When big-city lawyer, Nolan Anderson, rolls into her small West Texas town, Ferina Kincaid goes into a tailspin of worry over losing her family’s ranch because she knows he’s been hired by town banker and long-time Kincaid nemesis, Lance Morrison. Morrison owns the land adjacent to Ferina’s property and will stop at nothing to take what is rightfully hers, even if it means digging up the past and … and hurting innocent bystanders. Dishonest cowhands are cheap in Brewster County, and the banker has enough men and cash to outlast and ruin her with his dirty tricks and vandalism. Hiring Nolan is just the latest of Morrison’s devious shenanigans, which have turned Kincaid Ranch upside-down, and–with more than just her land at stake–Ferina fears she’s no match for this too-handsome, smooth-talking lawyer.

I loved this fun story about feisty Ferina Kincaid and her battle to keep her ranch going. Too busy working on her ranch, Ferina settled for second-rate romance until she discovered her boyfriend’s shenanigans. Threats to her property come rolling in at the same time lawyer, Nolan, drives into town. Whose side is he on? With a fast pace, and some raunchy capers, Daisy Dukes ‘n Cowboy Boots is a rollercoaster of family ties, tempting romance, and dirty deeds. There are plenty of twists along the way as bad guys turn good and good guys turn hot. Loved it.
Feuding land owners, quirky characters, and a fiery main character create a fun, lighthearted, romantic saga found in Daisy Dukes ‘n Cowboy Boots. Ferina Kincaid tries to hold onto her land and manage the family ranch she inherited. That is, until a handsome, sexy attorney arrives in the small Texas town to represent the greedy, grabby other side.
I enjoyed the wide array of characters—especially sweet, lovable Dwight, despicable Lenny, sassy Ferina, and even rich-girl Mallory. Co-authors Zari Reede nailed the small-town country dialogue. Heck, I’m close to Arkansas and didn’t know what many of the southern sayings meant. I enjoyed the plot twists and cracked up about the only diner in town, the Dixie Diner, serving really bad food. If I had to describe this novel using one sentence it would be: Andy Griffith meets Hee-Haw with a big splash of steamy sex, cocktails, and memorable characters.
A lot of talented writers live in Texas and the writing team known as Zari Reede
is no exception. Daisy Dukes ‘n Cowboy Boots is a charming and entertaining
chick lit/romance novel that I can recommend to anyone who would like to have an
enjoyable reading experience.
Ferina Kincaid is a land rich cash poor rancher in West Texas. She is
hard-working and has a generous heart, a character that readers sympathize with
and care about. Although a veterinarian by profession, she has put her heart and
soul into keeping the family ranch going. Lance Morrison, local banker and
neighbor, wants her land and will anything to get it. This seems to stem back
from a rivalry he had with Ferina’s father, Lloyd Kincaid. The feud also
involved Ferina’s mother. Enter Nolan Anderson, big city attorney, who has been
hired by Morrison. Ferina and Nolan are attracted to each other but appear to be
on opposite sides. The plot becomes complex with a number of twists and turns,
some of them quite surprising. There are also numerous interesting secondary
characters:
Nolan’s sister Nadia, Ferina’s friend Dwight White, Ferina’s distant brother
Frank, as well as a number of bad people willing to do Morrison’s dirty work.
This is an engrossing book that you won’t want to put down until you’ve read it
through to the very end. And it will leave you well satisfied
Daisy Dukes n’ Cowboy Boots, fun sexy and sassy. The characters are fun and well developed. The story, very entertaining, with plenty of twist to keep the readers attention.
I won a copy of Daisy Dukes n’ Cowboy Boots and was asked to write an honest review. I really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it to all readers.
Such a funny read. Great character development and several twists and turns that keep you reading on and on. Funny romantic moments interspersed with devious designs from “the bad guys”.
Daisy Dukes ‘N Cowboy Boots has it all: romance, great plot, and vivid setting!
