‘Neither of us can control how we met’
Nor it appears can Dallas and Marnie control their attraction to each other!
Danger from the outset has them on the run from an unknown gunman who seems a little too good at locating them, is there corruption in law enforcement and witness protection or are they being tracked?
We love The Guardian Agency!
Black has definitely found her voice as a go-to romantic suspense author. Dallas is a high octane rocket ride that will keep you reading long into the night.
Love reading this story! Dallas is assigned to protect Marnie and there is a instant attraction between. The story drew me in and I could not put it down till I finished it! I recommend this book!!!!!
Favorite book of this series!
This read was fantastic from start to finish. The suspense was non-stop, the storyline engaging and the characters dynamite! This was a novella, so a shorter read, but with everything going on I hardly noticed until the end; I was sad to see Dallas and Marnie’s adventure end. Both of these characters were wonderfully written and easily relatable. I enjoyed the bantering between the two throughout the story; their conversations seemed easy and natural. I liked the fact that Marnie was written with an independent, strong-willed nature who knew how to stand on her own as well as stand back when necessary and let someone else take lead. I loved Dallas and his protective nature. He was strong, accepting, laid back and understanding yet fierce and dedicated. He definitely moved up my list for a book boyfriend – just awesome! I thought the timing of their developing relationship happened at a nice pace and they had a great HEA.
This story is a crossover between Elle James’ Brotherhood Protectors World and Black’s own Guardian Series. It was nice seeing Hank Patterson and some other faces from the BP jump into the action. Though part of two worlds, Dallas can easily be read as a stand-alone.
*I received an advanced copy from the author and I am providing my honest review.
Dallas was invalided out of the armed services when an operation went sideways and his K9 partner died. But with a new career with the Guardian Agency, he is back doing what he does best – protecting people. He saw what a violent male can do to a family, so domestic abuse cases always hit him hard. But when a protect alert is issued he finds himself looking after another kind of damsel in distress – a Witness in WitSec has been attacked and she is on the run – alone!
Marnie did the right thing but now she is in the crosshairs of a criminal organisation, trafficking in females from various Reservations. When her friend and protector is gunned down in front of her, she heeds his instructions to run. But she isn’t trained in evasion and a certain handsome agent soon finds her. But how can she be sure that he is the good guy?
As Dallas and Marnie elude her attackers, they realise that they have more than a passing attraction but can they make their relationship last past the initial attraction stage – after all, he is an active agent and she is a homebody at heart. Can they protect the Blackfeet women from further kidnappings, or will they also fail them?
Tons of action, fast-paced and hotter than hot attraction between Dallas and Marnie. I love that she doesn’t just take him on his word that he is the cavalry – she makes sure she knows she is safe with him. I need to know more about his “researcher”! After meeting Claudia in a previous book I want to meet all the backstage crew!
Marnie is super stubborn and almost gets herself killed with her innate need to keep everyone else safe! My only grumble is I want longer stories!
I volunteered to read and review a readers copy of DALLAS . I really enjoyed reading this story . It was action packed from the beginning to end . Marnie Kemper was suppose to testify against a human trafficking ring when things went really wrong her bodyguards were killed and shes hiding . Dallas Winston works for The Guardian Agency is sent to protect her . Dallas finds Marnie while a man is trying to kill her . They escape but must get to safety and stay in hiding till she’s scheduled to testify again . Dallas will do whatever he needs to keep the woman he is beginning to care for .This story is a suspenseful and intriguing with great characters . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
Another fantastic story in this series by Regan. She has a way with writing this series that I love. Anything military past or present I’m in. I loved going back to Eagle rock and hearing from the original brotherhood again. Dallas lost his partner, K9 Reggie when he was a MP and he was injured as well. So it took a lot of adjustment on his part. Now he’s protecting Marnie. She wants to go home but has to testify first. She was in witness protection but there was a leak. Some action, love scenes and hopes and dreams visited. HEA.
Marnie Kemper is a key witness in an upcoming trial. She helped rescue a woman who was kidnapped. Now the bad guys are trying to kill her. She facing death with determination to survive . I like that she’s a strong woman who stands up for herself. I admired how she doesn’t want her protectors to be safe. Dallas Winston is trying to get his life back on track after leaving the military. I sympathized with his loss of his partner. I loved how he’s determined to keep Marnie safe. Their special connection was amazing. The action was nonstop and the attraction between these two was powerful. I couldn’t put this book down until I knew that Marnie was safe and with Dallas. Regan Black’s characters pulled me in. I wanted justice to triumph. I’m enjoying the stories of the Guardian Agency. They are heroes. I can’t wait for the next adventure.
Guardian Agency: Dallas
Regan Black
Once again Regan Black brings intense suspense to the story of Marnie and Dallas that keeps you flipping page after page until the end.
A strong woman, Marnie, rescues a young girl from a human trafficking gang and agrees to testify against them. This changes her life in more ways than one. Dallas gets the protect message and becomes her lifeline.
Strong characters brought together to fight evil of the worse kind. Twists and turns that keep you staying up late until all your questions are answered.
A wonderful romantic suspense storyline. It is gripping right from the beginning. Characters are well developed. Dallas Winston struggled after his K9 partner died. Marnie Kemper is on the run after her security detail was shot down. Dallas is instructed to protect Marnie, but their attraction became very strong. Dallas must still protect Marnie, but she was not going to stand in the background
It is not often I get time to read ones I really want to read but of late I have made that time with this author being one. This series is a delight to read it has it all in my opinion so when I opened up this one it right away captured me into this world with the characters that go on a fast pace to excitement and suspense. Marnie and Dallas give you all they got with this also giving us the unexpected at every turn which I adore because being a older reader some are just too predictable. This one also takes you on a crazy train for a bit but you will love this from start to finish.
This story is a crossover between Elle James’ Brotherhood Protectors World and Regan Black’s Guardian Agency Series. Hank Patterson and some others from the Brotherhood Protectors are also in this book. I love that the two are combined to become a part of Dallas.
Marnie Kemper helped a Native-American woman escape from a group of sex slave traffickers and is now a witness against them. She must go into protective custody until the court date. As she and her body guard are leaving the courthouse after the pre-trial hearings, he is killed trying to save her. She realizes that she is not sage and takes off.
Enter a man called Dallas Winston, the DA called the Guardian Agency and he is now her new bodyguard. Marnie does not want his help because she is afraid that he will be killed. The killer is hot on the trail of Marnie and Dallas and they are determined to take down this group of traffickers…
As Dallas and Marnie elude her attackers, the attraction between them is intense. Can they have a relationship that can survive the danger they are in….Will they be able to protect the Blackfeet women from further kidnappings, or will they also fail them?
This is a fast-paced, romantic suspense that is set in the beautiful mountains of Montana. The author describes the scenery in detail. I was eagerly turning the pages until the end. I received an ARC of this and volunteered to review it.
What a fantastic, breathtaking romantic suspense tale, a story that keeps on your toes from the first page to the last!
I have enjoyed the Brotherhood Protectors series from Ms. Black, each their own story based on the world of the protectors. Yet Dallas is my favorite of them all, with the tight plot, tense suspense, and tender romance it just hit the home run on all aspects.
I applaud that the author brought up the alarming crimes against the Native American women and girls that have been happening in the resent times.
Marnie Kemper is a woman easy to admire. She is strong both physically and mentally, she looks out for those who need it, she is talented, smart, capable, she is able to defend herself, and she knows her own limits and respects them. Ah, I love her and her spunk so much.
And Dallas Winston is the perfect match for her, since they compliment each other so well, in every aspect. He is a broken warrior, yet capable and apt for his job. He is strong, smart and kind, and his tactical thinking was on point, he is a true protector, it wasn’t something he could turn on and off, it was who he is.
I loved the chemistry between them, how they connected, how Dallas had to figure out fast how to gain her trust, and how Marnie was able to understand that Dallas was someone worth trusting with her life. The passion between them was ardent yet tender, sweet yet fervent, it was flammable and believable, I simply loved them as individuals and together as a couple.
The threat is real, it is deadly, and the danger is intense. It is constantly present, harsh, and at times violent.
There is so much story fit into the shorter length of a book. It is thrilling, action-packed, gripping, and marvelous, and I loved every moment and aspect of it just as it is. A must-read!
~ Five Spoons
Dallas is given the assignment of protecting Marnie however he needs to prove he’s one of the good guys first. Lots of action throughout the entire story. I was eagerly turning the pages until the end. I received an ARC of this and volunteered to review it.
Doing the right thing, no matter the cost. I absolutely love the fact that besides being a strong independent women, our heroine steps up and does the right thing. How can you not love someone like that, especially in our world today. Its like a ray of hope, even it is in a romantic suspense novella. Romantic suspense it delivers. Our hero Dallas is no longer in the army as noted in the synopsis and joined the Guardian Agency. Marne has her own shop , check for independence, and after her protection is shot and killed in front of her, makes a decision to hide in a motel. Dallas is tasked to her protect her and off and we go. I enjoyed the plot line, the intelligence, the humor and getting to touch with Hank Brotherhood Protectors. I snickered as I think Marne did when he makes the comment about a former k9 not liking him. This checked all the boxes for me, enjoyment, suspense, romance, some steam, and dogs. Thank you Regan Black for the arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
Omg I have to say this book was absolutely wonderful and I fell in love with Dallas. This book was so good with so much action packed and suspense and romance and love if you haven’t read this book you truly dont know what you are missing. Loved it.
Book was great from the start! Dallas who works for Guardian Agency is sent to protect Marnie till she can testify. From the time he meets her it’s non stop, suspense, action and second chances. I also liked that Marnie is able to take care of herself. Regan did it again great book!
,
Once again the Brotherhood Protectors ar called out. This was a very fast moving book. I picked it up couldn’t put it down. Filled with excitement. love and most of a man who deserved a second chance. But question is through the whole story does he get it??
This well written and you won’t get lost the story flows together. Regan is a fabulous writer and her books are completely ones I will read over and over again
Marnie Kemper is running for her life, and Dallas Winston has been assigned as her Protector. While Marnie is fully capable of taking care of herself, Dallas is determined nothing, and no one, will harm her as long as he’s around. After an initial clash of wills, Marnie is willing to rely on Dallas to keep her safe. As their situation grows ever more uncertain and not being sure who they can trust, their trust in, and reliance on, each other grows stronger. But will Dallas’s efforts be enough to keep her alive and what’s to come after the threat passes, if it passes?
This is an exciting and engaging tale, full of drama and suspense, with an inevitable build to deliciously steamy passion. The characters are well drawn, and the story is packed with fast paced, and at times near lethal, action. There were some parts of the underlying storyline that were left unanswered, which, to me, made it feel a bit incomplete, but it did not compromise my enjoyment of the main thread of the story. It’s a quick, exciting read that will keep you turning the page from start to finish. I recommend this very appealing and highly entertaining romantic suspense!
Another hit for this author. I loved the story and the characters.
