they truly do care about everyone. I loved this so much.
Great series, probably one of my new, top favorite authors now! Love their writing style!
Only read a few chapters, not my kind of book
i didn’t like anything about this book and deleted it before I could finish it, I was that bad.
Loved it 🙂 highly recommended!
The Body Guard crossed with the Kardashians featuring two uber hot alpha males. Mix in Super Heroes and Harry Potter. What’s not to love? Caliente!
Just what I was looking for
I really liked this book and I can’t wait to read the sequel.
I wish to see more of the romantic side of the main characters’ relationship than their sexual prowess in the next installment.
We met Maximoff Hale,or better a younger version of him at the end of the Calloway sisters series,he has always been a reflective kid and I was glad to see that his grown up self was able to take some risks and turn off his mind in order to be happy.
I loved to see the kids all grown up…every single one with their well depicted personality that’s so easy for me to envision them.
Thanks to Krista and Becca Ritchie to give us (melancholy fans) some more of their beautiful words.
I was not sure what to think with this book being M/M. But I loved the Addicted Series and the Calloway Sisters, so I thought that this would just be an extension of those.
I was not disappointed. The story of Moffy and Farrow was fantastic! Moffy was lusting after Farrow when he was 16 years old….. Farrow noticed that Moffy was all grown up while working on Lily’s detail. Now that Farrow has been moved to Moffy’s detail, things could get a little crazy! This story is about so much more than these 2 men falling in love. Its about getting to know the grown up Moffy, and some of the others in his generation. Its about seeing how he is with his family. Its about Moffy getting to trust some one enough to rely on them the way that everyone else relies on him. Yes there were sex scenes between the 2 men, but to me it didn’t seem to be that big of a deal. My love for Moffy had me just wanting him to be happy. I want him to have that loving relationship he sees his parents have but doesn’t think that he will be able to have. And I am happy to say that I think he will have it!
I am excited for the continuation of their story together. While I don’t think that I will seek out M/M romance novels, I will absolutely continue to read the books by Becca and Krista Ritchie because they have already made me fall in love with these characters. These ladies draw real emotion out of me when they are telling their stories, and I cant wait for them to make me cry both tears of sadness and joy and laugh like crazy some more.
Damaged Like Us is the perfect first book in the new Like Us series. I had very high expectations and Krista and Becca met all of them with this book. With many new series, there often is a huge amount of information being thrown around in the first book (which can be confusing at times). However, I was really happy with the way the authors handled everything. There are many new characters, but they were introduced in a very smooth way. Right from the beginning I was looking forward to catching up with the Addicted series characters (I love them so much), however the kids, who the focus will be on in this series, stole my heart. Each and every one of them are so unique and awesome. I just can’t wait to get to know them better.
Damaged Like Us focuses on Maximoff (Moffy) and his new bodyguard Farrow. I just loved their banter so much. Also the attraction was off the chain! This book was everything! It was emotional at times, hilarious, sad, SEXY and so much more. The make-out and sex scenes got me all hot and bothered (which doesn’t happen that often). But there was just something special about Moffy and Farrow’s chemistry. I just love that Krista and Becca take the time to really develop the story and characters. Both were done perfectly and I wouldn’t change a thing. I also adore Moffy and Jane’s relationship. I am dying to get my hands on the next book. If you love unique plots and characters, and love to be surprised then I highly recommend this book. Krista and Becca will take you on a beautiful, emotional, funny, but also rocky journey. The authors are one of my all time favorites, and I will read anything they’ll write.
6 stars. One of my 2017 favorites.
In the world of celebrities, where paparazzi hound them on every step, where stories are being made up, where people act like they know everything about their idols, and everyone wants a piece of them, it’s almost impossible to find love. And when you’re Maximoff Hale, it’s even more difficult for you: a man with such strong moral values and high empathy, on his life-long dedication to one-night-stands, no relationships, just so he could never bring another person to the public eye, to endure what he had to, even as a little kid. He’s the picture perfect oldest brother: the one who’s (over)protective of the younger siblings and cousins, but also the one who’s understanding. He’s a favorite celebrity, open to interaction with fans, he’s the perfect one… Until faced with his childhood/teenage years-nemesis slash never-stopped-crushing-on guy, Farrow; none else than Maximoff’s new bodyguard. And while the heat boils between them, there’s nothing they could do about it… or there’s nothing they should do about it!
I loved this book. It was pretty long, but it was a perfect introduction to this new series, very elaborate; and the characters all so well-developed put in the story that was all thought out in amazing details, with some twists and turns. But main focus is on the love story between Maximoff and Farrow… it’s beautiful. It’s raw, and intense, and candid. Two people with knowledge of why forbidden is forbidden, but can’t stay away from each other. Two people so inherently different, but also incredibly similar to each other. Two people who should never work together… just do. And they do it in a perfectly imperfect way.
“I just want him to be able to feel the light now and then. If I have to wrangle the sun out of the fucking sky with my bare hands, then I’ll withstand the burn. I’d give it all to him if I could.”
Celebrities and bodyguards’ lifestyle, paparazzi and gossip, overzealous fans, loving, protective families; perfect love story of two people finding their way into each other’s arms and hearts – a mix of everything that Krista and Becca Ritchie put in the amazing package of Damaged Like Us. Easily one of this year’s favorite reads; I’d recommend this NA contemporary M/M romance as the perfectly imperfect love story that will keep you well entertained and on your toes page after page.
Loved it!
Great Book…..Great Series….Highly Recommend

Audible Review:

“The Billionaire and The Bodyguard”
What did you love best about Damaged Like Us?
I loved Moffy! I adored how much he cared about his family, not just his immediate family but his entire extended famiy. His love really knows no bounds, it was very endearing.
What other book might you compare Damaged Like Us to and why?
I can’t think of another book that I’ve read that was quite like this.
What about Alexander Cendese and J. F. Harding ’s performance did you like?
I think they both did a good job with their characters. J.F. was great as Moffy. It’s always entertaining listening to males voice the female characters- and there were a lot of female voices in this story! But they did great making them all sound different.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a couple scenes that got to me, one in particular was between Moffy and his dad after his sister Luna’s birthday dinner.
But the biggest surprise was the whole issue brought about by the tabloid story the last day of the camp, and how Moffy and Jane’s families reacted. I was very shocked and disappointed with them all, honestly!
Any additional comments?
I thought this was a sweet story and I’m looking forward to diving into Lovers Like Us to see what’s to come for Moffy and Farrow.
And I hope some of the cousins end up with books of their own!
