Losing her the first time damn near killed me.We were kids then, crazy in love. Her dad found out, and just like that I was shipped back to college early. No goodbye, nothing. After that, I always found an excuse to stay away. Nothing short of my dad’s cancer could’ve brought me back to town. Now I find out I have a child, one that was kept a secret from me.I’m pissed. I’m hurt. I’m confused. And I … me.
I’m pissed. I’m hurt. I’m confused.
And I can’t get Ari off my mind.
The woman she’s become, so beautiful and strong.
An artist who put her life on hold to support her child—our child.

Simon and Ari’s story may be a somewhat typical second chance/secret baby romance, but Natasha L. Black does a great job of adding her twist to this tale. These two are well written, interesting characters. They both have well intentioned motivations for their actions, but the consequences are difficult for everyone to live with. The book is fast paced, but they don’t jump right back into an intimate relationship. the heat develops and I like that. Overall a solid read.
Another great read by Natasha L Black. She brings strong , well developed characters in Ari and Simon and weaves a story filled with tons of emotions, good and bad , and gives them a second chance at romance. She does a wonderful job describing her characters and paints her scenes in vivid detail and delivers an interesting and heartfelt story. I loved and would highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Real, raw and emotional is just the tip of the iceberg with this book. This is a dark second chance type of romance that is more realistic than most. Characters that you love, situations and circumstances that you hate make for an engaging read. It takes a lot of time and effort for Arianna and Sam to see past the hurts and find the path together.
Ari and Simon were young and in love when they were younger. When Ari’s dad finds out about them, he puts a stop to it and forces Simon to leave for college early and never come back into town. Ari’s dad explains he left a letter that he was going back to college to his girlfriend. Ari is heartbroken but continues with her life until she finds she is carrying their baby!!! Will she ever tell Simon or anyone in town?
Simon leaves and never hears from Ari again, she was supposed to call him if she wanted him back. He took that as rejection and stayed out of town and away from everyone. But when his dad gets sick, he returns home and finds he missed Ari so very much. He wants to get to know her all over again, but why is she pushing him away? Can they find their way back to each other?
This story has so much mystery, love, lust, romance, deceit, betrayal and so much more!!! This will keep you hooked until the end!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.
A heart warming second chance romance that will have you rooting for them to come out together. The book was enjoyable and well written.
Simon was kicked out of town when her father found them making out as teenagers. He went because he had no choice. He left not knowing the most important thing, he had a child on the way. It was not until nine years later that Ari sees him again, by that time his girl is nine. Both of them had loss much, can they possibly be a family again?
This is a steamy, contemporary, second chance romance between two people whose lives were forever changed by their families. I thought the characters were well crafted, complete with negative and positive attributes. The storyline flowed along well and the sexual scenes worked well to further along the plot. The emotional drama was interesting and the changes in the characters was wonderful to see. If they even had a chance to find happiness together, the two main characters had to overcome past betrayals, insecurities, family drama and illness, a difficult child and their own fears. I think this is a wonderful story of forgiveness and true love. If you like contemporary romances with some heat, then give this book a read.
Loved this second chance romance with a secret baby thrown in to amp up the drama! Ari and Simon have a summer together, until her overbearing father finds them. All Ari knows is that Simon left her with out a word and while she is nursing her broken heart at college she finds out she is pregnant. Fast forward 9 years and Simon is back in town and is blindsided by Ari. There is so much that neither knew about the time around when Simon left and now all the lies and betrayals are out. Can they find a common ground for their daughter, and what happens when they realize they never got over each other? No spoilers, you’ll have to read it yourself!
